The Unvanquished: Child of Nihility-Chapter 72: Assembly of the Unique Class
(Chapter 72 – Assembly of the Unique Class)
The silver moon hung high over Eden Domineer Academy, casting long, solemn shadows across the Southern Region.
Beneath a silent silverwood tree in the gardens, Morca sat alone, the cool breeze brushing through his ink-black hair.
He stared at the system notification still hovering faintly in his mind.
---
[System Mission Notification]
[Main Mission: "Admit into Eden Domineer Academy Unique Class" – Complete.]
Rewards Unlocked:
• +1500 EXP
• +10 to All Attributes
Special Reward:
• Bloodline Core Integration Progress +3%
• +5 to All Attributes
• +1000 EXP
Mission Remark 1: Exceptional – (Slaying a 3-Star monster while being Saint Rank Expert) – system recognizes host’s progress.
Mission Remark 2: System is satisfied with host’s second trial: triggered an anomaly result, awakened the Reaper, triggered academy unrest, gained the observation of the Monument Tower.
Note: Rewards should have been more but were reduced.
Reason: Host fell unconscious before the survival trial ended. Child of Nihility never falls in battle. He seduces battle and stands unvanquished among foes and friends.
Warning: Should this happen again in future missions, rewards will be void.
[Claim now: yes / no] (Choose within 1 minute or system will auto-select ’yes’ option.)

Seeing these, shock stirred within him – this was the first time the system ever issued a direct warning – cold, but blood-boiling.
’I really need to be conscious next time during battle... especially under a system mission,’ Morca thought grimly as he re-read the mission rewards.
’Even though they were reduced, the rewards are still satisfying... but what would the full reward have been?’
His blood boiled just imagining it – he was satisfied, yes, but who didn’t always want more?
A small smile tugged at his lips.
Finally, his eyes settled on the special reward: ’Huh? Bloodline Core Integration? What’s tha–’
Before he could finish the thought, the timer struck zero and the system automatically selected yes.
A soft warmth surged through his limbs – subtle yet invigorating. The invisible shackles around his being loosened slightly, and a faint hum pulsed through his veins, muscles, and mind.
He could feel the evolution taking place inside him – silent but profound.
It didn’t take long before the process ended.
After sitting silently for a few minutes, letting the night breeze cool his skin, Morca rose to his feet.
The stars gleamed like cold sentinels above Eden.
Without a word, he made his way back toward the New Recruit Living Quarters.
---
Late Night – New Recruit Quarters
The facility was silent, the heavy atmosphere of the day’s ceremony still lingering like mist in the cool air.
The automatic doors slid open with a soft hiss as Morca entered his room.
A simple bed. A narrow study table and chair. A folded academy uniform neatly laid out.
He changed into a loose black training shirt and dark pants, sitting cross-legged atop the bed. Breathing slow and steady, he stared into the dim light.
Memories of the trials flashed through his mind –
The bone-devourer monsters.
The storm of death.
Laura’s silent support.
Jack’s calmness.
The physique test.
The unseen forces stirring around him.
A quiet breath escaped his lips.
"It’s time to check our growth," he muttered.
’Status.’

"So that’s it... Bloodline Core Fusion to trigger a special evolution, huh?, And the Physique... still remain unknown for now."
He glance at his stats surprisely.
"I’ve already maxed out the Saint Rank and Silver Rain Stage and my sta... Huh– Endurance, Intelligence, and Will – broke past the limit even before leveling up?. And Only Strength and Agility are lagging slightly. They’ll probably breach the limit once I ascend further."
He thought about it for a moment, then nodded.
"It all made sense, it must be connected to the Physique Trials... the Genetic Compatibility Test and the Comprehension Test." 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Calming his raging thoughts, Morca took a breath.
"Let’s try the second version of the Breathing Blood Codex effect," he murmured.
Although he wasn’t in battle, he could still cultivate – even if the effects are minimally – and test its effects before the beforehand, is the best option right now.
He closed his eyes and circulated his blood flow – but suddenly, his heartbeat accelerated as if about to lose control.
Immediately, he activated his Blank skill to stabilize it.
Slowly but surely, it worked – as blood and mana surged through his meridians, into his core – which is now shaded with deep crimson and black.
Indicating the influence of the Blood Core Integration was at work.

Tonight, there would be no dreams.
Only preparation.
He had crossed the first threshold.
Tomorrow... everything would shift again.

