The Power Of Wrath-Chapter 21: Grand Priestess
Chapter 21: Grand Priestess
Not long after the man on the throne spoke, a haggard looking man whom Rio would recognize as the good Samaritan that led him to this village was dragged into the centre of the hall before the eyes of all.
His hands and feet were bound and he was made to kneel before the throne.
"Sire shouldn't we wait for the grand priestess," one of the men dressed in silk said taking a step forward but a glance from the king had him quickly retreating with a respectful bow of his head.
"Sire"

"Kalios, why did you lead this curse to our home"
The man Kalios was out of breath and fearful when he was dropped to his knees but after hearing the question from the man above his eyes lit like he had seen salvation.
"My king I did not mean to lead him here, I merely ran back to relay the news of what had happened to Challan's team and inform you of the threat we were going to face. I thought I had shaken him off, I had no idea he was following after me."
"Is that the truth or did you run back here to preserve your life, not caring for the consequences to the village.'
"Never," Kalios said dropping his head to the floor, "My wife and children live here. How can I dare put their safety to the test?
Had I known the enemy was still after me, I would have stood and taken my own life. "
"So, you agree to be careless"
"I cannot deny being careless Your Majesty but I assure you it was for a good reason, I had to come back to deliver critical information."
"And that would be," the king asked his eyes narrowing.
"The enemy's overreaching power sire, he is strong beyond reason. We thought we could overwhelm him with our numbers, but not only was he stronger than our combined might, but he could turn himself to fire, take to the skies and descend on us like the demonic birds spoken of in tales.
Our attacks did nothing to him, he is a being made not of flesh but of cursed fire"
Done talking, while Kalios remained with his head pressed to the ground, praying to any god that would listen that he got to see the light of the tomorrow, the words he had spoken started several mutterings within the halls, fear appearing on the faces of its inhabitant but then the loud tap of a staff sounded out and everyone went silent.
"You shouldn't lie to his majesty"
These words were spoken by a tall mature dark-haired woman who seemed to be just about 34 and was in the prime of her motherly beauty.
She had several piercings around her ears, pieces of jewellery around her neck and wrist, and a veil over her head. She had on a white gown which covered up the whole of her body but had a long partition at the front that went all the way down her stomach and revealed large portions of her big jutting breasts.
She moved bare feet with a staff much taller than her in hand and her every step though gentle had the flesh on her chest jiggling up and down.
"My king why did you not wait for me"
"Grand priestess, a summon to the throne room was made several minutes ago, yet you are late"
The king fixed a hard stare on the woman as he spoke, but rather than be intimidated, she remained calm.
"Your father's illness acted up and I had to be with him, providing the light to guide him from the sand of the water of death back to the Island of life.
I apologize for my tardiness"
When the woman gave her apology, she slowly bowed and as she did, the eyes of all the men in the room including the reluctant king could not help but go to her huge mounds which was revealed as she stooped over, the clothes around her chest falling downward.
There were some seconds of silence as the grand priestess gave her sincere apology and by the time she stood up straight, the expression on the king's face had softened.
"Approach"
With these words the grand priestess sashayed forwards, making her movements a melody and only stopping when she stood beside Kalios.
"Kalios, why did you lie to our King"
"I did not grand priestess," Kalios said raising his head and looking at the beautiful woman with a desperate flee, but unfortunately for him, her beauty did not define her heart.
With a sneer she lifted her staff and without a word brought it down, piercing it through the back of his head and out the forehead.
Everyone in the hall swallowed, the lust which they gazed upon the woman with becoming tainted with fear.
It wasn't that her brutality wasn't known about, but rather that it had only been read about. In several decades, this was the first time it was being seen.
"It would seem the grand priestess already has a solution for the problem" the man on the throne said resting his back on his seat of power.
"Of course, your majesty, how could I come unprepared."
"Well let's hear it then. What do the spirits have to say. How do we get rid of the two-headed demon spirit and clean out this land"
"I am the medium through which the spirits of our ancestors communicate with us your majesty, and you are the hand by which they act.
Smith the vile being and its taint will be eradicated from the land"
The hall went silent as the grand priestess spoke, but after some seconds, one of the last three men who had entered the hall stepped forward.
"Is that all grand priestess? The two-headed beast is the child of the devil, the last time it appeared it brought a disastrous plague and turned our great country into this pitiful village, will it be so simple.":
The man who stepped forward had long black hair rightly tied to the back, he had several scars around his body and a sharp glint in his eyes but when the grand priestess turned to him, he stumbled backwards and fell on his butt
"Commander, are you calling my words to doubt or questioning the ability of our king, questioning his blessing from the ancestors and our guardian spirits"
"None grand priestess" The man gritted out seemingly in pain, his body trembling and it was only when the busty woman looked away from him that he calmed down.
"My king," The beauty slightly bowed as she faced the throne, availing herself of any question.
"What of the man that moves with the curse, the one Kalios claims to be the embodiment of fire"
"As I said my king, Kalios lies, He is no fiery being but an agent of our enemies, before your might he is nothing." the woman said.
