Three Treasures: Spoiled Wife Goes Wild-Chapter 1810: Sadly, There Is No If
Thinking about what Annie had said to her, Charlotte Thompson realized she was powerless too.
She could only advise Annie Anne to get some rest and take care of her health.
...
Downing the drink in her glass in one gulp, the spicy liquid burned as it went down her throat.
Annie Anne couldn’t help but cover her mouth and cough a few times, drawing a glance from the bartender nearby.
Annie Anne coughed violently, the burning pain in her throat making her eyes faintly red.
Just as the bartender was about to say something to her, Annie Anne raised her head and pushed the empty glass towards him.
"One more glass."
"This drink is very strong. Drinking like this, you’ll surely get drunk."
The bartender glanced over Annie Anne’s cheeks, the dazzling lights of the bar making his expression ever-changing.
But Annie Anne found the bartender’s advice a bit annoying, she stared intently at the droplets sliding down the glass, wiping them away with her finger.
"I said, one more glass."
Since it was the customer’s request, the bartender didn’t say more, refilling Annie Anne’s glass, though his gaze drifted towards a certain direction.
"Nobody cares, nobody..."
Annie Anne took a deep breath, the wine stingingly overwhelming her taste buds, even bringing tears to her eyes.
She lowered her head, staring at the contacts on her phone, her fingertips hovering over a name.
Oliver Hudson.
"Oliver Hudson, how could you leave so easily. Don’t ever come back; I never want to see you again in this lifetime... never want to see you again..."
Annie Anne gritted her back teeth, trying to appear indifferent, yet the accumulating bitterness in her chest was almost swallowing her whole.
"What did I do wrong to have met you..."
Annie Anne pressed her palm against her eyes, gradually feeling a spreading dampness.
It’s only when you lose something that you realize its value.
Initially, Annie Anne had escaped Oliver Hudson’s control, and this time Oliver Hudson chose to turn away from Annie Anne.
Perhaps from the beginning, both had made the same mistake.
If they had never met, would their lives have been different?
Sadly, there are no ifs.
The aftereffects of the alcohol slowly surged up, and Annie Anne felt her body begin to float. She stood up shakily from her chair, the music from the dance floor catching her attention.
Annie Anne tried to step forward but was blocked by someone with ill intentions.
"Pretty lady, drinking here alone, isn’t that boring?"
The man looked at the already tipsy Annie Anne, his smile widening.
"Don’t touch me, didn’t you already leave? Why did you have to come back..."
Annie Anne’s mind was somewhat blurry, muttering the words that surfaced in her heart instinctively.
The man chuckled and even reached out to pull Annie Anne into his arms.
"I didn’t leave, I stayed to accompany you. Come on, brother here will take you to a nice place."
With that, the man was about to whisk away the drunken Annie Anne, but a hand quickly stopped him, twisting his wrist away.
"Get lost."
Campbell Prickly glanced at the man in front of him, the coldness in his eyes frightening the man’s legs into trembling.
