Zhang Bo raised his eyes as he came to a sudden realization. "I will have to move out as well, my son will not be living under the same roof as a murderer. I have acted enough of these dramas to know how the story goes. The illegal heir will scheme and try to take everything, killing all those in his way."

Caishen was no fool and most of the things his brother was asking, he had asked himself as well. But what he didn't understand was Zhang Bo's lack of interest or joy at the possibility of the return of their father alive.

He couldn't help wondering if he was being naïve for thinking that despite all the complications, the possibility of their father being alive was good?

Caishen was certain that he loved his father. That was an irrevocable fact, and he had always assumed that Zhang Bo shared that same feeling. His actions now left Caishen with many doubts.

Is there something which he had missed out on in their childhood? He did not intend to take home the doubts and stew in them overnight. They had to be addressed here and now.

He faced Zhang Bo, opened his mouth and said, "Brother..."

"Ooh, my nephews, you guys are hiding here."

A voice that was loud and travelling in their direction made Caishen close his mouth. Zhang Bo stood up and dusted the dirt off his buttocks. Most of it however was going nowhere so he untucked his shirt to cover it up. He was a star, a popular one at that. What if someone took a picture and claimed that he had pooped his pants?

"You guys disappeared before the blessing ceremony could end."

The voice was that of a middle aged woman, Huan Jiao the daughter of their grandaunt Zhang Lei.

Both brothers frowned because Huan Jiao's personality was quite displeasing. She was sticky like honey, invading personal space forcefully even when she was unwanted. Every year, their grandaunt did not fail to drag her two children to the worship ceremony so that they could get some benefits as well.

The worship ceremony was always followed by a large family lunch with all three families together and their grandaunt always followed.

She would not fail to mention that she was a Zhang as well and had a right to the family fortune. Sometimes she would drink and lament at her bad luck for not having been born a boy. In the Zhang family, female children were not allowed to receive or inherit shares.

It was an outdated tradition and yet they stuck to it as they did the three branch governing rules.

"Nephew Caishen, you know, Hai and the others used to meet up and gossip about you last year? Some people in the third branch apparently wanted to extend a helping hand when you were injured and forced to take time off work. I think the third branch needs a reminder about the power structure of our family."

Caishen smiled stiffly at her. The information she was volunteering was not news to him. Also, more importantly, she was not from the Zhang family.

Going on ignorantly, Huan Jiao turned to Zhang Bo. "And nephew Bo, my mother said that I should remind you to get married and have children soon. She said the roots of the first branch are withering and that if you are not careful, you will be gobbled up by the sly second branch.

You don't know this but my mother is very worried about you. The main branch must stand firm for us all to be safe and successful.

How about I introduce you to some beautiful girls from good families? I would offer to introduce Caishen as well but your mother went and decided on her own to push your marriage through.

I really don't know what she was thinking. That woman is neither well educated nor from a great family. I had a great girl picked out for you but she wasted all my efforts."

She sighed loudly as if she couldn't bear the thought of the plight which had befallen Caishen because of who he married.

Zhang Bo dug his nails into his hands to stop himself from saying rude to her. If he did, she would run away wailing and his grandmother would be unhappy. She didn't want unnecessary drama on this day.

Caishen did not do what Zhang Bo did. He didn't care what his grandmother would think. "My wife is none of your concern. That great wife choice you had picked out, give her to your son Lixin."

Huan Jiao was surprised by Caishen's response that she startled to splutter.

"We should get back to everyone." Zhang Bo said, we don't need others to come looking for us.

The two brothers did not wait for her to respond and they started leaving. Caishen's wheelchair almost run over her feet when he passed her.

Huan Jiao jumped back and looked at the two backs of the brothers in disbelief. On her face was an ugly smile of revulsion.

"Tsk, tsk, all I am trying to do is help them but they don't appreciate it. No wonder he is crippled. Of what use is donating all that money to the temple when all those prayers didn't save their grandson from such a fate? They should just give it to us." She mumbled.

After mumbling, she smiled and shouted, "You guys, wait for me. We have not seen each other in a long time so we should talk more. How is that sweet Xiaobo?"

Neither Caishen, nor Zhang Bo slowed down for her but she run after them shamelessly, loudly calling their names and making a spectacle of herself in the quiet temple.

Even though the worship ceremony was over, many members of the Zhang family still sent her unappreciative looks.

Year after year, she did something that made her stand out, and it was never in a good way. Why did grandaunt drag her children here when they bore the name Huan and not Zhang?

Alix was standing by the car with Xiaobo. They were giggling silly as they steathly looked at other relatives.

One of the cousins passed by and smiled her. Alix smiled back as that one left.

Caishen suddenly came in a hurry and told her to get in the car.

She did as he said, bringing Xiaobo into the car with her.

"What happened" she asked him.

He didn't look happy in the slightest. On his face was a very big frown which she didn't like seeing.
