Transmigrated Into The Body Of The Cursed Prince Wife-Chapter 250: First man
Chapter 250: First man
Rylan made his way towards the stairs to see if he’d meet his brother-in-law halfway or wait for him outside the Royal courtroom to hear the outcome of the meeting before he’d return to his room. He couldn’t stay with his sister for as long as he wanted because he had responsibilities back in Banzai. He had told the king of Banzai and his overprotective mother, the queen, who he had grown to care about and love despite her not being his real mother because of the years he’d been with her, that he was going to attend Caelan’s coronation in place of them.
The queen wouldn’t be able to stay long without seeing him and might decide to travel to the imperial palace if he didn’t return. She believed he was her only child now after losing Madeline, who he wanted to love like a sister, but her attitude and behavior had made him not have a strong bond with her even when she was alive, and even now after her death, he didn’t care about her like he did his real sister.
He wanted to keep being Aaron to them until he took the throne and secured his position in the court. He couldn’t turn his back on Banzai completely, knowing if he lost it, he would have nothing. He wanted to make certain Ave would have nothing to worry about before he would leave her to the prince’s complete care. If Lucian had Nazia as his backing, then everything would fall into place for him, and Rylan would be able to rest knowing his sister was safe. And if Lucian was not capable of protecting her...
Rylan would do anything to take her away and find her a place to hide in Banzai under his watch.
Rylan was about to descend the stairs and make his way to the courtroom when he heard the sound of someone crying. A woman sobbing earnestly from a corner in the hallways that led to the guestroom where he was staying and the other Pendragon siblings were. He wanted to ignore it, but his feet pulled him toward the sob as it sounded broken.
With his hands folded behind him, he walked up to the dark corner and stood there. His brows rose in surprise when he saw who it was crying like that in the corner. As if sensing his presence, she jerked her head away from between her bended knees and glanced up at him, tears streaming down her pale cheeks and blue eyes.
As if embarrassed to be caught crying like a baby, Celeste hurriedly looked away from her brother-in-law and hid her face in the shadows of the corner. "I’m sorry..." She apologized as she couldn’t seem to stop her tears. She recalled the teachings of her mother that a princess must never cry before a man or anyone. She is to put her head up and carry herself with grace and elegance. Men dislike women who weep like infants, especially a princess.
Rylan watched the blond girl hiding her face and her shoulders jerking uncontrollably from her sobs. Sighing silently, he crouched down before her and reached out to turn her head so she could look at him. He was familiar and used to girls crying because he had basically seen and been there when Madeline was growing up; whenever she cried about her broken jewelry, he was always there to console her. He was a man who knew how to console his younger ones because he’d grown seeing every young girl as if she were his sister, whom he’d missed.
Holding her chin in his hand, he used his other hand to wipe away her tears in a manner he believed was brotherly, but to Celeste, she froze and stared at him in shocked disbelief as her heart seemed to miss a beat at his gentle touch on her cheeks.
"Now tell me, young one, why are you crying alone in the dark? Did someone do anything to hurt you in this palace? Hmm?" He looked into her rounded blue eyes as she stared at him without blinking. Still holding her chin, he caressed her cheek as he waited for her to answer.
Celeste, who had never had any man touch her face or talk to her with such a gentle voice, felt herself melting under his deep blue eyes as they regarded her patiently.
"I...I missed home...I want to go back home and take care of mother...they are not okay, I had a dream of mother weeping in a dirty room and..." She couldn’t finish her words and broke into a fist of sobs, and without thinking, she hugged the only man who seemed willing to listen and console her. She tightened her arms around him and buried her face in his chest.
Rylan was not surprised. He had such an effect on young girls whenever he consoled them. Perhaps it was the way he always did it that made them feel they could trust him and end up crying against his chest. He’d done it many times he’d lost count, from servants to noble and royal young women, and this princess was no exception.
Holding her to his chest, he patted her back in a gentle manner. "It’s all right, everything will be fine, and you’ll be back in the imperial palace in no time." He whispered softly, and he felt her arms tighten around his waist.
She hiccupped, "How did you know?"
"Because your elder brother is making a great effort to take you all back home. Trust in him and let him do his things." He told her, referring to Lucian, and slowly he felt her sobs begin to subside, but her hold on him didn’t loosen.
Rylan had done his job and felt it was time he got back to his business. "All right, you should return to your room and sleep. Being out here at night is not safe." He told her, but yet she made no effort in letting go of his waist; she even rested her head comfortably against his chest until he couldn’t hold her weight in his crouching position and fell back against the wall of the narrow corner with her still holding onto him, sitting between his legs now.
"Princess, let go." He said softly to the young woman, his brows pulled into a displeased frown as he didn’t like how she sat between his legs. He was trying to be a big brother and not... well, he didn’t like how she was holding him now. It was too damn intimate to be a brotherly embrace and position.
"You feel nice and smell nice. A mere guard can’t have such an expensive scent... who are you, really?" Celeste whispered under her breath as she couldn’t seem to pull away from the warmth he offered her. His consoling and assurance had taken away her worries, but her worries were now replaced with something she couldn’t quite place her hands on as she held him, feeling the warmth of his body enveloping her, even though he didn’t hold her back. She felt her body warm up from the inside in a strange way that made her snuggle closer to him.
"I am your brother-in-law, now let go of me, Princess." He said a bit strictly, like he was talking to a naughty child.
She began to sob again because of the voice he used on her when he had been nice a while ago. She released his waist but didn’t move away as she dropped her face into her palm. "I am sorry..." She apologized with a trembling voice at her unladylike behavior of holding a man she barely knew in such a way.