Next Morning
The golden sun broke over Eden’s towers, casting a radiant glow over the Southern Entrance Facilities.
Morca stood outside the New Recruit Quarters, dressed neatly – navy-blue pants, a fitted black top, and a silver-lined jacket.
Walking calmly through the crowd, he made his way toward the Silver-Class Teleportation Booth Station, located near the southern edge of the New Recruits’ Region.
A small line of new cadets gathered – the Unique Class members.
At the booth’s entrance, a stern-faced guard clad in standard navy-blue academy armor stood watch –yes! Guard, they were stationed here exclusively today to assist the new cadets to their respective regions and assembly halls. Since they hadn’t yet received their Permit Cards–
The guard glanced up when Morca approached.
"Name?"
"Morca Sherman," he replied calmly.
Scrolling through his device, a moment later he nodded, as he slid a silver permit across the scanner.
The device beeped once in approval.
"Proceed," the guard said, stepping aside.
The teleportation booth flared as Morca stepped inside alongside several others.
In groups of ten, they were being sent toward the Unique Class Assembly Hall–
---
The teleportation light faded, revealing a grand hall unlike anything the new recruits had yet seen.
The Unique Cadet Assembly Hall was circular, layered in rising tiers, crafted from a blend of obsidian stone and silver-veined crystal. Massive banners bearing the sigil of Eden Domineer Academy draped along the towering walls – a genetic symbol surrounded by seven swirling colored stars.
Above them, a massive transparent dome displayed the clear blue sky.
At the far end of the hall, an elevated stage awaited – simple, yet imposing.
And standing on that stage, arms folded behind his back, was a tall figure dressed in muted gray robes lined with black runes.
He wore a scholar’s simple mask over the lower half of his face, and his long white hair was tied neatly behind him. His sharp eyes, calm yet piercing, scanned the hall with composed authority.
To most, he appeared to be a senior instructor – cold, reserved, and unapproachable.
But Morca’s abyssal left eye stirred faintly as he gazed at him.
’There’s something about him... he feels strangely familiar.’ But with no clear proof, Morca pushed the thought aside.
He was the same man who had spoken to Principal Stuart the day before.
The disguised Emmett Lee.
---
As more Unique Class recruits materialized through the teleportation booths, the hall steadily filled with small crowd...
Jack Voidspace arrived, his white blindfold fluttering behind him like a banner of silent defiance.
Neo Laura followed, her black-red robe trailing behind her slender figure, the crimson designs along her sleeves catching the morning light.
Around Morca, familiar faces gathered – Gina Erickson, Mulan Night, Brian Magnus, Leo Mordric, Denis Sherman, Rider Wisewind, Karon Tarma, Tyler Sherman – and others.
The top twenty.
The elite among the elites.
Whispers broke out among them.
"That’s the new instructor?"
"He’s... weird."
"Never seen him before..."
"Wasn’t it supposed to be someone from the main instructor teams?"
"I thought it was the lady instructor in black-red from the welcoming ceremony yesterday."
"Something’s off..."
Morca said nothing, only watching the white-haired instructor silently.
---
Finally, when the last group had gather with the rest, the disguised Emmett Lee stepped forward.
The floor under his boots echoed slightly with each step – crisp, deliberate.
When he spoke, his voice was calm but commanding.
"Welcome, new members of Eden’s Unique Class."
No exaggerated words. No fiery speeches.
Just a simple declaration that carried undeniable weight.
"You have been chosen, not simply because you survived," Emmett Lee continued, "but because you showed... possibility."
He surveyed them slowly, letting his gaze fall on each cadet one by one.
Some stood straighter under that sharp gaze. Others flinched unconsciously.
"Possibility," he said again, his voice growing slightly heavier, "is a dangerous thing."
"You may think you have accomplished something. You may even think you are talented. But Eden demands more."
He pointed at the hall around them.
"This is where your true trial begins. The Unique Class is not for pride. It is not for admiration. It is for sharpening."
"For cutting away your weakness."
"For tempering you into something Eden can unleash against the monsters hiding behind the dungeon veil."
He paused slightly, his words sinking into the crowd.
"You will compete against each other. You will be forged in blood and exhaustion. You will rise – or you will be discarded."
Murmurs rippled across the assembly.
Jack Voidspace remained still, expression unreadable behind his blindfold.
Neo Laura’s half masked gaze gleamed faintly with hidden excitement.
Morca crossed his arms loosely, mismatched eyes calm and steady.
He had already expected this.
---
Emmett Lee’s lips curled faintly under his mask.
"I am your overseeing instructor. My name..." – he tapped the simple scholar’s mask on his face – "...is irrelevant."
"You may call me Mentor Gray."
A ripple of shock traveled through the cadets.
An unknown instructor?
Someone even the academy barely introduced?
Whispers surged through the hall again.
But Emmett Lee – Mentor Gray – paid them no mind.
---
"You will undergo your first true examination in a month from now," Mentor Gray announced.
"It will determine your class privileges, your resource access, and most importantly..." his voice dropped slightly, "...whether you deserve to stay."
He gestured toward a side entrance.
"Today, you are free. Explore your assigned living quarters. Memorize this facility. Form connections – if you are foolish enough to think alliances will save you."
"And tomorrow..." His eyes gleamed briefly behind the mask. "Tomorrow we begin our first class – Introduction."
