Transmigrated Into The Body Of The Cursed Prince Wife-Chapter 245: Superiority
Chapter 245: Superiority
Lucian went into the Nazia royal courtroom where the man sent to call him had said the court members of the werewolf packs were waiting for him. He hadn’t been in a hurry to come to them because he wanted to demonstrate to them what dominance and authority truly mean. He had to show them how he was more in power than they all were, and they would do as he ordered. He wasn’t only an Alpha Lycan, like Rylan had said, but also the son of an Emperor who ruled the kingdoms under Pendragon. He wouldn’t have wanted to use this method on them had they simply not tried to force him to take another woman as a second wife.
Lucian walked into the courtroom in long, careful strides with an air of nonchalance and power around him that made every single one of the court members stand to their feet against their will, including the king, who was frowning deeply at Lucian as he could sense the air emitting from him. It felt as if he was the leader of them all, and their instinct had forced them to pay him respect against their will.
King Talinor was left speechless as he watched the prince make his way to sit on the highest chair opposite him. That chair was left for the second in command of their pack, but because Talinor had the power to control all of his people, he has never needed a beta by his side. He’d become the Alpha and king by killing his own father, who everyone feared. He had always been the leader of his people, but now... the prince—the air he released was unbearable to even Talinor himself. He could barely breathe without inhaling the intoxicating, dominating energy around the prince that would make any were-person submit instinctively to him.
To the were-people, the one with the most dominating energy always took the place of their leader, and right at this moment, Lucian had that.
They couldn’t dare even sit down until he gestured for them to sit and get to the reason they all gathered here today.
Talinor cleared his throat and tried to recover after the overwhelming air had gone down a bit. "We have come to the final conclusion, Prince Lucian. If you are not willing to make the little sacrifice we asked of you by taking our princess as your wife to birth you an heir, you can pack your people and leave our kingdom," he said as he met the prince’s calm, darkened eyes. He could barely keep the eye contact because, for some reason, the prince was using his overwhelming presence that asserted the Alpha’s superiority and made them all submissive.
Lucian leaned forward on the long table where the court members sat around it with him and their king at the end of each side, facing each other. He intertwined his fingers and rested his chin on them as he smiled faintly. "I have a question for you, Talinor," he said calmly.
Though Talinor didn’t want to give Lucian any chance to speak because he wanted the man out of his pack now that he had such energy that suppressed his, he found himself giving him the permission to ask whatever he wanted to. He could see his brothers hiding a smile at the fact that he couldn’t hold on to Lucian.
"You are refusing to help me because I can’t touch my wife to make an heir, and I don’t want to marry your princess to make one, right?" Lucian questioned.
"Yes. If the woman you married isn’t a fragile human and could have your child, we wouldn’t have been against you or insisted you marry our princess," said one of the court members without meeting Lucian’s eyes.
"Good, then." Lucian laughed, causing them to look at him in confusion. He continued to speak, "My wife is no fragile human. I consummated my marriage with her last night," he declared to them, and now they stared at him in disbelief as they’d never heard of any human who could withstand a were-person in bed, furthermore not just any were-person but one like this prince who was making them all nervous for absolutely no reason at all!
"That’s impossible!" Talinor slammed his fist against the desk. "If you think you can make up lies to get us to help you, you’re mistaken, Prince Lucian! No human can survive a night with our kind," he rebuked furiously, as he believed the prince was trying to lie his way to get their support. That fragile-looking, pale woman could never have been able to live had a man like him taken her to bed.
Lucian’s eyes narrowed at the king’s angry outburst. "Careful, Talinor. Accuse me of being a liar again, and I won’t take it lightly. My wife and I spent the entire night consummating our marriage, and she’s stronger than any woman of your kind. Let me make one thing clear—she is my mate because I’ve already marked her. If you doubt me, I can summon her right now for everyone to confirm it."
Nobody believed his words; Lucian could tell from their expressions. He was cursed to live his entire life without a mate, and now he claimed a human as his mate. With their mentality of believing all humans to be weak and fragile, they wouldn’t believe it until he made them see it themselves.
"Go get my wife," he ordered no one in particular as he leaned back against his chair. The members exchanged looks of astonishment as they couldn’t believe he was ordering them when there were no guards or maids in the courtroom. When no one got up to follow his orders, his eyes swept across them one by one until Prince Kale got up and decided to go and get her before they’d suffocate to death with the energy in the air.
