"I still can’t believe it was Hu Yifan who killed Huan Shuai, just thinking of the fact that I was in the same space with him gives me goosebumps." Yang Meiyi said, watching the news. She looked at the man who was sitting beside her but paying more attention to his laptop and cleared her throat loudly.

Fu Mingze stopped what he was doing and looked at her "Do you need water?"

"What I need is the attention of my husband. Lately, it’s as if you are married to Fu group and not to me."

"You are exaggerating. I’m sure I give you a lot of attention at night."

"Mingze." Yang Meiyi called out hitting him with the couch pillow.

Fu Mingze chuckled softly and said "I’m sorry for not paying attention. What was it you were saying?"

"I was talking about Hu Yifan, up till now I still get shocked that he was the one who killed Huan Shuai." Yang Meiyi said.

Fu Mingze sighed and said, " I have taken a look at Hu Yifan’s background and he is no saint but for some reason, I’m still not convinced that Hu Yifan was the one who killed Huan Shuai."

"You think it was someone else?"

"Apart from Yang Jia’s confession, there is no proof that Hu Yifan killed Huan Shuai and that was why the judge let him go. Do you believe that it was Hu Yifan who killed Huan Shuai?"

"I don’t know, I barely even knew the girl. I just saw her as one of Yang Jia’s followers, didn’t know she was even Bai Jian girl. Speaking of Bai Jian, how is he holding up?"

"He has blacklisted Hu Yifan from the industry, it’s safe to say that it will be impossible for Hu Yifan to find a job in this country."

"What do you mean by that? We have talked about this before and Hu Lihua was certainly the one who killed my mom."

"Calm down, I didn’t tell you this for you to get agitated." Fu Mingze said as he held her hands and rubbed softly.

"I know, I’m sorry. So, do you think it wasn’t Hu Lihua?"

"After that day I released Hu Yifan from the dungeon, he had sworn that he was going to get proof of his father’s innocence and it was that determination that made me reinvestigate Sang Xiu’s murder."

Fu Mingze’s eyes went to Yang Meiyi’s slight bump and he continued to rub her hands as he said "There are things that don’t add up. The police said that Hu Lihua was a cab driver who hit Aunt Sang Xiu on the way to pick up a client, he became scared of killing someone and drove away but that day was Hu Lihua’s day off. I checked the company he was working for and they confirmed that Hu Lihua didn’t have any clients that day, his whole story was a lie, plus the money his family received when he admitted to killing Aunt Sang Xiu, don’t you find that strange?"

"But...."

"Yang Meiyi, I found out that four months ago Hu Lihua had requested to see a member of Sang Xiu family and the only number the station had was Yang Jiu’s number. I do not know what he wanted to say but I no longer think it’s a coincidence for Hu Lihua to get poisoned just three days after seeing Yang Jiu. A man who has not caused any trouble and has been on good behavior since he entered jail was suddenly poisoned and now he is in a coma."

"But it can’t be Yang Jiu who killed her, he was with me on the day of my graduation."

"Yes but where was Yang Jia?" Fu Mingze asked.

"I...I don’t know." Yang Meiyi said as a realization came upon her, she looked at Fu Mingze and asked "Do you think it was Yang Jia?"

"I’m not sure, I do not have evidence but she has now become a suspect to me."

"Nie Yujie said that tonight, she was going to find out the secret that binds Gu Zhen and Yang Jia together. She has been trying for months but hasn’t gotten any luck but now she has a way."

"Tell me, what do you plan on doing if Yang Jia was the one who ran your mom over."

"Then I will make sure she pays for her crime, sending her to jail wouldn’t be enough. I will do whatever it takes to make her life a nightmare."

Fu Mingze nodded and leaned forward to kiss her forehead before pulling her into his arms.

Gu Zhen Apartment.

After finding out the reason Gu Zhen doesn’t drink more than three glasses at any event he goes to, Nie Yujie decided to use that reason to her advantage tonight. She needs to know what secret Gu Zhen has with Yang Jia, even after their marriage that woman still find ways to interfere with their life.

Gu Zhen was now her husband, shouldn’t that woman know by now that one shouldn’t get close to a married man. Gu Zhen has become an investor in her company but not to worry, she will fix everything once she finds out what secret those two are keeping.

Nie Yujie heard the door to the apartment open and immediately rushed to him with a smile and said "Welcome home."

Gu Zhen smiled and felt a warm feeling in his heart. It made him realize that marrying Nie Yujie was the best decision he had ever made in his life.

"Go get changed and let’s eat. Today, I made your favorite, so you must eat it all."

Gu Zhen laughed softly and leaned in to kiss her briefly before saying "I will be right back."

Nie Yujie watched as he climbed the stairs to go to his room to change and kind of felt guilty for what she was about to do but it was too late to back out now.

After Gu Zhen came back downstairs, he went to the dining table and smiled when he saw a wine, "What are we celebrating? Are you perhaps....." Gu Zhen looked at her flat belly without completing his statement.

Nie Yujie noticed his gaze and immediately became flustered as she said "No, it’s not what you are thinking. I just wanted you to loosen up a bit. Now that your grandfather is retiring, you have been so busy so I decided to just treat you tonight."

Gu Zhen smiled and asked, "Does that mean I’m getting dessert too?"

"Dessert? I didn’t prepare a cake or ice cream."

Gu Zhen finally laughed loudly and said "You are so clueless, I wasn’t talking about cake or ice cream."

Nie Yujie frowned as she asked, "You weren’t, then what....." Her eyes widened in realization as her cheek became red, she glared at Gu Zhen and said "I can’t believe you have such a dirty mind."

"Well, you were able to understand what I was saying, so that means your mind isn’t clean either." Gu Zhen said as he continued laughing.

Nie Yujie pouted her lips and said "Let’s just eat."

"Ok, but you know I can’t drink too much, I get drunk easily."

"That’s alright and besides you shouldn’t be scared to get drunk, your wife is here to take care of you anyway."

Gu Zhen smiled and nodded. It felt good to have a wife, if he knew he was going to be this happy one day then he wouldn’t have gotten involved in a lot of things but it doesn’t matter now, protecting Nie Yujie has become his number one priority.

After eating, both Gu Zhen and Nie Yujie drank the wine. She had made sure that the wine had a high alcohol percentage and after four glasses Gu Zhen was already drunk.

Nie Yujie who hardly drank in the pretense of wanting to take care of him, behaved as if she was drunk as well and said "You know, I don’t understand why you can’t just cut off Yang Jia from our life. You even went ahead to become an investor in Yang Corporation despite my protest. Do you love her that much?"

Gu Zhen felt dizzy but he could hear every word Nie Yujie said and replied "I don’t love her, I just pity her. Yang Jia looks strong and bold but she is just lonely and I thought I could be the one to fill that loneliness but I couldn’t. After that day, I felt as if she wasn’t my Yang Jia anymore. Though my Yang Jia acted cold, the real truth is that, she was warm on the inside and no matter how angry she was, she would never have done that to someone."

"What did she do?" Nie Yujie asked cautiously.

Gu Zhen shook his head and said "Forget it, let’s just go to sleep."

Nie Yujie held his hand and asked "Do you not trust me?"

"I do."

"Then tell me, what did Yang Jia do?"

Gu Zhen sighed and said, "She ran over someone."

Nie Yujie widened her eyes in surprise and asked "Who did she run over?"
