The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 221: A bitter-sweet connection
For a whole week she had eaten cheap noodles until Holea and Jin Kang pretended that they were holding a party for Mu Mu at her place.
They bought food stuffs and left them at Alix's house deliberately.
What Alix did for her ex, she could also do for her friends. She once paid Jin Kang's hospital bill instead of her rent and almost got evicted. That was how soft her heart was.
So, Holea's every instinct was screaming at her to warn Caishen.
Marriage was very different from an ordinary relationship. If Alix became attached to this man then she could even donate all the blood in her body to him. That's why Holea wanted to warn him before he could do irreparable damage to her.
"Don't take her for granted and most importantly, if you want out of the marriage tell her openly and sincerely before doing something that will cause her pain.
Alix has had enough pain in her life and things are now becoming better for her. Don't add your own shit to it and drag her back down into the darkness."
He raised his eyebrows at her reference to his potential issues as shit. She was extremely forward, nonchalantly so. Alix really had a good friend or a nosy one. This could easily go either way. He had to respond anyway so he chose to reassure her.
"I am a man of means miss Holea. I will not rely on her financially if that is what worries you." He said.
He had every intention of adding to his words but Holea jumped in.
"That's what worries me even more. With any other bastard we could guess that she was being exploited and attempt to pull her out of the relationship. We always succeeded but it's different with you. You are rich, handsome, charismatic and possess many other qualities which I do not need to mention.
If you are a bastard, we will not be able to pull her out if she falls for you. What happens if you use your money and influence to stop her from chasing her dreams?"
"I would never do such a thing. She has every right to live her life the way she wants. " he said.
"Excellent, I hope you keep your word." Holea said. "Wherever her talents take her, please allow her to soar. Don't tie her feet down in the name of marriage. I watched her desperately look for cures for her fingers so that she could play any instrument again. I held her as she cried everytime some wacko sold her medicine which didn't work and I saw the spark in her eyes when she finally somehow found an actual cure. It was like she had been reborn. She has only just started to bloom so...." she looked down and said with a pained look on her face. "Don't stop her and don't let your family stop her."
"Nobody intends to do such a thing. Alix is my wife and I will support her on her journey, no matter where it takes her." He assured Holea.
He was looking at Alix as he replied. The wide smile on her face had not died down since she picked up a flute. She was laughing as she taught the students. In his mind, he compared her to a sunflower facing the sky, smiling with openness and blessing the sky with it's bright yellow beauty.

How could he ever be the one to take that smile away?
"Even if it's another country or city?" Holea asked him.
He turned his face to her and he nodded. "I am not a child that is still suckling at it's mother's breasts. I lived well before I met her and I can survive a few days or weeks without seeing her.
If need be, I can always get on a plane and go where she is. We can chat on phone every single day. Times have changed miss Holea, we can keep in touch with our loved ones in many ways."
Holea scoffed silently and then her lips curved just a little bit. This was the first time Caishen was seeing anything other than neutral stoicism on her face. Did it mean he had won over one of her friends, he wondered.
"You have called her a loved one." She said softly.
"She is my wife." He answered.
"Does this mean you care about her?" Holea asked.
"Again, she is my wife. Of course I care about her. " He said with obviousness to his tone.
"In that case, don't let her play the piano in excess." She said.
He was in the process of turning his head back to Alix when Holea said this and he turned it back to her so quickly that he almost twisted it.
He sprained it a bit, which made him wince and he used his hand to rub his nape. As he did, he kept his skeptical eyes on Holea.
Piano was Alix's favorite music instrument to play. She wanted to be the number one piano genius in the country. Why them was her friend speaking the opposite or so it seemed.
"Look at her right now. Does she look happy?" Holea asked him.
"Of course. " he replied.
The way he answered, he might as well have added 'duh!' to his response.
"She had that same look when she was playing the cello and the violin." Holea stated.
He nodded because he was familiar with that look. She looked like that when she played the violin for him when they were home alone. But he was more interested in hearing about the piano right now.
"Isn't it the same when she is playing the piano?"
Holea shook her head. "I have known Alix for more than fifteen years and what I know with absolute confidence is that she hates the piano.
Maybe hate is a strong word but honestly it's an instrument of torture for her and yet she is obsessed with it.
She acts like it's the one link left between her and her mother because her mother was her first piano teacher.
She has videos of her mom teaching her piano as a child so she latched onto the only clear memory she has of her."
Holea didn't want to say this to Caishen but she needed to. If he cared like he claimed, then he would be the anchor perhaps that kept Alix afloat.
"When she is alone and she plays the piano it's always sad songs that make you cry and she always cries.
You won't see her crying but if she goes into the bathroom then I assure you that she is in there crying.
If her father had loved her or her grandmother, step mother and sister treated her nicely, she would not be piano obsessed. Like that stupid piano competition which she wants to win only because her mother won once. I worry about what will follow if she doesn't win."
She looked at him, sighed and said gravely. "I need your word that you will watch out for her and be there if she does fall apart in any way. If you cannot do it, send her to me. Jin Kang and I, we will comfort her."
