Transmigrated as a Ghost-Chapter 1143 Turning the Tide of Battle
Lyra smiled as she watched beasts and monsters pile on top of Gronex.
All of them had been created by her illusion magic, but thanks to racial ability, Illusory False Life, she could temporarily create copies of any beast or monster she had ever seen.
Of course, they were not quite as powerful as they would have been in real life, but it was still an incredibly powerful ability. It essentially gave her access to an army whenever she so desired it.
Gronex tore through the replicated creatures with ease since none of them could exceed ninety percent of Lyra's own level.
Soon he had fully cleared the wave of beasts and monster with only a few light scratches on his body.
The enormous Lava Dragon glared hatefully at Lyra and opened his mouth to unleash his breath weapon again.
A spray of molten lava burst forth like a beam of light, and it appeared that Lyra was engulfed and completely melted away.
""""It seems that you're too afraid to use your Dragon Eyes on me anymore.""""
When Gronex turned around, he saw eight hundred Lyra's sneering down at him. Speaking in stereo while taunting him.
All of the copies raised their hands high before the ruler of the molten sea could respond, and what looked like a tide of beasts and monsters came crashing down.
However, though Lyra's display was impressive, just doing what she had already had taken a lot out of her.
Every illusion she created required mana, and to use her Illusory False Life ability on them took even more. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Even having only been in her current form for only around twenty seconds, Lyra felt like she would quickly reach her limits.
'Marcus, I could really use a pick-me-up right about now. Follow the telepathic link to the real me.'
Receiving this mental message, Marcus was pulled out of his stupor. He had gotten so distracted by watching Lyra use her new abilities that he had nearly forgotten that he was a part of this fight.
Swiftly and invisibly, he flew over to where Lyra was floating in the air. She was not among her hundreds of copies but had hidden herself behind a false wall.
The moment Marcus saw her, it became apparent just how hard she was pushing herself.
Lyra's nose and eyes were bleeding and her breathing was ragged.
Marcus expressed his concern, telling her that she probably shouldn't use this new power of hers if it was going to push her this far.
For her part, Lyra wanted to laugh at this. In several of the futures she had seen, Marcus had gone well and beyond what she was doing. He had a skill far more dangerous and demanding than what she was doing now.
"I'll be fine. I just exerted myself too much getting to this stage. If you use that recovery Supreme Skill of yours on me once, I should be able to fight at my full power for at least a few minutes. We can't afford to lose here, so if it requires that I get a bit reckless, then that's what I'm going to do." Lyra said, the look in her eyes conveying her unwavering determination.
Seeing that she was resolved and knowing that he was hardly one to talk considering all the times he had nearly destroyed himself wielding power beyond his usual limits, Marcus conjured a small glowing ball of silver light and sent it over to Lyra.
In an instant she felt as if all of her strength had returned.
Marcus Ultimate Refresh Supreme Skill once again proved its immense worth, and Lyra was doing better than she ever had before.
Having exhausted herself just to reach her current Awakening made it impossible to show off the form's true power. But now she could go all-out without worry
'This really makes me think that the Administrator picked out these Supreme Skills not just for us individually, but also for how they work together in a group. I suppose that might have been why that special dungeon made us go through parts of it as teams. No single induvial can truly be perfect, but as a team we can cover our weaknesses.'
Not long after Lyra had her status fully restored, Gronex became fed up with fighting her illusions.
A massive surge of magma erupted around the giant dragon and consumed everything in its path. Thousands of conjured beasts and monsters cried out as they were burned away. The mana that had held them together dispersing into the air.
"I am done humoring you, girl. If I wanted to fight hordes of insects, I could do so easily." Gronex growled, clearly not enjoying the way the battle had progressed.
He was looking to test his might against a small group of powerful opponents. Not fight wave after wave of conjured creatures.
"Very well. That was just the warmup. I hope you don't find what coming next to be too 'Entertaining'."
As she bowed exaggeratedly, Lyra's body began to shimmer, and soon there were eight more of her, four standing on either side.
These were no mere illusions brought to life by her Illusory False life ability.
Each of them was a true copy of her.
Even when she was still in her normal awakened state, she had an ability similar to this one that allowed her to create weaker clones.
Yet, in her current form, as a Life and Death Nine Tailed Fox, there was no loss of stats or regular skills among her band of doppelgangers. The only things that they did not have were Lyra's titles, unique skills, and Supreme Skill. Everything else about them was exactly the same as the original.
Gronex's interest seemed piqued by Lyra's cloning ability. He could tell at a glance the eight extras around her were all strong in their own right. This had essentially tripled the number of powerful opponents he had to fight with.
""""I wonder if you'll still be able to smile like that soon."""" All of the Lyra's said at once.
A moment later, their weapons and the tips of their tails burst into flames.
Except it was no longer the beautiful silverish-blue flame that Lyra normally possessed, but a pure, dark black.
