Staying in the room all alone felt so uncomfortable so Yang Meiyi decided to take a walk in the garden.

Her walk was peaceful and the fresh air did her good, that is until she met Song Yuyan.

Song Yuyan looked at her belly and asked "How far along are you?"

"I don’t see how that is your business." Yang Meiyi replied rudely.

Song Yuyan scoffed and said "I wondered what Fu Mingze saw in such a rude girl like you, you have no name or money, so how exactly do you plan to support this family? At least Ye Qingyi had the hospital."

"And for that, you are grateful that she isn’t married to Fu Mingze because if she was, your chances of taking the Fu group would be extremely slim, but it’s funny how you think you can still fight against my husband with me around."

Song Yuyan burst into laughter and said "You? Am I supposed to be afraid of a child? Just because you are pregnant, doesn’t mean that your child is now the successor of the Fu family. Song Yuyan walked closer to Yang Meiyi and was about to say something when she saw Fu Mingze coming their way, she immediately took a step back as she said "This isn’t over, I will make sure to show you your place."

"Even if I were to learn my place, it wouldn’t be from an unscrupulous woman like yourself." Yang Meiyi replied fearlessly.

"Meiyi." Fu Mingze called out worriedly when he saw a frown on Song Yuyan’s face, were they arguing?

Song Yuyan looked at Fu Mingze who was now standing beside Yang Meiyi and said "Your marriage with this woman won’t last, she has left you before and she will do it again."

"Since when are you so concerned about me Song Yuyan? Focus more on your son, he has now been given a big responsibility. Starting now, your son is now in charge of Fu Construction, a mistake could cost him. I trust you will remind him of that."

Song Yuyan looked at Fu Mingze in disbelief and immediately walked out to find her husband and foolish son.

"Did she bother you too much?" Fu Mingze asked after Song Yuyan left.

Yang Meiyi shook her head and said "No, I am already used to her making so much noise and empty threats."

Fu Mingze sighed and said, "I thought you would be waiting in the bedroom."

"I got bored and needed to stretch my feet." Yang Meiyi said making a cute pout.

"It’s only 8 pm, grandpa wants us to stay but we can leave if you aren’t comfortable." Fu Mingze said as he arranged her hair.

"I don’t mind staying but....."

"But what?"

"Before we call it a night, can we go get some ice cream and also a burger?"

Fu Mingze laughed at her strange request and held her hand as he said "Let’s go."

"Aah.... That hit the spot." Yang Meiyi said as she took the last bite of her burger and drank up the cold juice that was served to her.

Fu Mingze laughed softly and leaned forward to clean her mouth. "Do you still want the ice cream?"

"Not really, can we buy it tomorrow?" Yang Meiyi replied.

Fu Mingze smiled and said "As you wish, let’s go."

The restaurant wasn’t far from the Fu Mansion so they decided to walk, but as they walked, Fu Mingze took noticed of the way Yang Meiyi would yawn every two minutes.

He stopped to look at her and asked "Do you feel sleepy?"

Yang Meiyi nodded with a yawn.

Fu Mingze turned around and suddenly couched down as he said "Hop on my back."

"Really?" Yang Meiyi asked just to be sure her ears and her eyes weren’t playing tricks on her.

Fu Mingze chuckles and says, "Yes, now hop on."

Yang Meiyi smiles radiantly as she climbs onto his back and he stands up securing her with a gentle hold. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

Yang Meiyi kissed his neck and said "My Mingze is the best."

"Your Mingze is asking you to behave, no neck kisses." Fu Mingze said as he began to walk with her on his back. She is pregnant yet she still does not weigh much, could it be she isn’t eating enough?

Meiyi chuckles at his words and rests her hand on his shoulder as she replies "No promises."

Yang Meiyi closed her eyes as they shared a quiet moment but that moment was broken by Fu Mingze’s ringing tone which he decided to ignore.

Yang Meiyi opened her eyes when his phone rang again and said "Just answer it, we are already at the gate anyway."

Fu Mingze sighed and carefully put her down. He brought out his phone from his pocket and see that it was Bai Jian calling him.

"Hello." Fu Mingze said as he answered the call.

"Have you seen the news?"

Fu Mingze frowned when he heard the brokenness in his friend’s voice and said "No, I haven’t seen the news but what happened? Why do you sound like that?"

"They found her Mingze."

"They found who?"

"Heng Shuai, the police found her."

"But isn’t that good news, you have been searching for her for years and now she has been found."

"It was her bones that were found Mingze, all these years that I thought she left me, she was dead." Bai Jian said as he sobbed.

"That isn’t right, Heng Shuai can’t be dead. Where are you?"

"I’m at my apartment, can you please come over?" Bai Jian pleaded.

Fu Mingze looked at Yang Meiyi and said "Yes, I will be right there."

"Don’t worry about me and just go." Yang Meiyi said after Fu Mingze ended his call.

"I might not be back till tomorrow so take care of yourself and call me if you need me." Fu Mingze said and leaned forward to kiss her before calling a cab over and leaving.

Yang Meiyi was about to enter the gate of the Fu Mansion when she suddenly stopped and whispered to herself "Hold on! Did Fu Mingze say Heng Shuai, wasn’t that the name of Yang Jia’s friend who suddenly went missing years ago?"
