Nie Yujie looked at a sleeping Gu Zhen and muttered to herself "I can’t believe you were keeping such a big secret for Yang Jia, you must have loved her a lot."

She kissed his forehead and went out of his room.

With her phone in her hand Nie Yujie contemplated if she should call Yang Meiyi or not, she shook her head and said to herself "No, I shouldn’t call her yet maybe I will tell her tomorrow instead."

With that decided, Nie Yujie went back to the bedroom and lay beside her husband.

"What are you doing here? Didn’t I say that you aren’t allowed to come back until you have proven your father’s innocence, leave this place at once." A woman in her fifties said with tears as she pushed her son away.

Hu Yifan wiped the tears in his eyes and said "I came back because I have finally found a way to prove his innocence. I finally have evidence that Dad did nothing wrong, he is going to come back to us, Mom." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

The woman walked closer to her son whom she recently pushed away as she asked "Really? Have you found a way to bring your father home?"

Hu Yifan nodded, more tears left his eyes as he said "With the help of Mr Fu, I finally found evidence that Dad didn’t do anything wrong."

The woman’s legs suddenly became weak as she fell on the floor and began weeping.

Hu Yifan hugged his mother and cried along with her. He had watched as his family fell apart after the arrest of his father and inorder to make his father confess, he even had to lie that his mother was dead but yet his father still refused to say that he had made a false confession.

His mother broke down after hearing of the arrest of his father and no matter what they did, he could not get bail so he decided to dedicate his life to proving that his father was innocent and now he finally had proof.

Once his dad wakes up from his coma, his family will be reunited.

Gu Zhen apartment.

"Are you awake?" Nie Yujie asked as she opened her eyes and saw a cold pair of eyes staring at her.

"What happened, why are you looking at me like that?" Nie Yujie asked, feeling uncomfortable with Gu Zhen’s gaze.

"What did I tell you yesterday?" Gu Zhen finally asked.

"Nothing, you told me nothing. You only drank and went to sleep.

"Really?"

"Yes."

"Did you make me drink on purpose?" Gu Zhen asked as he narrowed his eyes at the woman who wouldn’t look him in the eyes.

"Why would I do that?"

Gu Zhen finally sighed as he said "You aren’t a good liar Nie Yujie. Did Yang Meiyi ask you to find out the secret that Yang Jia and I share? And don’t lie to me."

Nie Yujie sat upright and said "Yang Meiyi wasn’t the only reason I did this, I was curious about what keep you tied to Yang Jia, but even after finding out the truth, I still don’t understand. She is such a terrible person but yet you just can’t seem to give up on her."

"She wasn’t always like that."

"But still, even if she wasn’t like that before, she is a bad person now."

"I can’t judge her Nie Yujie, I’m not perfect either. Yang Jia swore to me that it was a mistake."

"And you believed her? She killed someone and for two years she has never done anything for Yang Meiyi to show her guilt and yet you truly believe that she killed Sang Xiu by mistake. You may be a bad person but it doesn’t matter to me because my love for you will never change. I want you to be happy Gu Zhen, but that can’t happen with Yang Jia breathing down your neck."

Gu Zhen let out a bitter smile as he asked "Do you think I deserve happiness?"

Nie Yujie nodded without any hesitation and said "You deserve to be happy Gu Zhen. You no longer need to try so hard because to me, you are more than enough and you will always be enough for me. I love you."

Gu Zhen looked at the woman he was only engaged to because he wanted to use her family name and now, in these past months, apart from them getting married he could say their relationship has grown in other ways to the extent he can now give a reply to her confession.

He leaned forward to kiss her and whispered "I love you Nie Yujie."

Nie Yujie widened her eyes as she asked "You do? Do you love me?"

Gu Zhen smiled at her reaction and said "I do love you. I will cut off my ties with Yang Jia and the Yang corporation and I will learn to be happy, but only with you by my side."

Nie Yujie nodded in excitement and hugged him tightly.

Yang Corporation.

"Miss Yang, there is someone here to see you."

Yang Jia looked up from her documents and asked "Who?"

"Mr Gu."

Yang Jia’s eyes brightened as she said "Send him in."

She immediately opened her phone camera and rubbed her lipgloss, she was in the process of arranging her hair when there was a knock on the door.

Yang Jia quickly dropped her phone and opened the first two buttons of her shirt before saying "Come in."

Gu Zhen walked in with a confident aura and sat opposite her.

"I wasn’t expecting you, are you here about the new project Yang Corporation will be embarking on?" Yang Jia asked sweetly.

"No. Over the months, Yang Corporation has gotten more investors, enough to keep the company afloat for a long time. One could say, the scandal of Yang Jiu no longer exists, meaning Yang corporation will have no issue in gaining more investors as long as they focus on the right project."

"Yes, that is true but I don’t understand why all these are important?"

"I’m pulling out as an investor of Yang Corporation." Gu Zhen said coldly.

"What do you mean by that? Why? Has Yang Corporation not brought you enough income?"

"Money isn’t the issue Yang Jia and you know it. The truth is I no longer want anything to do with you or this company. Starting from now, I truly want us to go our separate ways."

Yang Jia could see the seriousness in his eyes and she knew he was serious, after today he truly wanted nothing to do with her. Her eyes became glassy as she asked "Did I do something wrong?"

"No, you didn’t. I just want to try and be happy and I can’t do that if I still have any form of relationship with you."

Yang Jia scoffed as she asked, "Are you abandoning me right now?"

Gu Zhen stared at Yang Jia quietly, he saw the tear that slipped out of her eyes and while still maintaining his coldness he replied "Yes."
