The SSS Ranked Villain's Return-Chapter 151: The Black Knight
"I’m asking just in case..." Neraxis trailed off, cutting down a few skeletons before putting his attention back on Jane. "You don’t happen to have some undead-killing skills?"
"I do... but they take too long to cast," Jane replied with hesitation. "Also... I don’t think it will be able to kill those strong skeletons over there."
"It’s fine. Merely imbuing my attacks with your light magic is enough to kill them pretty easily. But we do need to up our pace," Neraxis said, narrowing his eyes.
The Black Knight was slowly striding closer, while the Skeletal Legion merely stood by the hole in the wall, not entering the city.
It was troublesome, to say the least, and this was happening all around the city.
Therefore, he needed to speed things up.
Neraxis took a deep breath before stepping back, and once he did, he brought the sword forward, thrusting with all of his strength and using {Simple Stab}.

In an instant, an entire line of skeletons was decimated. However, not even a few moments later, more began pouring in.
How am I supposed to protect everyone for four more hours? Neraxis thought with a conflicted look.
The only option he could think of was to kill the necromancer. However, he was nowhere in sight.
"Neraxis! I have an idea!" Jane yelled, getting his attention. "Take me to the bell tower from earlier! I could infuse light into the bell, and every time it rings, it should freeze those undead!"
There’s that hidden mechanic. Neraxis let out a relieved sigh and dashed back toward her before picking Jane up in a princess carry again.
He did not waste any time and leaped onto a nearby roof before running toward the bell tower in the distance.
Meanwhile, the guards—especially the one who was overly protective of Jane—were dealing with the skeletons.
Soon, Neraxis arrived at the bell tower and gently placed Jane beside it.
Immediately, she put her hands onto the bell, and in the very next moment, a bright golden light enveloped it.
"I’m done," she exclaimed, her feet staggering.
"Already...?" Neraxis caught her, still a bit skeptical.
However, despite the speed, the bell’s color changed to golden. Therefore, he decided to test it out.
Bringing his hand forward, he pushed the bell.
But the loud noise he was expecting to hear was simply not there.
Yet, as he thought it did not work, a trail of mana shot out from the bell, heading in all directions, as though a shockwave.
It enveloped every single skeleton, and Neraxis’s eyes widened when they suddenly began dropping to the ground, their bones turning to dust.
That’s very effective... but she looks too exhausted to support me. Neraxis thought, turning to Jane. "I don’t need any healing anymore, Jane. Instead, I want you to ring this bell as frequently as you can."
"I can’t..." She shook her head. "I can only ring this bell four more times before the whole thing breaks, and when that happens..."

"I understand," Neraxis replied with a frown. "Nonetheless, stay here and use this bell once the other walls are breached."
Before she could protest, he dropped down and surfed through the rooftops before finally arriving back at the wall.
Once he did, Neraxis had a pretty interesting idea.
If the monsters were able to collapse the bottom of the wall to create a hole for themselves, why didn’t he collapse the top onto them?
It would buy him time, and that’s exactly what he needed.
Therefore, Neraxis ignored the dazed Skeletal Legion and scaled the wall upward.
Once he finally arrived at the top, Neraxis looked down to the other side, his eyes widening.
Even though it looked like the bell destroyed a lot of those skeletons, he could see at least twice the number approaching from the distance
He did not bother with that and merely placed his hand onto the ground, carefully using {Aura of the Abyss}, destroying only a certain part of the structure and leaving the rest.
Soon, the wall shook before it suddenly fell, crushing the skeletons below it.
As for the portion of the wall to the sides? It was still stable, thankfully.
However, something else entirely caught his focus.
[Skeleton King Rise Eminent!]
[ETA: 10 Minutes]
Oh, come on... an even stronger enemy. Neraxis grumbled and glanced at the timer.

Nonetheless, he decided it was best to deal with the main issue at hand—that being the Black Knight, who had been staring at him all this time.
Neraxis locked eyes with it, and in the very next moment, he used {Sword Dash}, appearing right in front of it and slashing down.
However, unlike the other skeletons wielding swords, the Black Knight merely pulled out its purple sword and redirected Neraxis’s attack sideways.
All the while, it had not gotten off its horse.
"I assume you can talk?" Neraxis mused out loud. "Care to tell me where your master is?"
"I’m afraid not, human." The Black Knight shook its head. "Your weapon intrigues me. What is it? It feels like a sword, yet it’s alive... Interesting."
"I’ll tell you if you tell me where your master is," Neraxis said with a chuckle. "Guess neither of us are getting what we want."
"It appears so," the Black Knight affirmed before gently kicking its horse’s side, rotating it toward Neraxis.
Feeling the tension growing, Neraxis decided to make the first move.
Using {Eve of Ruin: Mark of Destruction}, a silver orb soon appeared around the Black Knight, and just as Neraxis was about to begin attacking, something unbelievable happened.
The Black Bnight stretched out its purple sword and sliced the air.
However, that slice was directly where his orb was invisibly floating, causing the orb to dissipate like a balloon.
[Skill Failure!]
"You..." A serious look appeared on Neraxis’s face.
It seemed like he had underestimated the opponent way too much.
"Measly tricks like that won’t work on me, human," the Black Knight taunted and slashed its sword downward.
In an instant, Neraxis’s eyes widened, and he immediately used his {Aura of the Abyss} option to manipulate the laws of the world. In this case, he made the Black Knight’s sword strike lose momentum before stopping completely.
"Oh? Now that trick is actually original."
"..." Neraxis stared at the Black Knight, all the while fighting back the massive headache.
However, this fight would not be easy.
After all, this Black Knight seemed to be A+ ranked, or even worse, S- ranked.
[He’s still A+, but... The Skeleton King will likely be even stronger, Neraxis... I think you should just quit this trial. You might die,] Evangeline commented, worry clearly present in her tone.
I’ll kill it and survive, don’t worry, he assured, and in the very next moment, attacked.
Using {Crimson Sovereignty: Shadow Mantle}, Neraxis became immune to physical attacks for the next five seconds, all the while, each of his strikes inflicted the Blinding curse.
He thrust the sword forward toward the horse, and just like before, right as it was about to hit, the Black Knight redirected it again.
But this time, Neraxis reduced the impact of the redirection enough to slash again in the next instant.
However, while his pace kept increasing, it felt like the Black Knight was merely playing around with him, as no matter the speed of his attacks, it was always just fast enough to redirect them.
Evangeline... Can we do that thing we did earlier?
[Sex? Right now?] She asked, stunned.
What? No. he replied with wide eyes. I want to envelop the sword with {Aura of the Abyss}. Can you make that possible?
Evangeline let out an embarrassed giggle. [Yeah, of course.]
Neraxis expected it to happen the same way as it did in the trials, with the black mana from his hands traveling up the sword.
However, he was met with something else instead—something that shocked both him and Evangeline.
...Huh?
[Huh?]
