The SSS Ranked Demon King Goes to the Hero Academy-Chapter 52: Fighting the Monsters of the Cracks. (3)
Before Gerald could react, another of the heads opened its jaws, and from it shot a sphere of darkness.
This sphere of darkness was launched at full speed against the necks of two other heads.
The spheres seemed to act like a small black hole that swallowed scales and flesh from the neck of two of the dead heads.
At the same time, a last head also opened its jaws, firing solid light rays which impacted against the last dead heads and cut them.
"Shit, this is going to get ugly," the young man complained, seeing how the stumps of each head were starting to move. "Quick! Cauterize the wound!"
The boy ordered with a shout.
Ariel seemed to understand what Gerald meant because she began manipulating the fire tornado to move toward the beasts’ necks.
However, the darkness head opened its jaws aiming at the tornado, as if wanting to prevent it.
But before it could make its attack, the orc with the chain shook the chain, spun it at great speed, and threw it at the monster’s head.
The chain coiled around its jaw, closing its jaws, allowing the fire tornado to approach those stumps, starting to char some.
Marshmallow also joined in, firing an electric ray at another of the flesh stumps that were moving.
Upon doing so and the wound being charred, the stump stopped moving. That was a good sign.
However, the hydra wasn’t going to make it that easy.
The goblin shamans began conjuring a spell seeking to summon a fireball to cauterize the hydra’s cut necks.
However, one of the hydra’s heads opened its mouth wide and fired hundreds of solidified light rays.
The light attacks pierced through the magical barrier and struck the shamans head-on, perforating and piercing their bodies.
"Shit," Gerald cursed, who had fallen to the ground from the fright of seeing those projectiles fired.
The hydra wasn’t going to be defeated so easily.
Meanwhile, another of the heads emitted a concentrated sound wave that struck the tornado, destabilizing it and finally undoing it.
Then the hydra "fell" from the crack.
Its immense and heavy body fell from that spatial fissure onto the ship’s deck.
The heroes had to react quickly to get out of its "landing area," though unfortunately the orc with the mace couldn’t react in time and was crushed.
When the hydra’s heavy body fell, it made the entire deck rumble.
It was a gigantic reptile body, four legs and a tail that moved like a whip.
The monster was enormous. It almost didn’t fit on the ship’s deck, however it still seemed to move well.
Quickly the hydra’s necks began to regenerate, and as in legend, now two heads emerged instead of just one.
"Shit," Gerald cursed quietly, seeing that in the end the hydra had managed to regenerate three of its heads, which were now six more heads.
This had become much more complicated.
The hydra looked at its enemies with eyes that shone like red suns, analyzing its next strategy.
The number of heads had increased, because each regenerated head multiplied by two, though at least three of them had been completely defeated.
Though the hydra’s number of heads was back to nine, which was depressing.
"Any plan, four-eyes?" Ariel asked as she flew mounted on her wand converted to a staff.
Gerald clicked his tongue annoyed.
At least this time she hadn’t called him fat.
"Nothing new to add. Let’s try to finish off the heads as soon as possible," Gerald indicated as he began to move.
What was the best troop to deal with the hydra?
If only he had stronger summons, fighting monsters like this wouldn’t be so difficult.
Unfortunately, his best summons weren’t available at that moment.
Meanwhile, the hydra whose mouth had been grabbed by the orc moved its neck to lift the green-skinned warrior and throw him at another of the heads.
Quickly, two of the hydra’s heads lunged at the orc. One bit its head and another its legs.
Both pulled on two parts of the orc, completely tearing it apart.
There were no more orc warriors alive in combat.
The hydra meanwhile began to attack.
Two heads began spitting a stream of fire toward Noelia, who didn’t take long to act and manipulated the texture of the surface she was on, making a pillar grow under her feet.
The flames passed by, or rather struck where the girl had been, however they began melting the pillar’s base, which began bending to one side.
The girl just let the pillar fall and jumped at the last second to get to safety.
Meanwhile, two heads opened their jaws, expelling from their mouths a barrage of rays directed at Ariel.
Luckily, Marshmallow acted quickly, positioning itself between the ray attack and Ariel.
The cherub absorbed the electricity from the attack, swelling even more.
Residual electricity was still dancing and running through its fluff, which resembled a cloud.
The girl smiled at her friend’s help, which had served her multiple times.
However, at that moment, another pair of jaws opened, and from them came a large amount of pressurized water.
The water collided with the cherub, who swelled even more until reaching a limit, then expelled all the water.
Its fluff was wet now. Instead of being a beautiful cloud, it now resembled an old rag hanging from the cherub.
"Darn," the cherub cursed, now defenseless without its fluff armor.
It was at that moment when the two heads that were spitting fire changed the direction of the flame stream and aimed at the cherub.
"No!" Ariel realized this and acted quickly, changing the music her staff emitted.
However, at that instant a stream of concentrated sound was sent against her, destabilizing her and causing her to be slammed against the Argos’s "ceiling."
Unable to defend her friend, the stream of flames continued its course toward Marshmallow, hitting it head-on.
The scorching flame blast struck the cherub directly, igniting its wet fluff in an instant.
All before Ariel’s helpless gaze.
