The Villain's Apocalypse-Chapter 23: Blade
Chapter 23: Blade
Chapter 23: Blade
"Hmm? What are you doing here? Didn't I tell you to guard the entrance?" Cassian spoke, noticing Leon's face right beside him.
He was staring at him as if something miraculous had occurred right before his eyes.
Leon, hearing his question, nodded his head and started explaining everything that had occurred to him.
The more Cassian listened, the more he felt shocked and awestruck. It felt like a dream, especially when he wasn't even conscious enough to learn about all the changes inside his body.
"What! I was dying!! And you did what!! Are you crazy!!" he felt his world spinning, hearing the full story through Leon's inner voice.
He had nearly died simply for sleeping in an unknown area inside the dungeon. He couldn't even imagine what would have happened if the entity had successfully trapped him in its illusion.
'I knew it. This place is crazy.' He felt a sudden sense of hurry after experiencing such a random near-death encounter.
"Leon, pack up." He ordered, turning toward him.
Leon simply blinked his eyes in response.
ughh...
He facepalmed, feeling Leon's innocent gaze. "I forgot you're just a child."
He slowly stood up and patted his shoulders, "Good job Buddy."
A light smile bloomed on Leon's face after hearing those words. He nodded his head and returned to the entrance.
sigh
"What a tough world to live in." Shaking his head, he roamed around and started picking up all those traps that he'd set up before. None of them had activated, which suggested that the entity that almost killed him, was either extremely powerful or stealthy.
He felt that the latter was the correct option, considering it could have killed him instantly if it were truly that strong.
He thanked his luck for surviving against this ordeal, and swiftly picked up the buried artifacts one at a time.
"I miss music at times like these. How refreshing would it be to hear some peaceful song while doing my work?" He wasn't a big fan of any particular artist, he just loved listening to music, any kind of music, whether it's jazz, pop, rock, or R&B.
Music was the perfect thing to elevate the pressure and mental strain after a rough day.
"Should I just create a music company for myself here?" He thought, finding the idea quite feasible. He had literally anything you would want to start,
Money? No problem.
Connections? He was a fricking crown prince, what more is needed?
Talented individuals? Yeah, that's gonna be the only problem.
"After returning, I should inform Uncle Armes about this." Noting it down on his mind, he continued picking them up.
"Hmm? What's that?"
A tiny marble, the size of a pea, glittered quietly in the darkness, capturing his attention. It was perfectly round in shape, with a gray-colored snake pattern circling around its body.
His eyes, shining with curiosity, landed on the marble's smooth surface. Bending down slightly, he picked it up and lifted it above, placing it somewhere with sufficient light on it.
"A snake?" He muttered, staring at the marble.
The marble shimmered lightly under the sunlight and reflected itself inside his eyes.
A sudden vision flashed in his mind, the moment he gazed at its reflective surface.
An enormous snake, covered in silver-gray scales, glared at Cassian's tiny body with its piercing reptilian eyes.
The snake slowly opened its maws and swallowed his body entirely without any visible movements.
Flash!
He was startled by the vision and accidentally dropped the marble on the floor, causing a hollow sound to reverberate through the empty room.
sigh
"What's happening with my life? Did I get tangled with some crazy mess?" He mutered, tired with all these bullshit happening in his life.
His journey had just begun and already, he was facing a lot of troubles, He couldn't even imagine his future like this.
sigh
Sighing to himself, he bent down to pick up the marble only to notice something unbelievable happening.
The marble shone momentarily with a bright light and underwent a crazy transformation before his eyes.
Its body elongated into a thin wire and reached around a meter in length, the bottom part condensed itself and formed a shape, the shape of a hilt. The wire and the hilt were linked with eachother, forming an outline of a sword.
He sensed an unusual sense of closeness, flowing through the sword. It felt as if..as if it was calling to him, asking him to hold it into his arms and wield it. His hands instinctively reached out and slowly picked up the sword.
"I will probably regret my next decision." He thought with a bitter smile, holding the hilt and slowly lifting it up. The sword was beyond anything he had seen before, with its mesmerizing glass body that reflected himself under its blade.
He stared at it for a while, lost in his thought.
'Such a beautiful thing.'
He slowly tightened his grip, feeling the hilt's soft texture brushing his skin. The sword fitted perfectly inside his hand, as if it was made for him. He synced his movements with the sword and lightly swung it down.
'Wow.'
The sunlight reflected on the sword's blade, giving it a golden glow. It looked divine figuratively and literally.
Sadly, the moment of appreciation ended after he performed a sword slash.
swirl
A sudden suction force enveloped the sword's body and stuck itself with his hands. It's golden glow also changed from something divine to something devilish. A tinge of reddish bloody aura surrounded its body, covering Cassian's right arm completely with it. The sword rapidly sucked in his mana and even his blood, causing the aura around him to become denser and malevolent. The sword left a bizzare mark on his almost dried up arm, etching itself deep into his bones.
"Knew it." He didn't panic and swiftly took out some mana-recovery potions from inside his ring.
gulp
gulp
The liquid gurgled as it slid down his throat, its sound resonating within the silence. The potions managed to ease up his Starseed slightly from the continuous devouring of the mana. It provided a momentary relief, but he still had to think of something regarding the blood.
He tried removing the sword from his hand forcefully, with no meaningful results. It wouldn't even budge, despite using every ounce of strength. He nearly ripped up his skin, during the aftermath.
Although he didn't show it outside, he was feeling a lot of pain, getting his blood sucked out.
"The old ones were right. Never pick up some random crap from the streets." He chuckled, musing at his own humor.
Blood was continuously being devoured from his body, leaving him in a weakened state. His sight was getting blurry and he was struggling to properly stand up. He had tried calling Leon but this thing seemed to have somehow blocked the mental connection between them.
'Do I have no choice?'
