Chapter 238: The News about an Interview

Rory moaned as Liam, with a grunt, released inside her. She slid down on his lap and rested on his shoulder as he wrapped his arm around her back.

"That was good..." she breathed amidst her gasping for breath.

She did all the work as they were constrained, but it was so damn good. Liam kissed her ears. He always loved it when she did everything. It’s been a while since he was pleased without working much.

And after she’s finished, she would lie on his chest like a sweet little thing. He loved it when he could smell her hair just as they finish doing it. She would smell so exotic.

He saw some movement in the rearview mirror and immediately covered her with his jacket. She was not undressed completely but he did that out of instinct.

"What...?" Rory lifted her head as he went into defensive mode. "Wait... is there someone watching us?" she asked burying herself into his chest.

Liam was still staring at the rearview mirror. "Fix your clothes," he said gritting his teeth.

Rory got down from him and got to the next seat. Although he was mad, she knew that he was not mad at her but at someone else. She quickly fixed her clothes.

Liam opened the door and stepped down. "Must you do this?" she asked holding his hand.

She didn’t know what or who he saw, but she didn’t think that allowing her hot-headed husband to leave when he is mad is not a good thing.

He flicked her hand off and walked to the back. "Hey! Stop running! Hey!" Liam started to run.

Rory sighed hearing another set of footfalls. She searched inside the car and found the gun Liam has and waited to see if she hears anything.

She could run behind Liam but that would distract him and put his life in danger. She didn’t know if the person Liam is chasing has a weapon or not. But she was fairly certain that it was the paparazzi. If Liam needs help, she knew he will call for her.

Rory looked out of the window. Liam almost got to the exit of the parking lot. He caught the guy who was carrying a big bag and a scuffle ensued.

"Give the camera, f*cking d*chebag!" Liam grabbed the other man by the collar.

Camera?

Rory’s heart skipped a beat. She got down from the car and walked to the scuffle.

"Hand over the camera," she shouted releasing the safety of the gun.

The man wearing a beanie looked at her shocked. "You cannot do that!" He shouted but his hands raised above his head reflexively.

"The camera!" Rory shouted. "You are harassing us by following us to our private parking spot! Now hand over your camera. He’ll delete the pictures and return your camera," Rory explained.

The last person and the first person she shot was Lennon. But she did not want to do it again. She was threatening the photographer to give his camera up.

But if he dared to do something to her husband, she will shoot without any hesitation. She is not going to let anything stand in the way of her family’s safety.

"Nope!" Rory took a step forward as the photographer tried to turn. "Don’t make this harder for yourself, Mister. Just hand over your camera. I don’t want to shoot you. But I’m afraid I can’t let you leave not knowing~"

"I didn’t take any pictures of you inside the car. I just took the pictures of the car, that’s it. I’m not stupid to photograph a married couple f*cking in a car like broke high school students..." he shouted gritting his teeth. Even in his fear, he was angry.

Rory got madder. They did it in the car, not because of their economical constraints, but because of their wish. How can he mock them for it?

"Shoot him, Aurora," Liam said. He refrained from using his pet name for her in front of a pap. She appreciated that.

Rory pointed the gun squarely at the photographer’s face.

"No... No..." the photographer got scared and handed over his camera to Liam.

Liam went through his pictures while Rory was still holding the gun in her hand. He truly didn’t take any pictures of them. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

"You cannot take pictures of my car’s number plate. It’s dangerous," Liam deleted all the pictures he took of their car.

Rory hoped Liam does not break the camera out of anger. He didn’t. He even returned the camera back to the photographer.

"I’m going to call the cops on you crazy people!" he shouted as he ran away.

Rory and Liam returned to their home. Cops were not involved and that gave them relief. That guy must have been too scared to involve the cops.

Rory expected some bad articles depicting them as trigger-happy lunatics, but there was no mention of that incident.

"He might be a freelancer not working for any specific outlet," Liam mused.

Rory too found it plausible. He must have been someone who wanted to get a quick buck by snapping pictures of them.

The next trial date was set two weeks from the previous trial and Liam often went out for his work. Rory stayed in the penthouse with Ellie.

She was contacted by Matt, the prosecutor to rethink her decision not to testify. He was not giving up. He even sent her a set of questions she needed to be ready to answer when she testifies.

She could only roll her eyes. He was so sure that she will testify when she never promised anything. But she did give a quick read.

It does not hurt to be prepared.

That day, Liam informed her that the "photographer" they captured that day was caught visiting Lennon.

Rory’s heart skipped a beat. Lennon still is stalking them. This time he is using others. Liam told her that he had gotten a restraining order against that guy and that made Rory a bit relieved.

They were informed that Sidney went to visit Lennon a day back. And some of their informants told them that Sidney is in contact with the producer of an interview program that gets broadcast at prime time.

Rory had a feeling that it was not going to be good.

Liam tried his best to have the prosecutors talk Sidney out of that stupid idea. But Sidney was not listening. She didn’t allow to be coached by the prosecutors too.

She wanted to speak "her truth".

And that’s when Rory was sure that Sidney is going to go on a jealous rant against her on TV. She didn’t mind that.

But wouldn’t it help Lennon?

She could never accept that.
