Transmigrated as a Ghost-Chapter 1142 Lyra’s Supreme Skill (3)
While Lyra wanted to glimpse into the future again to see how brining Roxene out earlier might have chaged things, she could already feel her strength beginning to wane.
It had taken a lot of energy to peer just a few minutes into the ten most likely possible futures, and the more she used her powerful racial ability, the more it drained her.
If she did it again, she would lack the stamina to wield the power of whatever form would come after using her Supreme Skill for the final time.
'Our forces haven't chaged from anything I saw before. There will still only be minor differences. But I didn't see what my next Awakening would be when I looked into the future. That means it's a complete wildcard. I'll just have to hope that it's enough to turn the tide.'
Lyra had many different theories as to why her current form's Divination could not see what power she would receive upon using her Supreme Skill again. Nevertheless, none of that mattered right now.
All she needed was strength, and she was going to reach out and grab it no matter what the consequences were.
"Awaken!" 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Once again enveloped by a blinding light, Lyra felt her body being torn apart and put back together again.
It was even more intense than last time, and she felt herself growing cold as if the spark of life within her was being snuffed out.
At first, she thought that forcing herself to Awaken so many times had pushed her beyond her limit. That trying to grasp a power so far beyond her normal limits would bring her to ruin.
Yet she soon realized that was not the case. That the chilling, creeping feeling of death, was something new welling up within her.
When the transformation was complete, a white cloud of freezing mist enveloped Lyra and spread out around her. Obscuring her form.
Immediately, Marcus, Quillon, and Gronex stopped fighting when they felt the immense energy now coming from Lyra. She had been powerful before, but now she was on a completely other level.
'She's on the same level as me. An evolution that reaches the true peak of this world.'
Marcus could instinctually tell just from Lyra's presence that she had ascended to a staggeringly powerful form. A realm even above a mythic grade beast.
The moment that Lyra exhaled her first breath after having undergone an astounding metamorphosis, the white cloud of mist covering her began to dissipate.
Unlike her two previous Evolved Awakenings, this third and final one had seen her undergo a drastic change.
The golden fur that had been her pride and joy was now a pure glimmering white.
Her skin that before had a supple color to it had become an ethereal pale that even gave Marcus' ghostly complexion a run for its money.
Finally, her striking red eyes were now a deep pitch black. As if they were portals to some abyss where no light could exist.
It was a hauntingly beautiful form.
'Did she become some sort of undead?' Marcus thought upon seeing her.
He could feel an incredible aura of deathly energy coming off of her, and it felt similar to some of the powerful undead he had encountered recently.
Yet, there was also an undeniably powerful spark of life within her as well. It was astoundingly strange. Lyra seemed to now wield two opposing powers in a similar fashion to how Marcus could use both light and darkness.
Naturally, Gronex took notice of Lyra's increased power and new form. The ancient Lava Dragon had been looking for a good fight, and having one of his opponents powerup excited him.
Of course, he wanted to know what sort of tricks Lyra was capable of now and gazed at her with his Dragon Eyes to unveil her new secrets.
Except, as he tried to view Lyra's status, the great and powerful ruler of the magma sea cried out in pain. His eyes started to water, and he thrashed his head around in agony.
"You should be careful what you try to look at. Sometimes you will find that it stings your eyes." Lyra said mockingly.
Just as what had happened to Mrazivý once before when she tried using her Dragon Eyes on Zaila when the phoenix was submerged in the Font of Death, Lyra had purposely sent a feedback of deathly energy to Gronex when he tried to forcefully glimpse her status.
Obviously, this had not done much damage, but it had certainly hurt.
Lyra looked pleased to have gotten one over on the Lava Dragon and held out both of her hands in front of herself to attack again.
All of a sudden, several monsters and beasts started to appear out of thin air.
They just seemingly snapped into existence where nothing had been there before.
Some were familiar to Marcus and Quillon, as they had encountered them in the past. With the most striking being a Thunderous Behemoth that looked just like the one that Boreas had killed during the border skirmish between Tralenstein and its neighbors.
"Do not think that such illusions will fool me!" Gronex roared in rage.
He had already seen Lyra conjure all manner of false images to try and confuse him. However, as a dragon, it was easy enough for him to see through such things.
Without a doubt. he thought that this was just another trick, and prepared to charge towards Lyra and get some revenge for the pain she had caused dim. No matter what the creature was, damage to its eyes was always excruciating.
However, had Gronex not been so enraged, he would have noticed that something was off.
All of the illusory creatures that Lyra had created swarmed towards the Lava Dragon.
Each one displaying savage brutality as the pounced onto the giant dragon and started tearing into him.
These beings were not just mere illusions meant to trick the senses, but real, tangible entities that Lyra had created.
