Timeless Hunter: Blood Of Old-Chapter 47: Echo Evolves
He shot his arrows one after another but they merely went through the savage blood warrior without causing any damage.
Akaris realised what he was doing was pointless, his arrows were not effective against this thing.
Only the exploding arrow would have any effect but it took too long to form, it was inconvenient when he was fighting alone.
He hung his bow and pulled out light bringer, if arrows don’t work then he’ll chop this thing up into a thousand pieces.
The savage blood warrior lunged, its massive body caused massive gales which blew his hair into the air.
It reached him in a split second, he used future sight and supreme reflex but its many hands were hard to dodge.
His body was under massive strain just to keep up let alone counterattack, realising this was going nowhere he uses mana wave.
A wave of mana spread out and hit the savage blood warrior like a sledgehammer sending it sailing through the air.
It crashed in the ground a rolled but by the time it stood up It found a massive creature with tentacles facing it.
Akaris figured that was the right moment to use his echo and he was right. The savage blood warrior had no time to react.
Before it could get up, a dozen tentacles bound its body and the blood feaster echo ripped off its arm and devoured it.
Unfortunately there were too many blood spawn around and the savage blood warrior healed itself.
But his echo was relentless, no matter how much the savage blood warrior resisted it couldn’t get free of the tentacles.
Akaris used his hawk eyes, specifically its new ability to pinpoint what he assumed to be pressure points or weaknesses.
He saw it, a tiny glowing red mark inside the savage blood warrior, the mark was small, only around the size of a tiny marble. He pulled out his bow and drew it.
An arrow formed in less than a second and he released it. It pierced through the air faster than sound.
The arrow pierced through the savage blood warrior and went through the other side but Akaris frowned.
That red mark had shifted positions just as the arrow was about to hit it. It appeared on its foot.
Instead of aiming for it he used future sight and saw that if he attacked it would just move it again.
But he was able to predict where it will move it to and instead of using a mana arrow he pulled out two wood arrows.
He fired the first one, although not as fast as a mana arrow it was still enhanced by mana and incredibly fast.
Unsurprisingly the savage blood warrior moved the red mark to its chest but Akaris had already fired the second arrow.
By the time the red mark reached the chest the second arrow was already upon it. Akaris grinned as the arrow pierced through the chest.
Then his smile disappeared, the savage blood warrior had managed to shift the red mark again.
But this time it had to block the arrow first and so it condensed a lot of blood Infront of the mark thus slowing down his arrow enough to dodge.
This made Akaris frown, this thing had more instinct than the mindless blood spawn. Fortunately it couldn’t go anywhere.
With the blood feaster echo holding it down, it couldn’t even attack him, unfortunately the blood feaster echo was too costly to keep.
It was stronger than his two previous echoes and needed more mana to keep. Akaris pulled his bow string.
A few seconds passed, the blood feaster kept tearing the savage blood warrior apart and devouring it only for the savage blood warrior to regenerate.
After a few seconds an arrow with larger and darker head formed. (Mana Arrow has reached level 13, Mana arrow has reached level 14)
His mana arrow levelled up two times which was a pleasant surprise, he issued a command to the blood feaster.
The blood feaster stabbed one of its tentacles towards the red mark forcing the savage blood warrior to move it.
Akaris had already used future sight and released his arrow before the red mark could even move.
His arrow directly hit the spot where the mark was and exploded. A wave of blue flame like mana spread out but there was no heat, just visuals.
It hit both the savage blood warrior and the blood feaster echo sending body of them retreating in different directions.
Akaris could see through the explosion of mana and saw the shockwaves hit the red mark causing it to crack.
Yet that did not make him happy because the red mark did not break meaning the savage blood warrior was still alive.
With blood spawn around it, it was possible it was just going to heal the wound and be back to full strength.
As expected, it started absorbing the blood spawn but its regenerative rate was much slower than before.
He didn’t wait for it to heal and shot a mana arrow for the red mark, before the savage blood warrior could react the arrow pierced through it.
The red mark shattered, the sound of breaking glass echoed through red night sky and pieces of the red orb fell on the ground.
Akaris sighed with relief, the only things left were the normal blood spawn which couldn’t pose any threat to him.
( Echoes of old has reached level 2) He suddenly felt the mana needed to keep the echo active lessen.
He was about to summon it back when he noticed something, the echo had grown stronger.
It had almost reached the level of power it had before its death. He wondered why that was then an idea struck him.
’ Blood.’ this echo was of a blood feaster, it would make sense for it to grow stronger through consuming blood.
He didn’t summon the echo back and had it consume as many blood spawn around it as possible.
Then he made it eat the fragments of blood orb of the savage blood warrior. Its body suddenly glowed with red light.
It grew larger and its tentacles grew thicker and stronger. The blood feaster echo was evolving.
It gained two more tentacles and the scales on its body grew tougher. Akaris couldn’t hold back and laughed out loud.
His echo had grown even stronger than it was before its death. Right now he wondered if he could defeat it even after growing so much stronger himself.
