The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 113: Ch : Lynn’s invitation- Part 2
"Oh dear-! Looks like they fainted. I will ask Ben to take care of them and lock them up for now. As much as I don’t want to do this, I cannot overlook what they tried to do either. Are you both alright?"
Emma quickly walked over to us and noticed what had happened. She did not look happy as she saw the unconscious people on the floor.
But she looked more worried about myself and Theo than the unconscious customers.
Lynn, who had yet to interfere again, decided to lend more of his help.
"Don’t worry about it all now. I will ask our guild’s lawyers to help out because this case partially happened because of me."
Emma did not look happy for some reason to have that offer, but she did not reject the offer as well.
Then, Lynn turned to look at me with a smile.
"Ah, now for the real reason I came here. I came here because I needed you to come with me, Kyle. It’s time for us to investigate the association fire case."
The alpha told me as he extended his hand toward me.
I only gave that hand a disdain-filled look before I walked past him.
"In that case, let’s head out now. You also better arrange for good help for Emma and the others. It’s a busy day for us all."
I told the alpha and he just chuckled as his hand was ignored.
"Ah-! I understand. Don’t worry. I have more than a few people in mind to help out here."
Lynn assured me as he followed after me.
As we walked out, I felt my eyes turning back to take a look around one last time and my eyes met Theo’s. They looked considerably darker than I had seen before and something about those eyes looked... non-human.
I felt a shiver go down my spine and I wanted to turn around to take a look once more.
But as soon as I decided to do that, Lynn wrapped his arms around me and decided to drag me along.
"Let’s get going. We have no time to waste here. You will surely get your chance to talk things out with your friends later."
Lynn told me and I decided that he was right. I needed to focus on what was important at the moment.
We entered the Luminous Guild through the front door but Lynn had let go of me long before. It suddenly made me realize that our pose together looked very suggestive.
"Lynn, about the rumors—"
"Let’s not worry about it at all. People can say what they want to say, but that won’t change anything about us. Moreover, the rumor mill is too strong. It would be better to let them cook up something rather than to find the truth, right?"
The alpha told me and I hated that his words made sense in my mind. I could not find it in myself to refute what he had just told me.
"You are... right. I guess we have no choice but to let people talk for now. But we should still enter a little bit after each other."
That part I was adamant about and Lynn finally gave in.
"Alright, I understand. In that case, I will wait for you in the lift. You can just follow my scent."
The alpha told me and I felt my face feeling hot as he instructed me to follow his scent. Mainly because it was something lovers told each other when they played around or courted.
’Don’t get too ahead of yourself. This is for the sake of keeping the public in the dark. There is no larger meaning behind Lynn’s words. I need to keep my composure.’
I sighed and gave the alpha a nod.
"I will be right behind you."
I assured him and the alpha entered the lobby first. I waited for about 5 minutes before I entered as well and I followed the scent trail left behind by Lynn.
The lady at the reception table looked at me with a startled expression. She was the same person who had not given me access to Lynn’s room when I asked for it during my delivery.
’Should I wave at her to make her feel uncomfortable? Ah, I should let it go for now. We don’t have any time.’
Ultimately, that was what things came down to and I sighed before turning my head away from the lady and following the scent trail left behind.
I found the alpha quickly and he seemed to be waiting for me as well.
"You are finally here. No one gave you any trouble, right? You can tell me and I will give them a small ’talk’."
The alpha assured me but I was not in a mood to play along with him.
"No, everything is fine. Let’s head inside first and talk about what happened. Also, whom did you send to help out in the PC Cafe?"
I asked, feeling curious about the identity of the mysterious helper... not that I would know even if Lynn told me who the other person was.
But the smile on Lynn’s face was devious and I had a feeling that it would have been better for me not to have asked such a question.
"Ah, about that? I will be glad to tell you. You see, a certain firecracker wanted to help me out, no matter what the work was, so I asked for a favor. And Rhiner, as her supervisor, had to accompany her."
The firecracker must be referring to Kesha, the ranked #10 hunter. I had a vague memory of who she was and what she wanted.
But even I could not recall it properly because I was too busy at that time to think properly... not that it was the important part.
"You sent... that hunter Kesha as help? You do realize that working in a PC Cafe means that we have to serve customers. Her temper... did not strike me as the ideal personality type to fit in the service industry."
I reminded the alpha hunter and he just chuckled, as if he found the situation amusing.
"Hmm, is that so? Kesha always struck me as a good person though, so I am sure you are mistaken about her. I’m sure she will do a decent job... even if she has no experience."
The alpha tried to assure me but I did not feel too reassured. In the end, he finally decided to tell me the real reason he was not worried.
"Rhiner is with her. He can control Kesha better than any of us can. You can leave it all up to the two of them and just relax for now."
’Ah, so there was a reason Lynn did not look worried. For now, I shall leave things up to him, I guess. There is nothing else I can do anyway.’
I followed the alpha hunter into his room. The alpha had an almost strained expression when he saw me enter the room. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
"What? Why are you giving me that look for?"
I asked as I sat down in front of him and Lynn just sighed once more.
"Sorry, I need time to adjust. Having an unmated omega in my room is not easy for me."
