"Stop!"
"We- we're not demons!"
"We deserve to live!"
Pleas fell against Elise's cold and dark heart, as useless as skin was against demon claws. Seconds after they were made, their body fell against the cold marble floor, silent and lifeless.
"Just be quiet, ok."
Screams were already too loud in her mind.
Her mother screamed as her father's neck was sliced wide open, dousing her in blood. Elise screamed as her mother's stomach was ripped wide open, her guts spilling all over the floor.
And then it didn't even end there, because her sister was screaming while the demon's carnage continued, killing everyone in sight.
Elise continued walking through the mansion, killing every straggler in sight. Their screams did not drown out her family's at all. Instead, they amplified them.
This only strengthened Elise's resolve. Soon, everything would be quiet.
It didn't take long for the last few civilians to die. After all, it was a few bakers against someone who could kill by speaking a simple word. Hardly a fair fight.
With her task finished, Elise raised her hand like she had against the necromancer. It was time to give the demons their footsoldiers.
"Rise."
With a single command, thousands of the dead listened. Each soul she commanded to come back to life made her gem grow a little bit darker. Elise couldn't find a single desire to care.
At the same time the last undead rose, the barriers around the mansion instantly shattered.
The very foundations of the mansion roared in pain as the demons attacked it in droves, slamming themselves into its walls and windows with a murderer's fury.
Then a loud voice rang out through the sky telling them to stop–the bloodknight's.
He was the one who had contacted Elise telepathically the first night the barrier was erected. With just a single command, all of the demons listened to their commander. Just as soon as they allowed their bloodlust to take over they reigned it in.
Within seconds the bloodknight stood before Elise.
'Teleportation.' She thought, mentally adding the spell as something she wanted to learn.
During their telepathic conversations, she always wondered what he would look like. She had imagined a super demon-looking creature with red skin and horns.
Instead, he almost looked human. Except for the spiky, heavily clad black armor that probably had at least 3 layers of padding. A huge broadsword hung on its back, at least 10 feet in length. Its helmet completely hid its eyes, save for a foreboding white glow.
She could tell why a bloodknight could be seen as terror incarnate. If someone hadn't seen the things she'd seen and done the things she'd done, she knew she'd be terrified of such a character.
Now, she just took his existence as another piece of proof that the beauty of life was a lie.
"I see that you've done your part of the bargain. Do not worry, we will do the same. Demons may be malicious creatures, but we are also merciful and honest."
On the outside, Elise nodded at the demon's words. Internally, she fought back her growing disdain. They were not merciful nor honest.
And now, neither was she.
"Do whatever you want with them. Just let me and my sister be."

Elise stared into his helmet as she said this, hoping she was exuding some form of confidence even if she didn't feel it herself.
A soft chuckle escaped the demon's lips. "But that wasn't the deal."
Wasn't the—
The bloodknight flicked his hand, telekinetically sending Elise flying into the wall. His squires instantly began foaming at the mouth, hoping that they would be able to eat food soon.
Raising his hand, he said, "Easy. Go fetch me the young elf while I tell this abomination here about our new arrangement."
'Fetch the young elf?!
NO!!!'
Elise fought against his telekinetic hold. Shaking with pure vitriol, she fought with all of her strength to even raise an arm. Anything that would allow her to use this newfound magic and kill him.
But it was all for nothing.
If she could move, Elise knew she would do nothing but scream as she saw her sister come into view. Terra was being led by 2 squires.
On either side, they had pierced a sword straight through her shoulder and now held her up by their blade. Blood trickled down her dress as she struggled to breathe.
Even from such a distance, Elise could clearly hear the ragged breathing of a being near death. Was... was her crusade really going to end with this?!
Her sister was going to die anyway!?
"Hey. There's no need to resist this much. We promised that your sister would be safe as long as you comply."
The blood knight squeezed his hand into a fist, forcing Elise to gasp for air. "So, comply."
With that, the Bloodknight pulled his sword from its sheathe, a mighty 10-foot-long blade of obsidian. He carried it with the grace of a warrior who had spent millennia in combat.
Elise gasped as he swung it right for Terra's head.
It sliced through the air directly above her, right through the 2 squires that had brought Terra to the bloodknight. Their blood splattered all over Terra, painting her in a crimson red.
Elise wanted to cheer, to believe that he was really going to keep his side of the deal and let Terra go.
But then she noticed it.
Her sister...
Was changing.
Elise watched in horror as her little sister stood there, still and rigid. Bubbles popped all over her face, her own blood boiling under the surface. Even as Terra's tiny body began fighting itself, her boiling blood causing the skin above it to move in unnatural manners, she herself never seemed to acknowledge the pain.
"What- what are you doing to her?!" Elise forced her words through the pressure emitted by the bloodknight.
He simply shrugged before saying, "The demons required 2 things from the clown. The first is a queen. The second..."
Waving his right arm, he turned around in a circle as if addressing the entire room. "Is an army. That's where you come in. This city won't be empty for long. Especially not when your husks are going to be masquerading as civilians. Once the city becomes bustling with life again, you kill them. Over and over, until the day you finally die."
As he spoke, Terra's transformation was coming to a close.
Now, she was taller than Elise and even looked older. She still held the signature curved ears of an elf, but much of her body had changed to be more sharp and more threatening.
In a voice that was far too distorted and evil to be Terra's, the new Queen said, "If you don't, I'll kill myself."
