Too Late to Love Her: When She Divorced, He Fell Apart-Chapter 58: Be It Bad Boy or Sweet Boy, All Are Yours for the Taking
Claire stared at him, her red lips moved slightly: "Are you okay?"
Tristan Lockwood’s expression turned cold: "She just wanted you to help her, did you seriously have to push her?"
He had just come over from behind Claire.
From his angle, all he saw was Jade Sutton trying to ask Claire for help but getting pushed away instead.
"Tristan, Claire might not have done it on purpose." Jade tugged at his shirt, speaking softly, "I didn’t watch the road myself, honestly..."
"Shut up."
Claire interrupted her coldly.
Then she looked at Tristan and said: "She fell on her own, has nothing to do with me. Whether you believe it or not. Even if I did push her, she deserved it."
After saying this, without looking at Tristan’s increasingly gloomy face, she stepped forward deliberately, leaned close to his ear, and said:
"Flirting with her married nephew, what do you think, isn’t tripping on the road karma from the heavens?"
Claire did not notice Tristan’s expression.
But obviously, Jade’s face beside them had already turned pale.
Her watery eyes filled with big tears falling down.
"Has anyone ever told you, your mouth really makes people want to tear it apart? Claire, you’re so vicious."
Tristan’s voice was as cold as an ice cellar.
Claire distanced herself from him, chuckled indifferently: "When I go to court for clients, the opposing lawyer says the same thing to me, so I’ll just take it as a compliment from you."
After saying this, she left without looking back.
Claire practically sped all the way to the law firm.
When she’s angry, she appears calm on the surface, but deep down, she’s rebellious and loves doing thrilling things.
No matter how fast the car, the fire in her heart couldn’t seem to extinguish.
Upon arriving at the firm, Joy Sharp immediately noticed Claire entering the office with a cold face.
Tina Hayes saw it too and exchanged a glance with her.
The two of them coincidentally followed to Claire’s office door.
Joy knocked on the door, cautiously asking: "President Hale, is it convenient?"
Claire gave them a glance and nodded.
Joy smiled cheekily, coming up and said: "Didn’t I mention during Christmas that I wanted to introduce you to my dream man boss? Turns out they’re free tonight, at The Midnight Breeze Bar, President Hale, let’s go check it out together."
Upon hearing The Midnight Breeze, Claire let out a cold laugh involuntarily.
Wonderful, isn’t this Nathan Quinn’s bar, Tristan’s good buddy?
Now, everything related to Tristan makes her angry.
Claire didn’t agree nor disagree, she just looked at Joy and said: "Isn’t this an excuse for you to hang out with your dream man?"
Joy laughed embarrassingly, honestly saying: "Well, maybe just a little. But honestly wanting to introduce you to a good man is part of it too."
"Knowing a person and knowing their face, but not their heart, your dream man boss looks like a good man, but might as well be a hidden jerk."
Her words made Joy too scared to speak.
Tina, who knew Claire better than Joy, gave Joy a look, prompting her to avoid and leave.
She observed Claire’s expression, concerned: "President Hale, are you in a bad mood?"
Claire gave her a look.
Meaning, figure it out yourself.
Tina rolled her eyes, estimating that it’s probably Tristan, the jerk, making President Hale angry.
She grinned with dimples, saying: "President Hale, we can’t lose interest in handsome men because of one guy. I know you’ve been on the strong independent woman path, but who says strong women can’t have multiple men?"
Claire did not speak, but her expression truly showed some emotion.
Tina sensed the opportunity and gently persuaded: "Tristan might be the cream of the crop among men, but you see him every day, surely you’re tired of it. There’s plenty of handsome guys out there, from young wolves to young pups, all at your disposal! Besides, those men with women only care for pleasure, not feelings, we women can find men for enjoyment too!"
At this point, Tina had become quite excited.
Her eyes were sparkling.
Only when she noticed Claire’s gaze constantly on her, did she come back to her senses, laughing: "President Hale, let’s go tonight."
Claire looked at her with a playful smile: "It seems you’re the one wanting to fish for handsome guys!"
These two girls were both using her as an excuse.
Yet, Tina’s words did open up a new thought for her.
Previously, she really only had eyes for Tristan.
He was too outstanding, too dazzling, so much that her gaze always unconsciously focused on him.
Resulting in an unhappy marriage, with a crowd of betrayals.
She subconsciously believed that if even someone like Tristan could turn bad after marriage, how good could the rest be?
Moreover, Tristan now neither wants a divorce nor refuses to support his flirty aunt, she shouldn’t waste energy with him, better to free herself and seek happiness.
That night, Claire went to The Midnight Breeze with Tina and Joy.
Entering the bar, she said calmly: "Tonight’s on me, you can order whatever."
"Yay!"
Tina ordered her drink, asking Joy, "Where’s your dream man?"
Joy was busy messaging on her phone, "He said they just arrived at the entrance."
Just as she finished speaking, a commotion arose at the entrance.
The first person that caught their sight was a young hunk, tall with long legs, pale cold skin, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, expression prim, appearing somewhat out of place in the bar.
Joy unwittingly giggled foolishly.
"Joy, is that your dream man?"
Tina just finished asking when Joy had already scurried over to the man, smiling sweetly, "Jude, it’s been so long, I missed you, did you miss me?"
Jude Jacobs lightly glanced at her, saying coldly: "We saw each other just two days ago."
Joy sighed: "Yeah, it’s been almost forty-eight hours, I had dreams of you last night."
"Jude, is this the childhood friend you mentioned?"
A gentle and clear male voice sounded behind.
Joy turned to see three obscenely handsome guys standing before her.
The guy on the left, the one speaking to Jude, was smiling warmly, gentle and approachable.
The one on the right, wearing a roguish look, smiled darkly.
As for the big ice block in the middle, Joy felt familiar, wasn’t this the guy with a billion she met climbing last time?
Facing three incredible hunks all at once, Joy felt overwhelmed, swallowed a little, and said to Jude: "Jude, allow my heart, for a moment, not to be on you." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Suit yourself."
Jude coldly glanced at her and walked inside.
Nathan Quinn grinned roguishly, pushing Jenson Jennings in front of Joy, asking: "Heard you’re introducing a girlfriend to our dear Jenson, and she’s a beauty, where’s she?"
"Ah! Almost forgot the main thing!"
Joy quickly turned around, pointing at Jenson, waving to Claire, "President Hale! The handsome guys are here!"
