Chapter 179: Twins.

"I don’t understand what you mean by this?" Fu Mingze said, looking at the result Tao Hui had just given to him.

"Even I am confused, if she is Yang Meiyi then where is my daughter, where is Tao Luqi? And how is Yang Meiyi also my daughter?" Tao Hui asked frustrated. He had taken a DNA test of Yang Meiyi as well and was surprise when it came out positive.

"Calm down Tao Hui."

"How do you expect me to calm down? I don’t know where my Luqi is and over the years I didn’t even realize that I had another daughter. Mother told me, that Sang Xiu didn’t want the child that Sang Xiu had begged her to take the child away, and that she never wanted to see me or our child and that is exactly what I did. I took Tao Luqi and left the country and for years, I never came back. I changed my identity and everything about me so that I may never cross paths with Sang Xiu, not even by mistake."

"So that’s why Yang Meiyi could never find you, you changed your identity. But apart from that, I know the kind of woman and mother Sang Xiu was and there is no way she would have abandoned any child of hers." Fu Mingze defended.

"Hold on! Did you just say was?" Tao Hui asked with a terrified look on his face.

Realizing what he had said, Fu Mingze sighed and said "Sang Xiu died in a car accident when Yang Meiyi was twenty one years old. She was a lovely mother, who was ready to do anything for her daughter, and not once did she ever give a hint that she had a child apart from Yang Meiyi. Maybe, it was your mother who has lied to you."

"Is Sang Xiu dead?" Tao Hui asked. He wanted to confirm one more time if he was hearing the wrong thing or not.

Fu Mingze nodded and said "I’m sorry for your loss. Even though the both of you weren’t together for years, I can still see that you never got over her."

Tao Hui placed a hand on his chest and tried to take in a deep breath, "Where was she buried? I would like to see her."

Fu Mingze was silent for a while before calling out the address of where Sang Xiu was buried.

"If you loved her that much then why did you separate?" Fu Mingze couldn’t help but ask.

"I wasn’t always rich, Fu Mingze and at that time, Old Master Sang wanted someone rich for his daughter. He was always so against us but I was ready to fight for us. It was just a shame that Sang Xiu didn’t feel we were worth fighting up."

"She ended things with you."

"And told me she aborted our child. When she said that to me, I thought it was a joke and then I became confused and angry and that anger turned to hate. I hated her for taking a child that I would have given all my love to and that is how we parted ways. Last, I heard is that she was getting married to a rich dude."

"So you never knew she had the child?" Fu Mingze asked with a frown.

Tao Hui shook his head and said "Eight months later, my mom came to my apartment with a child, she was so tiny, and seeing her immediately melted my heart. I asked my mother where she got the child and she said it was my child. My mother told me that Sang Xiu never aborted the child because the doctor had told her that it might affect her womb but since it was my child she didn’t want it. My mother told me that Sang Xiu handed the baby to her and said she didn’t want to see the child and she would kill it if she saw the baby again."

"Did you believe that, did you believe that Sang Xiu would do that?"

"I didn’t know what to believe anymore, I just wanted that baby and I became scared that the Sang could take her away from me, after all, they had the power to. So I took her and left the country and for years, I never returned and wouldn’t have returned if not for Tao Luqi who ran away."

"If you hadn’t returned then you wouldn’t have met your other daughter and her existence alone should prove to you that maybe your mother wasn’t telling the truth. However, I can form my theory of what may have happened."

Tao Hui scoffed and said, "Then go ahead, form your theory."

"I think seeing her son miserable after losing the love of his life and his unborn child made your mother act recklessly. She must have found out that Sang Xiu didn’t abort the child as she as said and must have been monitoring the day, Sang Xiu was going to give birth. After giving birth to twins, your mother must have stolen one but if her child was stolen then there is no way the Sang’s would have kept quiet about it so I think she must have replaced the child with a stillborn and then gave your daughter to you. She must have seen nothing wrong with it because, in her mind, she did everything for the happiness of her child." Fu Mingze calmly said.

"That’s quite the theory." Tao Hui said.

"He is right." A voice said behind them.

Tao Hui turned to see his sister and asked "You are here? I thought you had already left."

"How can I leave when my niece is in the hospital?" Tao Xiangxi asked with a frown but her frown changed to a smile when she looked at Fu Mingze and said "I’m Xiangxi, Tao Luqi and Yang Meiyi’s aunt, and wow, you look so much better in person."

"Xiangxi, behave yourself." Tao Hui warned.

Xiangxi shrugged and said, "I’m just appreciating beauty, don’t be so worked up."

"You said I’m right, didn’t you?" Fu Mingze asked, cutting the sibling’s clash.

"What do you mean by he is right?" Tao Hui asked angrily.

"It means that everything he said about Mother doing what she did was on point and you would have known this years ago if you had decided to spend her last moment with her, instead of at a business meeting."
