Timeless Hunter: Blood Of Old-Chapter 51: Meeting Again.
A wave of dense blue mana spread out like a sphere. It collided with the undead ape’s fist, the ape’s arm broke.
The wave continued and rammed its giant body like a speeding truck. The ape flew black like a ragdoll.
The wave ripped the ground apart creating a storm of stone, sand and bone that spread it in every direction.
The undead ape flew for nearly a hundred metres through the air before. The wave expanded for 30 metres before coming to a stop.
It destroyed everything within 30 except him and his echo, his echo counted as part of his posession and was not effected.
Akaris had deliberately limited the range of the wave which is why it was so dense and powerful.
A giant crater formed on the ground where nothing remained. He fell down and landed on his echo.
His echo continued running towards the giant whale skeleton which was less than 200 metres from them now.
The undead ape stood back up with one of its four arms broke. It roared at them and lunged again.
Akaris did not change course, just as they were about to collide his echo jumped, it grabbed him with a tentacle and threw him.
He sailed through the air like an arrow and reached the top of the first rib of the whale like skeleton.
He landed on top of the white bone and balanced himself then turned his attention down to the fight below.
After using mana wave he was only left with 30 mana points, nowhere near enough for anything serious.
His echo collided with the undead ape, the two behemoths wrestled with each other but his echo lost out.
It used it tentacles to bind the arms and legs of the undead ape but the ape’s monstrous strength ripped the apart.
It proceeded to grab the echo and throw it across the air, the giant creature flew a dozen metres away.
It crashed and shattered multiple bone undead before standing up and lunging at the undead ape again.
Akaris sighed, his echo was losing badly, he drew his bowstring and pulled the last of his mana to form an exploding arrow.
He didn’t stop pouring mana until he poured all of it then released the arrow. It pierced through the darkness like a whistling streak.
It exploded against the head of the undead ape sending an explosion of energy spreading out.
The undead ape stumbled forward but readjusted itself and continued pounding his echo to the ground with its four fists.
Akaris canceled the echo skill and summoned his echo back leaving the undead ape roaring to the air.
He looked around at this giant skeleton he was standing on.
It had giant red trees growing on some parts of it, these trees had blood red fruits growing on them. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Akaris used inspect on the tree.
Blood apple tree.
That all the information there was, it didn’t explain what the effect were, whether the apples were edible or not so he didn’t try them.
In between the rib cages of the skeleton were many other bones zigzagging like some intricate structure.
It did not look like the skeleton of a whale or any animal he knew, not to mention it gigantic size.
He walked across one of those bone bridges then jumped up, using them he ascended until he was over a hundred metres above the ground.
The blood sea cannot reach this far, he found a place with a larger more flat bone and slept.
He slept with one eye open with both his bow and sword by his side, he was ready to take action in a split moment should anything happen.
Akaris had not slept for long before he was forced to wake up, his high perception made him sensitive.
He could himself being watched, he grabbed his bow and placed light bringer on his hip, he looked around.
His golden eyes pierced through the dark veil but he saw nothing. His mana had regenerated a little but he had only about 200 mana points.
His mana heart was regenerating even slower. He went back to sleep, sleeping helped with mana regeneration and mental regeneration.
He was very exhausted and needed to rest but resting was hard when you can’t even relax on your sleep.
After some time he heard it, the blood sea came crashing from the horizon. It covered the land below him.
He saw blood spawn trying to climb up but their wet bodies made it impossible for them to climb up the bone.
They were slipping back into the blood sea over and over again. He watched everything vigilantly incase something did manage to climb up.
Then he felt a pair of eyes in him again, he pretended he did not notice. He closed his eyes and listened but heard nothing.
He gently grabbed his bow and placed his fingers on the bowstring ready to pull it at any moment.
He took a deep breath, turned around and pulled his bowstring. A mana arrow formed in a split second and he released it.
He heard a soft feline growl that sounded familiar then saw two green eyes darting through the bone bridges.
Akaris’s arm blurred and he shot his arrows one after another, he released nearly a dozen in a single second.
However he did not manage to hit that creature, he recognised it as Oriana but this was his trial.
It was impossible for Oriana to be here, even though it was fake, it was just as hard as Oriana to hit.
He activated future sight, he hadn’t used it in a while. Then he was able to see her actions beforehand.
He aimed his arrows accordingly yet she managed to dodge at the last second like her body was moving by instinct.
-------------------
Oriana was troubled, this creature that looked like Akaris was just as hard to deal with.
Its arrows targeted her like it knew her next moves, had it not been for the absurdly high instinct of her beast soul she would be dead.
Her instincts in this beast soul form were so powerful, it was as if she could also feel the future.
She ran around the bone branches dodging the mana arrows then used her new skill. Her claws lit up with blue light.
She jumped and spun mid air then swung her claws at a blinding speed, three crescent claw blades shot out as fast as arrows.
Three arrows met the claw blades and both shattered on impact. Before Akaris could react she swung her claws twice in succession.
Six mana claw marks flew at him, he managed to take down four before he was forced to dodge the rest.
He heard a cat’s growl, his arrows lit up like blue lasers through the red sky. They pierced through a tree and headed for her but they missed.
The longer they fought the more Akaris noticed this Oriana was much faster and stronger than the Oriana he knew.
She jumped through the bone bridges like a shadow, of course even with her speed he was able to easily follow her movements.
His hawk eyes and perception were too high for him to not be able to follow movement at the speed.
However being able to follow her movements didn’t mean he could take her down.
He couldn’t do that even though he could see her actions beforehand but he still had an advantage.
She was the one under pressure, if Akaris still had all of his mana, he would’ve been certain he could win this fight easily.
Unfortunately right now he could only use his mana sparingly unless he wants to run out and lose his means to fight.
He took a deep breath, he was going to try something he had never tried before. He drew his bow.
An arrow formed but he didn’t release it, he wielded his mana and coalesced another arrow.
Its forming speed was slow but in less than a second, he had formed a second arrow on top of the first.
( Mana arrow has reached level 14, Mana arrow has reached level 15) His mana arrow skill reached level 15.
Not only can he form mana arrows faster now, he needs less mana to use them but the greatest change was being able to form multiple arrows at once.
Right now he can only form two but as time progressed and his mana arrow skill leveled up< he’ll probably be able to form threw or more.
After the two arrows formed he released his bow, both arrows shot out like twin streaks forcing Oriana to dodge.
She jumped up and landed on another bone before jumping on to another one, she ran like this making it hard to aim for her.
Of course that would be talking about others, Akaris was able to easily aim for her but he still failed to hit her.
However being able to shoot multiple arrows made it hard for her to dodge and as time progressed, she found it harder to react to the arrows.
Akaris released his bow, Oriana twisted her body and the two arrows were about to miss and pass below and above her.
However they suddenly changed trajectory catching her off guard. A painful groan escaped her lips as blood spurted through the air and painted the bones red.
She lost her balance and fell down.
