Chapter 50: Chapter 50: Zombie

The undead wolves ran like the wind, in only a second they had covered more than 100 metres distance.

He pulled his bow string and an arrow formed in a split second, many times faster than when he first learnt the mana arrow skill.

His arrow pierced through the dark day like a blue streak, it whistled as it cut through the air.

It pierced through a wolf’s head, its skull shattered like glass and the fire in its eyes down out.

He shot multiple arrows in a single second taking out more than 6 wolves. Some dodged but Akaris adjusted.

He changed the trajectory of the arrows and still managed to hit those wolves, unfortunately he didn’t hit the head. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

While they were still slowed down momentarily, they had no concept of pain so they rushed towards him regardless.

Even though he did his best to kill as many as he could, there were too many of them and eventually they reached him.

Even though they were mindless undead monsters, they still had the instinct of wolves to hunt in packs.

They circled around him and his echo and flanked them on all sides. His echo could handle anything coming from the front and sides.

But it had a hard time dealing with those coming from the back so they were left to Akaris to deal with.

His arm blurred as he pulled the strings, whistle sounds pierced through the darkness.

Each followed by the sound of breaking bones, alas, he alone couldn’t take out so many wolves at once.

Unlike his echo he didn’t have dozens of tentacles swinging around him. Wolves lunged at him from the front and sides.

Boom, a wave of mana spread out and blew away the undead wolves, bone fragments shot out like bullets destroying even more wolves.

However this did not make Akaris happy, on the contrary he was very worried. Mana wave drained too much mana.

If he continued using it, he will run out much sooner than he would like. Fortunately the wolves were weak.

While they were fast, their durability was very low so even the weakest version of the mana wave could destroy them.

But that was not enough, he needed to take out more of them at once so he waited and gathered his mana.

But the wolves wouldn’t wait for him so he pulled out his sword and used it. The wolves pounced.

Their long whip like bone tails lashed out, his supreme reflex kicked in and his body twisted instinctively.

He dodged multiple tails then lashed out with his sword, sparks flew and light bringer only managed to cut a few centimetres into the tails.

He twisted and swung light bringer in a wide arc. A blade of pure light shot out, the crescent light blade was 4 metres long.

It covered a wide range and took out dozens of undead wolves and a few weaker undead that were nearby.

However what surprised him was the side effect of the light blade. The moment it appeared it lit up the surrounding.

The undead touched by the light started burning and he saw the flames in their eyes flicker like a dying candle.

Then it dawned on him, if light bringer can suppress the blood spawn, why couldn’t it suppress the undead.

After all they were both evil races and light bringer was the nemesis of evil and dark magic.

He immediately used bolster, a domain of light spread out covering both him and his echo.

Unfortunately the echo was merely a puppet, it had no spirit so bolster did not work on it, plus it counted as his property, not an ally.

The undead on the other hand were the opposite, the wolves and a few other powerful undead fared much better.

While weakened they were still able to fight back forcing him and his echo to exert themselves.

The weaker undead were burnt to ashes in seconds. Unfortunately the light of bolster couldn’t spread far beyond the range of his allies.

Since he had no alias here, it merely covered a radius of five metres around him and the echo.

Akaris turned back and saw they were quite close to the giant skeleton now, less than 2 kilometres away in fact.

Unfortunately things were not so easy, the closer they got the more undead appeared and pounced towards them.

Akaris had less than 50 percent of his mana now but he still poured more of it into mana wave.

He had no Idea how powerful it will be now but he wanted it to be as powerful as it could be.

They continued fighting the undead, his supreme reflex plus his evolved hawk eyes allowed him to react and retaliate against the undead.

Then it came, he heard a loud roar, when he turned he saw a giant undead running towards him from under the mountainous whale skeleton.

The undead looked like a gorilla but with four arms and it stood at 20 metres tall. Its power felt no less than that of the undead crawlers.

Akaris placed his left foot forward and bent his knees then held light bringer to his right and took a tail-guard sword stance.

He had run out of mana, or at least his regular mana pool, he was now drawing from the mana heart.

Of its one thousand mana points, only around four hundred were left which was a lot but also very little considering his situation.

The undead four armed gorilla closed the distance with wide steps shaking the ground with each step.

It roared at him, a visible sound wave spread out from its mouth. Akaris used inspect.

Zombie Mountain Ape ( uncommon)

Level 20

?????????

He took a deep breath and poured a hundred mana points into his blade, he wished to use light blade.

Unfortunately light blade was limited in its power but his mana slash depended entirely on his own mana.

A hundred mana points were a lot, his sword glowed with blinding blue light and he swung it diagonally up.

The world turned blue and a crescent blade of mana 7 metres long shot out. It cut the air with incredible speed and sharpness.

The zombie barely reacted before the blade cut a large gash on its chest but no blood came out.

The zombie ape stumbled back then roared and lunged back at him. Akaris poured almost all of his remaining mana into mana wave and lunged.

He kicked off the echo’s head and jumped nearly 10 metres through the air heading for the zombie ape.

The ape attacked, its fist flew at him like a giant rotting wall. Akaris roared and released mana wave.

BOOOOM.
