The system was speaking crazy things. Did it think that she would just give herself up like that?

She had to make some preparations and deep down, she sort of wanted Caishen to make the first move.

She didn't roll her body but stayed right next to him. She could hear him laughing under his breath at her cowardice.

"Keep laughing and I will pinch your waist." She threatened.

He scoffed and turned his head in her direction. He looked at her with a hopeless smile on his face.

Ever since she walked into his life, laughter had become his constant company.

She had this effortless way of bringing a smile to his face.

Then out of the blue, of his own accord, his hand moved around and held hers.

Very surprised, Alix looked down at their joined hands and looked at him. Her eyes were round with shock and it was so clear on her face how surprised she was.

"Oh my gosh!, he really is touching me of his own volition." She thought.

It was rare, with the exceptions of the times when they needed to project unity for some reason.

Normally she was the one initiating any kind of skinship. What was up with him tonight?

"Don't overthink it. I can see your thoughts going wild." He laughed lightly.

She was so readable, everything she was thinking was right there in her expressive eyes.

"I am going to sleep now." She said.

"Mm, but I am not ready to sleep." He answered.

He had to patiently wait for his body which she excited unnecessarily to calm down. How could he suffer alone. The biggest contributor to his problem should stay awake and keep him company.

Alix closed her eyes and looked away from him. She did not attempt to take her hand back however.

"Do you know that baby owls sleep on their stomachs because their heads are heavy?"

His voice was so close to her ear when he asked this.

Her face twisted up in confusion and she turned her head to look at him. What did baby owls have to do with them?

"Okay." She answered in a bored voice.

He chuckled at the lack of interest on her face and went on.

"Fun fact, otters hold hands while sleeping so they don't float away from each other."

That one made Alix chuckle.

"Is that why you are holding my hand? You don't want to float away from me?"

He raised his eyebrows and looked at her with consideration on his face. "Are you an otter?"

He tilted his head slightly and nodded. "I sort of see the resemblance."

She glared at him and turned her head away.

"Goodnight."

Caishen smirked and moved his upper body closer to hers. He was so close that he could feel the heat coming from her body.

A part of him wondered if he was trying to make his problem go away or give it a boost.

"Okay, this is even more amazing than other facts about animals. Dolphins use toxic pufferfish to get high."

He giggled to himself.

"Call the police and report them." She mumbled.

She was truly tired after a long day and tomorrow would even be longer. She was going to participate in let's get physical.

It was silent for a while and she assumed that he had gone to sleep. Her eyes started to close and her breath deepened.

"Koalas can sleep for up to twenty two hours a day. It's because of their diet but can you imagine sleeping for such a long time."

Alix opened her eyes, grabbed the bluey plushie and used one of it's legs to cover her ears.

Please, please let me sleep." She groaned into her pillow.

"Is he the animal facts encyclopedia?" Her system asked.

How and why did he just know these things off the top of his head?

"Okay the last one. Look at me and I promise this will be the last one."

She turned her head reluctantly in his direction.

There was a smile on his face and in his eyes a spark. He was really enjoying messing with her.

"Do you know that cows can poo up to fifteen times a day?"

She couldn't help herself, she guffawed and shook her head in disbelief. Was he so determined to let her know about it? And of all the random facts did he have to talk about poop?

Her guffaws turned into soft laughter and she closed her eyes momentarily.

Suddenly, she felt his presence and his scent so close to her even more than before.

She opened her eyes and found a part of his upper body raised and sort of hovering over her.

"Goodnight kiss." He said.

He lowered his head and placed a quick light kiss on her lips before she could react.

"Now we can sleep." He said and he laid back down.

He closed his eyes and squeezed her hand.

Alix's eyes on the other hand were wide opened and two of her left hand fingers moved to her lips.

It was not her first kiss but it was the first she found charming. She looked at him and scoffed.

In the morning, they had breakfast together with their cats and she left home before he did.

Caishen's toes had recently gained some movement and his personal doctor and a physiotherapist moved into the Blossom courts to help him with his recovery.

Every morning and evening, he went through a series of treatments and exercises to help speed up his recovery and prevent any other accidents or illnesses in the process.

She was on her way to the shooting location of let's get physical when she received a phone call.

It was madam Qian calling and Alix could guess why.

The moment she picked up the woman on the other end started screaming and crying hysterically.

Alix pulled the phone away from her ear and waited for the woman to calm down.

As soon as the screams died down, she brought the phone back.

"Yes, yes, I just got the test results back. I am really pregnant."

The screaming started again, as loud as it had been the first time round.

Alix smiled as she pondered on how to answer that question. The rabbit's foot had lines on the toes and two lines had disappeared because madam Qian wanted twins.

"I told you that I would make it happen for you so how could I not know. But you should know that getting pregnant and ensuring a safe pregnancy until birth are also two different things.

I have some good medicines for this purpose but as always they will cost you."

"I will pay anything." Madam Qian blurted.
