Transmigrated As The Final Villain of a Death Game-Chapter 137: The Harper Citadel Arc Aftermath [ 19 ]
We flew for what felt like hours.
But eventually, I cancelled the red lightning, and the two of us began hurtling down toward a forest like two meteorites.
I wanted to stop us. I really did.
Yet I felt like I ran out of energy completely.
Right as I accepted that I would hit a tree face first, Clementine hugged me and stopped our momentum completely.
CRACK
THUD! THUD! THUD!
Though the result of us stopping so abruptly created a powerful cone-like aftershock that toppled several trees and sent leaves flying into the sky.
But now that we’ve stopped, I weakly glanced back.
The energy that had been following us stopped a few kilometers behind the forest.
Which probably means Kai’s explosion enveloped nearly 100 kilometers worth of area...
I wonder if he’s still alive?
Haha.
Who am I kidding.
Of course he’s alive.
Clementine floated us down to the forest and sat me down against a tree, then placed my katana beside me.
"Amon, I’ll step away for a few minutes. Will you be okay?"
Her eyes were slightly red from crying, and her hands trembled.
This... It was a lot for her.
So even if I felt like my body was breaking apart, I simply smiled and nodded at her.
"Take your time, Clementine. And when you’re back, let me heal you."
She stared at me for a moment, then leaned in and kissed me.
It was a little rough, since, well... she was still with her diamond skin, but it’s the thought that counts.
She eventually backed away and began walking deeper into the forest.
Once I could no longer hear her footsteps, I exhaled a sharp breath, alongside a mouthful of blood.
I pushed myself way beyond my Vitality limit, absorbed a literal Demonic Core, and... even after I turned off my Wrath Transformation, my vision was the same, and my horns weren’t going away either.
To say it was rough would be an understatement.
Even so, I took a few deep breaths and decided to evaluate the damage.
Because I sucked in all the energy coming my way, the Demonic Energy I absorbed assimilated with my heart, and now, wherever I go, so long as someone has the ability to detect demons... I will be spotted.
Aside from the clear injuries and muscle tears, my eyes are taking a lot longer to heal than before.
But despite almost everything going wrong, one thing went right.
[Ding!]
[You have completed a [Main] quest!]
[Objective: Stop Kai ??? from absorbing the Demon Transformation Pill (Complete)]
[Reward: Gift Selection]
[Additional Reward if the total casualties of the Harper Citadel do not exceed 90%: +250 Free Stat Points (Failed)]
[Difficulty: ★★★★★ (Impossible)]
I completed the quest.
And although I didn’t get +250 Free Stat Points, I got something just as good, if not better.
[Ding!]
The system interface flashed several times in front of me until finally stopping and surprisingly displaying five choices.
[1. Shadow Manipulation]
[2. Blacksmith’s Touch]
[3. Defense Aura]
[4. Corruption]
[5. Sword Saint]
Two demonic choices, one utility, defense, and lastly, a class-like Gift.
Honestly... I didn’t really like any of these.
Shadow Manipulation was easy to counter, and Corruption was a damage-over-time Gift.
It was really good, but if I were to use it against Grade 50s or higher, they’ll already know how to dispel curses.
Blacksmith’s Touch... I’m never going to be a blacksmith.
I didn’t even consider Defense Aura, and lastly...
Sword Saint.
Yeah.
Out of all of them, Sword Saint is the only one I can utilize.
And as much as I hate to admit it, I’m decent at swordsmanship, and not using something I’m good at just because of preference... was stupid.
So with that in mind, I went ahead and pressed on the last option.
[Ding!]
[You have chosen Sword Saint.]
[New Gift: Sword Saint [Beginner] (Lv.1)]
After a brief pause, another bout of pop-ups came.
[Ding!]
[Sword Saint [Beginner → Intermediate]]
[Sword Saint [Intermediate → Advanced]]
[Sword Saint [Advanced → Expert]]
[Sword Saint [Expert → Master]]
[...]
[Your Gift has been fixed.]
[New Gift: Sword Saint [Master] (Lv.15)]
That’s much better.
At least it took my swordsmanship knowledge to heart.
Still, with the Gift chosen, and nothing else left but to recover from my injuries, I fiddled around with the mushy ground slightly, and then finally opened up my status screen.

"..."
Five Gifts.
I actually had five Gifts.
Even back in the game, the most I’ve ever seen was four Gifts, and yet here I am...
I really might not need the main cast to reach the end.
But practicing all five of them is going to be very tricky.
Or so I thought, but when I focused on my Telekinesis, I accidentally lifted the tree in front of me.
Confused, I imagined the tree being set aflame, and to my genuine surprise, I enveloped it in Pyrokinesis.
It was completely seamless.
In the same manner, I enveloped my body in Red Lightning, and also used regular lightning to send several sparks into the sky.
I closed my eyes in excitement and quickly glanced at my heart.
There were five swirling energies inside it, separated into each segment just like how I first turned the Lightning Affinity into Lightning Manipulation.
All five of my Gifts had their own place in my heart, and they didn’t clash with one another, nor did they increase my heart rate unnaturally.
It looked like whatever the Demonic Energy did... it managed to stabilize all my Gifts.
There’s a lot of work I’ll need to do if I want to get the most out of all those Gifts.
But for now, I decided to get some well-deserved rest.
After all, because of how this mission turned out, our names were tainted, and no matter where we went, we would be hunted.
Still... I wanted to visit the healer now more than ever.
The journey is going to be very far, as the healer is far west of the continent.
But he’s a part of the 12 Calamities, the same organization who I met on several occasions.
And now I’ll be meeting one face to face...
Anyhow, I closed my eyes once again, preparing to drift off to sleep.
Before I could, slow footsteps approached me, then stopped.
I opened my eyes and saw Clementine standing over me, not saying a word.
I didn’t say anything either, just opened my arms wide.
After a brief moment of hesitation, Clementine jumped into my embrace and snuggled her face deep into my chest.
Within a few minutes, soft snores resounded.
I gently brushed her hair, and eventually, I drifted off to sleep as well.
