The Master Programmer-Chapter 179: Meeting the Fam 1
Jack did his shopping, engaging Jason in the talk about his old days, rough days in the streets where he had to thug it out, toot and nail. He had to take care of himself after his father abandoned him and his mother to life in the slums. Well, now he was glad he experienced something like that.
"You know..." he had said back then. "There’s not much difference between high society and the slum life. It’s just that everyone wears clean clothes and smells better. But it is still the same rotten hearts and cold-blooded creatures."
Jason knew that this man was probably forced to become the most cold-blooded creature of all. As they walked out, with Jason carrying the groceries like a good little servant, ack walked ahead and then he turned to Jason right as they were about to reach his car forcing him to stop in his tracks.
At that moment the man did something he had never expected. Jack extended his hand, smirking with that serpentine grin that never reached his cold, calculating eyes. It was way too interesting to see what was going to happen.
"Keys, Jason. Let’s see if this beast lives up to its look," he said, his voice smooth, almost mocking.
Jason arched a brow but didn’t hesitate, flipping the keys into the air. Jack caught them mid-flight, his grin widening.
"I’m a man who loves speed. Hope you’re not too attached to this beauty. I might take it away if it feels tight and snug," Jack added, walking toward the car with a spring in his step.
A sexual innuendo? Very smooth.
Jason chuckled under his breath, watching Jack slide into the driver’s seat like he owned the world. "Do what you want," Jason muttered, more to himself. His gaze lingered on Jack, his thoughts swirling.
This man is a sociopath.
The memory of the store incident resurfaced. Jack had handed a child a candy bar, assuring him it was fine to eat without paying. Minutes later, security had descended on the boy and his frantic mother. Jack had laughed as if he’d just witnessed the funniest prank. Jason on the other hand had watched him in interest.
"People are idiots," Jack had said back then with the faintest smirk on his face.
Jason, masking his disdain, had replied, "Yes, they are." But his words had carried a double meaning. To Jason, the true idiot was Jack. He had been revealing more and more of himself to Jason the entire time, and Jason was not one to let such a clear advantage go like that.
He was going to use every single thing he learned to build rapport with the man. That was what he told himself back then, and he had been hard at work. Now, Jason moved to the back of the car, loading the groceries into the trunk. His mind wasn’t on the mundane task but on the plan, he’d meticulously crafted.
Jack was dangerous, yes, but predictable. Jason had spent hours studying him, building rapport, and acting like the obedient ally Jack wanted. Every smile, every nod, every "You’re right," had been calculated.
And right then in that moment, it was all about to come together.
Sliding into the passenger seat, Jason turned to Jack, his eyes narrowing.
"Jack," he said, his voice calm but commanding. Jack glanced at him, and that’s when Jason struck.
Activating his [Emperor’s Gaze], Jason locked eyes with Jack. "From now on, you will obey my every word," he said, his tone low and resonant, each syllable weighted with authority.
Jack’s smirk faltered, his eyes widening as if an invisible hand had gripped his mind. He blinked rapidly, his body trembling. Jason saw this as a form of resistance and letting go of thoughts of everything that might be holding him back, he leaned closer, his voice soft but unyielding.
"Stop resisting." The words hit like a hammer, and Jack’s shaking ceased.
Jason’s heart raced as he turned to look at his state.

Using [Emperor’s Gaze] drained his Aura, leaving him momentarily vulnerable, but the risk had been worth it. Jack’s defiance had melted away, replaced by a blank, submissive stare.
Jason had figured something out previously. The [Emperor’s Gaze] had a hidden condition, and it was based on rapport. If someone did not like you or at least identify with who you are and what you mean to them, then they would be less likely to be affected.
If Jack and Jason had never spoken, never gotten to know each other, the resistance Jack would have shown would have been much more and it might not have worked as well as it did right then.

But still, he couldn’t help but look at his other missions, wondering what actually happened. After all, he was sure he had no real contact with Amanda or anyone else from his past. And yet their mission has shown suc incredible progress... It was actually somewhat terrifying.
Jason exhaled, a faint smirk playing on his lips. Turning to Jack who sat there in the driver’s seat, looking at Jason in a daze, Jason smirked even while his face was showing the most pale visage.
"Good. Now, Jack, I need you to do something for me…"
— Meanwhile, at Amanda’s house —
Amanda and the people around her were looking at a screen with weird expressions on their faces. What were they seeing?
There was an article on screen, and everyone in the room had these looks of shame, disgust, anger, and confusion all mixed into one. The reason was not because of the words on the article, but the image on the screen.
Why was there a picture of Jason right there, with three women? And why were the women so beautiful, dressed in these shimmering gem necklaces on their necks?
This was high society! Why was Jason in high society?! Jason the convenience store worker was looking dapper in a suit. In High Society?!
Amanda looked at those women, and she couldn’t help but feel a bit… sick.
Why was his relationship with women so good when her relationship was strained recently?
She had been at the store and asked her boyfriend for a handbag, only for her boyfriend to look at her and then tell her she had to get her spending down because they were heading into an expansion, looking to grow their company. He could not spend too much money.
Even more importantly, he was being ordered b by his family to cooperate with the business Jason worked for and apparently they were negotiating some million-dollar deals that could not fall through because of his misbehaviour.
This was all happening because of Jason... because he visited that home on that one day. Whatever he said to her boyfriend and her boyfriend’s handsome brother who never looked at her must have changed everything!
Ruined Everything!!
Jason always ruins everything in her life!
Mark came back at that moment, his face looking a bit unsightly as he put his phone away. He had been taking a call in the other room the whole time, trying to find information from his friends. Seeing his face like that, everyone knew that this was not going to be good. And they were right.
"Guys I just found out…" Mark began gravely. "The room Jason and the women were in was a private Gold Room. And it was room number one, the most expensive. The ticket was in his name, and the women with him were invited by him too."
Everyone drew in a breath of air. Those rooms were expensive. This was a well-known fact, but as Mark stood there sharing even more information from his findings, everyone’s faces changed even more.
Jason had bought something from the auction. It was a bunch of necklaces, for millions. Those necklaces the women were wearing, those were the things Jason had bought them... Amanda grits her teeth looking at the necklaces. She loved the look of the orange one. All of them were beautiful. All of them were so beautiful for her.
And seeing that image of those three women wearing them, she knew that Jason had gifted them to those women. Jason has spent millions on those women. Why them?! He had never spent millions on her!
What the hell was happening?!
