Church of the God of Wisdom.

Core Area, Alex’s Room.

After an entire day of pretending to be nice and singing melodies to deceive the innocent people, Alex felt exhausted.

Thus, after eating his fill, he came back to his room straight away and lay down on his bed.

He covered himself with the silky-smooth quilt, and a relaxed smile appeared on his face as he closed his eyes in satisfaction.

After nearly a month of hard work, the church and its situation have changed greatly in the city of Ilma.

When Alex first came to the church, his room lacked many luxurious items, and he didn’t even have good-quality tea for him to enjoy.

But today, everything had changed. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

The church had become famous in the entire city of Ilma overnight!

Not only was the faith of the god of wisdom spread far and wide, but also the influence of the church increased as many rich and powerful people of the city rushed to give donations and visit the church!

All the old things in Alex’s room were replaced with brand-new luxurious items, and he could finally sleep on the same soft and smooth pillow that the original Alex used to sleep on in the royal palace!

The church got showered with money from the donations of the believers and finally had enough money to renovate the entire church!

With enough money and influence in hand, Alex issued the order as he ordered Ethan to gather people to renovate the church and ask the pope for instructions.

Aside from his own daily training, Alex was busy with constantly reading the books from the grand library and also making wicked plans to take over the city of Ilma.

So, he didn’t have the time to personally watch over the renovation project of the Church of Wisdom.

Thus, he left this task to the old pope, who had nothing else to do at the moment beside praying and wandering around in the church all day long.

Moreover, since the old pope was currently the most knowledgeable about the cultural architecture that fitted the god of wisdom church, it was a good choice to put him in charge of the project.

There were plenty of good architects and engineers among the believers of the god of wisdom; thus, Alex employed them all for free by giving them the right to read books related to architecture and engineering stored in the library.

Obviously, Alex wasn’t going to allow so many people to enter the grand library, but he managed to find a way around to make the situation possible.

He found that books that didn’t hold important secrets about nations and other high-level knowledge could actually be taken out of the library by him.

And as long as he didn’t try to leave the church with them, you can carry the books around anywhere inside the church.

Alex himself had brought a few books to his room to read at night before sleeping.

Oddly enough, Ethan and the others couldn’t bring even the most useless books out of the library, but Alex could easily do it.

Which clearly showed that Alex’s authority in the library was really high compared to everyone else for some reason.

This even made Alex feel confused about whether the god of wisdom himself really favored him or whether he was the one who brought him to this world in the first place.

But there was no way to find an answer for those questions, so he had no other choice but to put them aside for now.

Knowing the worth of those books, Alex asked Ethan and the others to empty a hall of the church and turned it into a dedicated place for reading books!

In that hall believers of the church could sit and read books anytime any day they wanted; the only restriction was that they couldn’t take the book back home with them and were only allowed to stay for three hours at most in one day.

In simple terms, Alex literally opened a small-scale teaching institute in his own backyard, and he used the knowledge as a payment method to fund the church’s renovations!

This not only saved a lot of money but also allowed Alex to spend more on durable building materials instead!

Alex’s plan was to modify the church of wisdom in such a way that even if thousands of people came and went every day, it would still not get too crowded inside.

For this, Alex even bought a lot of empty land and some abandoned houses located adjacent to the church and flattened them to add that land into the church’s land.

’After this project is done... I will have to make smaller churches in other places of the city too...’

The city of Ilma was very big, and even if Alex increased the size of the church, it would still not be able to contain too many people; thus, it’s better to open smaller churches in other places to divert the crowd to other places!

Having a lot of believers also brought Alex the opportunity to expand the manpower of the church, and in the past month he has already recruited dozens of people just to manage the church.

Aside from workers, the church has gained quite a few new priests and sisters in the past few days, but they are still new and aren’t as devoted as Ethan and the Pope.

So, they aren’t able to contribute to the production of Divine Healing Potions; thus, the scarcity of those potions still remains the same for the time being.

But Alex was not too worried; he knew that this scarcity would also be dealt with eventually as the size and influence of the church increased.

’Compared to the first day when the members of the church were eating cheap food... the situation has certainly improved tremendously in just a matter of a single month...’

’But still, we have a long way to go... this is just the beginning of the grand crusade that I have started...’

With various thoughts in his head, Alex drifted off into sleep.
