Alix stared at him for a few seconds and then she smirked. He had rightly earned his arrogance thanks to his talent. The only famous talented person without arrogance she had met so far was elder Ren.

So Mi was still brand new, like a baby that had been born yesterday. In due time, she would learn.

"Jin Kang," Alix bellowed. "Bring two cellos, yours and mine."

Her voice packed quite the force to be heard all the way where Jin Kang was. It was so loud that everyone outside in that place heard her.

Rain winced and covered his ears.

"Holy cow you are so loud."

"It's a gift." She answered with a shrug. "Meanwhile, tell me why you are in search of a cello player. Your songs are usually have that instrumental acoustic vibe. You must know many talented people that play different instruments already."

"I do." He told her. "But my cello guy retired two months ago."

Alix scratched her hair for five seconds pondering on the words 'cello guy.' Who in the world had a cello guy? Was that someone you called when you needed a cello?

"The guy who plays the cello for me. I only use people I trust and I always vet their expertise myself. You have to match my style and my vibe so I always stick to single individuals." He told her.

Again, Alix caught the arrogance in his voice. It was so funny because she had never heard anything about Rain being arrogant online. Perhaps he knew how to tone it down in the right circumstances, like around his fans. It was not her business anyway.

"I am expensive." She told him. "Just a heads up. I also work with people that match my vibe. I am also opinionated so I will give you unsolicited advise about your song, pitch or song arrangements. You are not the only one with demands."

Rain shrugged and replied, "Sister Chan told me that you are expensive. I don't mind as long your work is quality. Why did you send for two cellos?"

Jin Kang came over and that killed the response to his question which was on the tip of her tongue.

She was not alone, Qing An Rao was carrying another cello. Behind her was Mu Dafu.

"Here." Jin Kang placed the cello cases on the third chair, one after the other. Her eyes were glued on to Rain.

Alix pinched her friend's thigh and shook her head. No asking for autographs, she warned.

"What are you two doing out here?" She tilted her head forward and asked Qing Rao. "You have only passed one stage of the winter harmony classic, you have two more to go."

Qing Rao smiled a flower and she giggled a bit. "Teacher, you saw."

"Of course I saw. It was shown on tv during the national holiday. You two were okay, I will not say great because you have strong competition. You should practice more if you are to make it to the finals." She advised both students.

She didn't want them to become too proud when they had barely crossed the threshold for passable cello players.

"Teacher, we have a lot to learn. That's why we have come to watch you. Teacher Jin said that you are going to play the cello." Mu Dafu explained.

Alix nodded. She grabbed the first cello case and pushed the second to Jin Kang.

"How rusty are your skills?"

"Better than them." Jin Kang pointed to the two students.

"In another life, I lead you follow." Alix told her.

"Cool, cool." Jin Kang nodded.

From a distance, Holea was keeping a close eye on her friends and when she saw them both with cellos in their hands, she smiled. This was a scene which brought back many memories.

Alix trying to play the cello with one hand and always failing, which would lead to her crying. Jin Kang playing the cello and Alix catching all of her mistakes just by listening and correcting her. It was always clear who was the most gifted musically among the three of them.

She noticed Caishen too, in his wheelchair under one of the empty parasols. He was with his bodyguard that was standing erect behind him.

She had a few things to say to him without Alix hovering or listening and now was the perfect

time so she approached him slowly.

Alix didn't notice Holea because she had started playing.

It was always a must for her smile when she started playing. The smile was formed so naturally even before she started. It came from the joy of finally being able to do something which she loved so much.

Always, as well, within thirty seconds, her eyes would naturally close. She didn't even need to watch her hands or a music sheet.

As always, her playing affected everything and everyone around her.

Elder Ren abandoned his class and sat down to listen. Chan Ki and So Mi walked closer to listen from close.

The Tai's abandoned their gardening and smiled, especially Mo Qilu. In her mind, she pictured a younger Alix playing with such a look on her face.

The woman sighed, wishing that she had met Alix much sooner. How amazing would it have been to be the mother of such a talented daughter?

Grandpa Tai was walking over with the vice principal and he stopped moving. He didn't want to move, lest he interrupt this beautiful moment.

Rain closed his eyes as well, listening with his ears in search of something special.

It was not a very long song and they finished playing rather quickly. It was a two minute song, not long like most

classical compositions.

"So, what do you think?" Alix put down the cello.

Rain extended his hand. "Welcome to team Rain." He said with a genuine smile.

This time round, the arrogance was gone from his voice. He looked and sounded impressed.

"Sister, you didn't switch it up?" Chan Ki squeezed herself closer to Alix and she asked.

"I could but I was auditioning for a job." She replied and laughed.

"Let's record your video for the national players violin competition now. You are still in the mood and it feels right." Jin Kang suggested.

Everything had been prepared and the violin was sitting right there.

"Okay." Alix nodded.

She put the cello aside and Jin Kang started clearing everyone away. Alix turned her back to the pond and Jin Kang set up the camera.

Mo Qilu, in a desire to be helpful came over and combed Alix's hair for her.

Grandma Tai handed her some water to drink before she should start playing.

The vice principal went back to stop anyone from ringing the school bell. If class ended while Alix was still playing, the students could just be let out slowly.

This was why she was supposed to record after lunch. The school would be quiet with the students gone.

"It's just a five minute recording, you should all stop fussing." Alix told them.

She could hear her aunts discussing whether her shirt needed to be changed. Even as she said this, Alix was smiling happily. It sure felt nice to be cared for like this.

"Ready?" Jin Kang asked.

Alix nodded.

From close with his painting tools and an empty canvas, elder Ren nodded as well. It was time for inspiration.