Rylan hated to see young girls crying, thus he reached out to pat her head again, "You needn’t apologize, I didn’t mean to scold you. Now let me escort you back to your chamber." He said as he began to stand up while pulling her up with him, but the girl did something that made him freeze in disbelief and shock.
The princess raised her face towards his before he saw it coming and kissed his lips. It was intentional because she didn’t pull back to apologize and pressed her lips on his. She used her tongue to trace his lips, and his eyes widened even more, and his fingers dug into her arms, about to pull her away from him, but her arms clutched his neck now.
Hell be damned! Rylan thought as he found himself unable to push her away like he had intended now that she was kissing him in a curious, inexperienced way that made the man in him immobilized to her lips’ arrest.
Celeste had no idea what she was doing. She had seen her elder brother kiss his wife in the training grounds this afternoon, and she had felt her body react in a way that made her wish she had a man to kiss like that as well. It was a strange feeling that made her feel ashamed of it, but when she had hugged this man now, she felt the same feeling return and warmed her up from the inside until she had acted impulsively when his head moved closer to her when he tried to help her up.
If her mother knew she was having such feelings and was kissing a man seven years older than she was, she wouldn’t only get scolded but hit for such behavior. But who could blame her? She was eighteen now and in the age to be in her husband’s house, and what she’d seen in the training grounds this afternoon made her want to know what this feels like.
Instead of pushing her away like he intended to do, Rylan found himself holding her to him and letting the man in him take over to teach her inexperienced lips ways to move. Grabbing her by the waist, he sat her sideways on his lap and opened his mouth to her already open mouth that was moving against his. He would regret this later, but damn, it had been long since he’d kissed a woman or allowed one to kiss him. Whenever he took a woman to bed, he never kissed them or allowed them to kiss him.
She was picking up so fast in ways to move her lips that Rylan, who would never be caught dead kissing a young girl in a dark corner, not to mention his sister-in-law at that, was beginning to lose the strings of his control. His hands twitched and flickered because he controlled himself from touching her body, but when she moved closer to him and settled directly against his manhood, he muttered a curse and kissed her hungrily before he jerked away from her lips that moved forward to cover his again, but he quickly raised his hand to block her mouth.
"That’s enough." He breathed huskily with widened eyes as he couldn’t believe what he had done. If he found a man kissing his sister like this in a corner, he would kill that person, but here he was like a pervert doing the same to an inexperienced, curious young girl.
She stared at him shyly with a flushed face and slightly swollen lips. "Have you ever done this with any other man?" He asked before he could stop himself, as she didn’t shy away from his narrowed eyes. Despite the flush on her face, she was even using her fingers to toy with the front of his shirt button.
She shook her head. "You are the first..."
Closing his eyes, Rylan took a deep breath to control himself. He needed to tell Lucian to discipline his siblings because this one seemed so clueless about the danger of kissing a man like that. All the women he’d ever had were mature ones, ones way older than his younger sister, but he had ended up kissing one even younger than Aveline herself. The worst part, he enjoyed it more than he wanted to or even admit to himself.
Looking into her eyes, he realized she had beautiful eyes and she looked adorable with the redness on her face. He wanted to yell at her and push away from him so she would never attempt to do that again, but instead, he found himself caressing her chin with his thumb as he said, "Don’t ever do that to any other man, understand? And don’t allow them to do that to you."
Blinking at him, she asked, "What about you?"
Well, you can with me but not anyone else, he thought in his mind but dared not say it out. "Even me. Now let me escort you back to your chamber before you find another man to kiss," he said, sounding a bit irritated at the thought of it.
"I won’t do that with another person; it’s only you I feel it with. Will you teach me how to do it perfectly some other time?" she asked as she refused to stand up from his lap, even as he patted her to move off his swollen manhood. It would have alarmed any woman who understood the meaning of the bulge she was sitting on, but the fact that she neither noticed nor knew what it was made him realize how utterly clueless the lass was. He belatedly realized how dangerous it was to be in a dark corner such as this, with her sitting directly on him.
Rylan looked down at her swollen lips and swallowed hard. "Your curiosity will make you—" he stopped mid-sentence as he heard the sound of approaching footsteps. He didn’t have to even go and check to know that it was Lucian, who he had intended to go and wait for before coming to the crying princess, who, just by a kiss, he felt strangely spellbound and attracted to and the urge to protect and keep her for himself.
Such a stupid thought! He should whip her on her brother’s behalf to teach her a few lessons and remind her of the proper manners of a woman, instead of having these damn thoughts of possessiveness!
Hurriedly standing to his feet while tugging her up with him by the waist, he leaned down to whisper, "If you know what is good for you, princess, don’t ever come before me again or do what you did. Go back to your room immediately and sleep," he said softly as he looked down at her lips one last time before walking out of the corner and hurrying up to catch up with Lucian, who was walking back toward his room in long strides.
Celeste remained in the shadows as she pressed a hand to her lips and the other to her stomach. "Oh no, am I going to have his babe for what I did?" she wondered with widened eyes as she recalled the teachings of their governess, who told she and Isolde that a kiss from a man could get a lady pregnant and they must not allow anyone to kiss them other than their husbands.
She had acted impulsively when she kissed him, but the problem was that she didn’t regret it one bit; if he comes before her right now, she’d kiss him again. She would do it over again if it meant sitting on his lap and being held by him in such a way that made her stomach twist and her lower abdomen throb and warm. He warned her not to come before him ever again, but she doubted she would heed his warning with such a beautiful feeling that made her feel like a woman for the first time in all of her eighteen years.
"It wouldn’t be so bad to have his baby. He is handsome and seemed to care about me when I was crying," she muttered with a smile as she hurried back to the room she shared with her twin.
