Transmigrated Into The Body Of The Cursed Prince Wife-Chapter 229: Afraid
Chapter 229: Afraid
"No. I am not leaving no matter what you do or say. If you wanted to kill me, you would have when you strangled me, and since you didn’t, I believe you wouldn’t again," she whispered as she hugged his head to her bosom. He was struggling to get away, but it seemed he had been weakened from all his night of suffering that he was reduced to this state where he couldn’t even fight her grip. He tried to pry her hands from around him, and when he couldn’t, he growled inhumanly to scare her away and bared his fangs at her. But due to the dimness, Ave couldn’t see the fangs, and his growl was doing nothing to scare her because now she believed he wasn’t going to hurt her again after he’d recognized her.
Lucian didn’t have the kind of faith she had in himself. He didn’t trust himself not to suddenly get consumed by his bloodlust. He had stayed away from her that night for a reason before he was brought here. Her scent made him want her blood, and just like that night, he could feel his fangs coming out even without him transforming because he wanted desperately to bite into her warm flesh and suck out every little drop of blood in her body until he could quench his intense thirst for her blood. And now that he was in this condition, Lord help her if he were to lose control and bite into her flesh—he wouldn’t be able to stop until her death.
"Aveline, leave now, or I will bite you and take your blood. You’re terrified of fangs, aren’t you? That’s exactly how I’ll take it from you," he muttered, his voice low and strained against her chest, his warm breath fanning her skin as she held his head tightly against her breasts while she stroked his hair gently, but his words made her immediately stiffen. "If you don’t want that, go. Leave, and I’ll see you in a week."
He was trying to scare her away, Ave realized, as she felt him use his fangs to graze her skin as if to make her feel he was serious since she couldn’t see the fangs in the darkness. Fangs...
Ave felt her heart tremble as a fear she didn’t recognize as hers consumed her. It was the same feeling as that day when he asked to bite her. The thought of fangs always terrified her more than she wanted it to, especially when they belonged to a night creature. But Lucian wasn’t a night creature. He was a weird Lycan who seemed to bare his fangs even without transforming.
She almost let him go and made a run for it when she felt his fangs graze the swell of her breast where she held his head, sending shiver down her spine. But then, knowing he was doing it to scare her away, she pushed her fears to the back of her mind and refused to let go.
"You can bite me if that’s what you want to do. Take my blood," she said with a determination that made Lucian pause. He went still for a moment as if he couldn’t believe her words. Even Ave couldn’t believe she’d said that for a moment because of her fear of being bitten. However, now that she’d said it, she had no plans of backing out.
Moving back to look at his burning gaze that found hers in the dim dungeon, she caressed his heated cheeks and told him, "You can take my blood." Her blood had healed him once, and though she had come with the intention to cut her wrist and feed it to him, she belatedly realized it would be best to overcome this fear of fangs while at the same time letting him get the satisfaction of biting her like he had always wanted to. It would just be like the pain of two injections piercing her skin at the same time. Even though she hated injections, she assured herself as she looked down at his face with a reassuring smile.
"It’s okay, you can bite me," she whispered to him again as she used her thumb to caress his cheek. He shook his head and moved away from her so quickly Ave didn’t get to grab him.
"I won’t, at least not in this condition. Go back and leave me," he told her firmly as he moved away from her.
Lucian would never dare to bite her in such a condition where he was fighting for control over his own body. He didn’t trust that he would let her go if he were to bite into her smooth flesh. He didn’t trust that he would let her go without taking every drop of blood in her. She was able to stop his pain during the normal full moon, but the red moon didn’t only come with pain but desires and dark urges. He was himself, and yet he wasn’t. It was like he was sharing his very being with something demonic during the red moon, especially at night, and that dark being didn’t care if she was his wife or not—it would suck her dry until the very last drop.
Ave didn’t know where her courage came from and why she couldn’t imagine leaving here without him, but she knew somehow that her blood would help him, and she was going to make him have it no matter what.
Coming up to her feet, she followed him to where he had moved to and hugged him before he could get away again. She knew if it wasn’t for the fact that he was weakened from days of being down here, he would have easily gotten away from her, but his movements were not only sluggish but slow. She felt him stiffen when she hugged him. His body was unnaturally hot against hers, and she could feel the stickiness of dried blood that probably belonged to the people he had killed down here on his skin. However, she didn’t allow the thought to scare her as she held him to her, nor did she dwell on the thought that he was naked. She tightened her arms around his midsection.
