Chapter 188: Ch 188: The Final Dungeon- Part 4

"Rudy, is the weapon ready? We need to get started on spinning the loom now."

Rina asked her fellow high priest, but the lazy man just waved his hand at her as he continued to sip his tea.

"It’s going as fast as it can, Rina. Can’t you see for yourself? Your impatience won’t bring our plan’s end any sooner."

Rudy told the female and she frowned at his care-free nature before she looked at the loom as well.

The loom was a gift from their leader to them, and also the final part of their plan to change the world forever.

The loom was a device which could reweave the fabric of space and time. It had more than enough power to combat the entity that was binding their master and allow him to start fresh.

In short, it would allow their master to rewrite fate and erase any tragedy that happened. Rina would finally be able to get her home back.

Most of the high-priests and priestesses, including her, were people who had already lost their dimension to the balance, but accidentally became too powerful to be erased.

So, as a result, the balance allowed them to be reborn as dungeon deities that assisted the gods and spread their fate. If not for their lord, then none of the high priests would be alive.

"Anyway, Rina, what do you think about this plan? Do you think it will allow you to start anew? Or, are we heading toward our own end?"

Rudy asked her in a serious voice. He did not look like the playful person she had come to know him as and her question made Rina frown.

"What does that even mean? Aren’t we clear on what this loom is for? It will allow us to weave the fabric of the past and we can all start fresh in our worlds. This time, I will make sure to not lose my world."

She was certain that with her newfound powers as well as her lord’s blessing, she would be able to protect her world.

But Rudy just gave her a sorry smile.

"Oh, I recall that you don’t really know the ’true’ nature of our Lord here. You still think he’s the good guy."

Rudy told her and Rina froze before she looked at him. She grabbed his collar and shook him to make him confess what he needed to.

"What are you saying? Tell me clearly. Right now."

She demanded and Rudy placed his hand on top of Rina’s to push her hand away from harming him.

He coughed to get his breath back before he gave her a glare.

"Do not touch me casually like that. As for what I mean—do you truly not know what I mean? Then, let me tell you this clearly—our lord is not a good person. In fact, he might be the very reason your world got destroyed and erased in the first place—"

"Don’t say such nonsense. Do you truly think I will just sit here and listen to you yapping about our lord like that? If you don’t want to lose your tongue, then hold it in."

Rina seemed to have lost her mind as she raised her weapon and pointed it toward Rudy. Rudy just chuckled at her actions before he raised his hand and backed off.

"Alright, you win. I won’t bring it up again. But Rina, make sure you do get your facts straight before you make any decision. I am standing on our lord’s side even after I know everything he did. But you are different. And if you don’t act fast, you might not get another chance to change your fate."

Rudy told Rina and she gritted her teeth before she turned around to leave. She was too fast for Rudy to follow so he just watched her leave.

Then, he turned back toward the plan he was working on.

"Rina would need some time. But I do hope she quickly self-destructs. That way, all of our lord’s attention would be on me and I will become the sole person to be able to help him out. Maybe I will even be able to make him forget about Ace... let’s forget that train of thought."

Rudy quickly talked himself out of those destructive thoughts, and instead, he focused on what was important at the moment—the dungeon.

________

"The dungeon has started to shake and the monsters are getting stronger. What should we do? We cannot keep up with the number..."

Someone yelled as they almost got adorned by the monsters. But my familiar exploded, giving the man time to escape.

I was helping out as much as I could from the second base, but I could tell that we were losing more and more people.

When I could finally take it no more, I pushed myself to stand on my feet and head out. Rhiner noticed and quickly came toward me.

"Where are you heading toward? You are needed on stand-by for the second team. Just go and sit back down."

He told me and I felt my irritation spike.

I would have snapped at anyone at that moment, but Rhiner chose himself to be my unwilling victim.

"Let me go—! I said, let me go. I am not going to stay here much longer. People are dying out there, and I need to leave right now—" 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

A sudden cough interrupted me as I felt my chest clench painfully. It caused me to almost collapse but Rhiner caught me before my body hit the ground. His arms tightened around me for a second before he let me go with a worried look on his face.

"Ace, are you alright? What happened? Can you speak?"

Rhiner asked me while turning me up and down, but I just pushed him back and somehow got myself back under control.

"I am fine. I just need to leave now if I want to help everyone else out."

I told him but Rhiner seemed adamant in holding me back.
