Chapter 32: Demon Hunt (1)

Craig left the grand hall room alongside his wives.

He wasted no a single moment, before there will any further clash during his visit to the Raine Kingdom.

He chose to exit the west and return back to his nation.

They could be seen walking down the hallway.

Craig walked with confidence, his stride long and purposefully, flanked by his two wives who moved with a synchronized elegance.

Just then approaching footsteps echoed from the other side.

With shadows of two figures making their way towards them.

Emerging into the scene were the two elites Darklings summoned to the conference hall.

They were both draped in black, clad in their knight armors as the insignia of the Cregan Knight Corp was evident.

They both stood like sentinels, their black suits and sunglasses giving them an air of mystery and authority.

Their presence seeming to fill the hallway.

Craig had his eyes squinted, his body was tensed and his posture rigid, as if coiled springs ready to unleash his true power at a moment’s notice.

His wives noticed the change in the air and the sudden tension. Their eyes fixed intently on the approaching duo.

The two enforcers walked through the hallway.

Gerald Ottoman who had his attention fixed on the words spoken to him by Cathyln was suddenly drawn to Craig.

His eyebrows furrowed that instant.

He felt something unnatural.

"Something’s off" Gerald whispered.

The hallway seemed to shrink, the air thickening with tension, as the two groups converged, their paths crossing like intersecting forces of nature.

The atmosphere was charged with anticipation, the enforcers’ power and Craig’s confidence creating a dynamic that seemed to crackle with electricity.

When it comes to players. It’s very easy to detect the power level of a player unless he or she completely seals it off.

The level of Starlight Energy which they unintentionally exact gives their levels off.

But when it comes to their genesis. Only when they truly manifest their genesis is when one gets to figure it out.

Genesis are tied to the soul of a player.

"This guys are masters. I don’t know why they’re here but it’s preferable for me not to get involved with me"

Craig muttered.

The uprising tension soared through the roof.

As he walked passed the enforcers. Gerald tilted his gaze backwards. His eyes locking onto Craig with an unnerving intensity.

As if sensing something beneath the surface.

Cathyln’s brows curled up.

"What’s wrong? Gerald?" She asked.

But Gerald was too distracted to answer. His eyes flickered.

His gaze was like a cold wind, cutting through the facade of normalcy and piercing the veil of reality to reveal the darkness lurking within.

He was left stunned.

A flicker of recognition danced across Gerald’s face, a spark of awareness that seemed to ignite a fire of suspicion.

As if he had caught a whiff of something malevolent.

The air around Craig seemed to ripple with purple hue, as if the very fabric of reality was being distorted by the presence of demonic essence.

And Gerald’s eyes narrowed, his senses on high alert.

"Gerald? What’s wrong with you?"

Cathyln called out, tapping Gerald violently, she brought him back to reality.

Gerald tilted his gaze, he glanced at Cathyln for a few seconds, but before he could drift his attention back to Craig.

Craig was nowhere to be found.

Gerald frowned.

"Where is he?" He questioned.

"Huh? Where’s who? Are you talking about that guy and his wives? They already left while you were in deep thoughts" Cathyln answered.

"What’s wrong?" Cathyln asked.

Gerald exhaled a deep sigh. His frowns still remained evident.

"I don’t know what’s going on Cathyln but there’s something I do know...."

"We need to figure out who that man and those women are" Gerald stated.

"Huh? But why?" Cathyln asked.

Gerald took a deep breath.

A lopsided grin escaped his lips.

"I’ve always been hearing about tales of demons, I’ve only seen demonic essences but I’ve never seen a demon in reality"

Gerald uttered. He paused for a few seconds and he continued...

"Cathyln. It seems we’ve found our demons"

He chuckled.

"I’ll leave for the Summit, you need to return back and mobilize the troops. Since he’s coming from the conference hall"

"We need to figure what his true identity is while you will be focused on tracking down his whereabouts"

"We won’t let a few demons escape our sight, would we?" Gerald questioned.

Cathryn exhaled a soft sigh of defeat.

"It’s just as you said. The demons were just coming from the Summit, what if he killed everyone in there and he’s about leaving?" She asked.