"I am willing to do anything for as long as you’d come out of here with me. Have you forgotten I recover faster than the normal human? If my blood is what you want, you can have it," she whispered softly as she rested her head against his chest where she could hear his heart throbbing in a strange rhythm that sounded abnormal. Was it because of his condition?
"Aveline... ugh..." He groaned painfully as he went on his knees, and she went down with him instead of letting him go. The more she talked about blood, the more he wanted to sink his fangs into her and take what she was so willingly offering him until the ache in his throat went away, until the monster tormenting him internally was satisfied, and until he’d drained her of every last drop of blood. She had no idea she was playing with flames by being here offering him her blood. She didn’t know what she risked, but he knew, which was why nothing she would say or do would make him dare to take her blood.
However, if she kept insisting, he couldn’t trust that he could hold back any longer. The more he tried to stop himself from thinking of the taste of her blood, the more the pain in his head and body increased. He was only able to control himself for a little while because it wasn’t night, but when the nighttime came, his transformation was uncontrollable, and so was his sanity.
"Lucian, don’t fight it. Bite me and take as much as you want. I will recover from it," Ave urged him as she tried to hold him, but he kept pushing her away and frantically shaking his head. This time, he didn’t even allow her to hold him as he moved far away to the walls, grabbing his head and begging her to go away.
Seeing that nothing she did was going to make him take her blood, Ave closed her eyes and took deep breaths. Then, opening her eyes, she reached for the hairpin in her hair. The moment she pulled the pin, half of her hair held up by it came pouring down heavily around her shoulders, and she moved them all to one shoulder to open her neck.
She could cut her wrist and feed him the blood, but apart from that, Ave wanted him to take it himself because she could tell that was exactly what he desired to do. She also wanted so much to overcome the fear of fangs, but if she didn’t allure him into taking a bite, nothing she was going to do would make him take her blood. He had moved far away into the corner and turned away from her. She could see how his body shook uncontrollably as he fought with himself.
The sight of him in this condition twisted her heart into a tight knot of helplessness. He had suffered for years with a curse for a sin he didn’t even know about. All this while, she had wondered what his curse was about, but it had never for once crossed her mind that he went through such intense torment for days and nights without relief, and now that she knew, she couldn’t possibly turn away from him and leave him alone like he said she should when she knew ways to take away the pain.
Watching his trembling form, Ave smiled bitterly as she raised the hairpin to her neck. Without hesitation, she made a small cut on her neck and moved her hair away as she stared at him. She watched him stiffen for a moment before he jerked his head in her direction. His eyes seemed to zoom in on her neck and then back to her face where she smiled at him and beckoned him forward with her open arms.
Lucian could feel the walls of his restraint falling away at the sight of his beckoning, beautiful, angelic wife kneeling down in the middle of the dirty dungeon. She was the only brightness in this smelly, darkened place, and the drop of blood that trailed down her smooth, delicate, fair skin made his deep hunger rise to such intensity he couldn’t control. The sweet scent of her blood wafted to his nostrils, and immediately his fangs grew in his mouth and his claws lengthened. He dug them into the ground to hold himself back from moving towards her, but no matter what he did, he could no longer control himself nor stop himself from leaping forward.
In a flash, Lucian had reached Ave and grabbed her into his arms. He didn’t bite her but tilted her head to the side before he leaned into her neck and ran his tongue from her collarbone, where the drop of blood had trailed down to, up to where she had cut herself. He sucked on her skin like it was the most delicious thing in the whole world. He let out a throaty groan as he licked and sucked on it.
Ave felt his hands dig into her waist as she felt his tongue move along her skin. She tried not to impulsively move away when she felt his fangs graze her neck. She noticed he kept on licking and sucking her skin without biting, with his heavily abnormal breathing falling on her skin, Ave reached up and cradled his head as she moved her head to the side to give him more access.
"You can bite me if you want more, darling," she whispered coaxingly into his ear as she ran her fingers into his hair and stroked it gently. But instead of biting, his mouth paused against her skin. He didn’t move away, nor did he bite her. He just stayed like that with his rough breathing falling on her skin.
"I’m afraid... I don’t want to hurt you," he whispered achingly against her skin as his arms tightened around her, bringing her closer to his body. Lucian could feel some changes in his body from just the little blood he’d had from her. His pain was reducing, and his thirst was increasing. He wanted more of her, but he was afraid of taking it because he feared he might not be able to stop himself.