Nobody spoke again until Prince Kale returned to the courtroom with Ave following behind him quietly. She didn’t know why she had been called here, but she couldn’t help but feel nervous at the thought that it was because they still wanted her to talk Lucian into marrying their princess. Prince Kale had only told her that she was being summoned by the king, but entering a room filled with men whose heads all turned to her the moment she entered, she couldn’t help the wavering of her footsteps under their eyes.
She searched around the unfamiliar faces until her eyes settled on her husband, who flashed her a smile and got up from his chair and walked up to meet her halfway. Knowing that Lucian was here, she relaxed a bit and straightened her back.
"They want to see your mark, love," he whispered to her when he noticed the slightly confused look on her face as she looked at him.
Ave wanted to ask him many questions about the progress of their discussion but then decided it wasn’t the right time when they wanted to see the mark he’d made on her neck. She nodded her head without a word. Before she could move her hair to show the mark, Lucian had done it for her. He pulled her to him and carefully moved her hair aside to reveal the dark, crescent-shaped mark on her slender, milky neck to the men who all stood to their feet to see.
Ave heard the men in the room let out a gasp of surprise in unison as if they couldn’t believe she bore his mark. She might not have known the nature of their discussion before she was called, but she could tell they hadn’t believed she was her husband’s mate, and for some twisted reason, she found herself taking pleasure in their surprise and disbelieving murmurings. Didn’t they all believe her to be fragile?
She felt Lucian’s fingers gently trace the mark on her neck before he pulled her hair back down to cover it. Looking down at her with a smile on his face, he told her, "You can leave. I’ll see you in a while." He patted her head before he turned back and went to his seat after she left the room.
"How is that possible?" came Talinor’s disbelieving voice. When their kind marks their mate, the marking process was always known to be a bit too much for their females to handle, so much so that sometimes some even remained unconscious for a few days before they regained their strength again. Marking wasn’t only about biting the neck of your mate; there was always venom released from the fangs that darkened the mark into what it was. He’d witnessed how many of his brothers’ wives had not been able to handle the heat that came with the marking, and yet a mere human had recovered so quickly from being marked.
Talinor could hardly even believe that the prince’s curse had been lifted, not to mention that a mere human had mated with him. freёweɓnovel.com
"Now tell me, what other reason is there for you not to help me?" Lucian questioned calmly as he looked at the members who were still finding it hard to digest everything they’d seen and heard.
"This is the first time anything like this has ever happened in all of history, Prince Lucian. But I hope you know the consequences of mating with a human. Humans are not like our kind. If she gets hurt, you’d feel the pain without being able to fight or heal from it, and if she dies... you will never be able to recover from the grief of it. Humans don’t have as long a lifespan as our kind. She is meant to leave the world before—"
Lucian slammed his fist against the table to cut off Lord Nicholas’s words. His eyes burned until there was no white in them as he glared at the man murderously. He didn’t know why the words of his wife’s death alone made him want to burn something—and that something being the insolent fool who had uttered the words.
"I don’t want to hear another word from you about my mate," Lucian said, his voice low and cold, like a blade pressing against the throat. "Speak of her death again, and I’ll show you what it means to wish for your own. For as long as I draw breath, nothing will harm her—not even the weight of your pathetic foresight. Now, I suggest we return to the original subject before I lose what little restraint I have left and silence you permanently." His darkened eyes glinted with a dangerous promise as they slowly returned to their original color.
Lord Nicholas dared not say another word again and remained as silent as a mouse stealing in the dark. He wasn’t ready to get killed by the menace of a prince.
Talinor finally parted his lips to speak after none of the members seemed willing to say a word again. "I know you might not want to hear this, but let me tell you something. Just because you’ve mated with her doesn’t mean she can bear your child. I don’t even believe that is possible when she has no beast within her. You—"
"You will support me, whether you like it or not," Lucian said, his voice calm but brimming with a dangerous edge as his piercing gaze locked onto the king. "I don’t care if my wife can never bear my child—she will remain the only woman by my side in this lifetime. But if you refuse to give me your support..." He paused, his lips curling into a cruel smirk as his eyes gleamed with menace. "I will carve my path to the Empire throne myself, and when I do..."
His tone dropped to a low, chilling growl. "I will annihilate the entire werewolf clan with my bare hands."
Rising to his feet, he leaned forward just enough for his shadow to loom over them all. "You have until evening to decide. Stand by me, and you lose nothing instead you stand to gain alliance with the emperor. Stand against me, and you lose everything dear to you."