Gerald stayed silent for a few seconds.

"That’s impossible. Even if everyone in that Summit is weak, the Raine Kingdom has the sword saint Arthur BloodRaven"

"He’s a master whose strength surpasses even mine"

"He’s a demon slayer and no demon would ever escape his blade. If those demons are still breathing"

"It means nothing happened in there"

Gerald elucidated.

"Do as I command and get to work. I’ll be busy in this summit, monitor that demon’s whereabouts until I give the signal"

Gerald commanded.

He went straight for the conference hall while Cathryn did as she was commanded, she went back to mobilize the troops.

[Meanwhile]

They hurriedly exited the royal palace, the castle gates were opened for them as they rode their carriage out.

They needed the carriage to flee becauses the horses used were demonic creatures.

Only given the command, they would transform into demonic feline beasts.

—-

Craig laid-back on the back of the carriage, his wives sat besides him as he pondered over the recent events.

Ramposa watched in silence..

Cassie who was anxious about the entire situation decided to ask the question.

"What’s wrong baby?" She asked.

Craig was drawn to her question, he rolled his eyes sideways. Gently staring at Cassie who sat by his left.

But no words were uttered, no answer was given.

Ramposa decided to answer.

She sat down with her legs folded.

"Incase you didn’t notice Cassie but our cover has been blown" Ramposa informed.

"Huh? Our cover has been blown? What are you talking about?"

Cassie curiously asked.

"One of those two figures who walked besides us as we exited the royal palace. One of them walks the path of the Personification genesis"

Ramposa explained as she continued....

"Those men are officially worshippers of ancient deities and they’re known for receiving blessings from this deities"

"Such transaction of beliefs and fate is known as Grace"

"To we demonic creatures. Encountering a player who walks the path of Personification genesis is our worst nightmare"

"No matter how much a demon tries to hide. We cannot evade the divine eyes of that player"

"Especially if they’re on the master level"

"They know who we’re" Ramposa revealed.

She exhaled a soft sigh, her arms remained folded.

"Oh? That’s bad right?" Cassie asked.

"But even if they’re coming, we could just kill them right?" Cassie asked.

Craig heaved softly.

"That would be the best scenario but I can’t afford directly staining my hands with bloods until we leave the Raine Kingdom"

"We need to lay low and avert their gaze. Once we’re out of the Raine Kingdom"

"If they come for us. We’ll kill them"

Craig stated.

"Hmmm, but why are you so lenient with this humans?" Ramposa asked. She shrugged her shoulders.

Craig’s eyebrows curled up.

"Huh? What’re are you talking about?" Craig curiously asked.

"Ever since we entered the Raine Kingdom. You’ve always been lenient on them, not wanting to directly get involved"

"I know we could do the job for you but what is it that you’re trying to avoid?" Ramposa asked.

Craig’s lips curled up into a knowing grin.

He giggled silently.

"Smart girl. She saw through me but no matter what, I cannot expose the Pandora system to anyone"

"Not even my wives. It’s a secret I must take to my grave"

Craig whispered to himself.

He tapped Ramposa on her head, gently rubbing her hair with his right hand. He chuckled softly.

"There’s no need for you to be worried about anything. I’m not lenient on this humans, I just don’t care enough to kill them"

"They’re not worthy to be killed by me"

Craig lied.

Ofcourse he’s not going to tell them that Fate ordered him not to directly get himself involved or faces the risk of getting his entirely erased.

All he needs to do in other to stay alive is to abide by the rules.

Craig rolled his eyes. He stared at the carriage window by his right.

"They’ll be following us non stop. For now, don’t try to get noticed"

"Until we exit the Raine Kingdom, there will be no killings"

Craig instructed.

Up above the moving carriage of the demon lord Zephyr. A summoned spirit beast flew above them.

A mid tier eagle spirit beast.

It’s eyes were focused on the moving carriage and it’s tamer was watching everything from where she rode her horse.

Cathryn had her knights mobilized as commanded.

And they’re seen riding their horses through the cities while following the tracks left for them by the spirit beast.

Enforcer Cathryn led the way.

All geared up in her demon hunting suit.
