Transmigration: Giving The Second Male Lead All The Love I Have.-Chapter 45: For A Moment She Thought Her Daughter Was Planning To Get Married Secretly.
"The doctor said you can get discharged tomorrow."
"Finally." Yang Meiyi said with a sigh of relief.
"Your mom thinks you should come live with her."
"But what about us? I want to live with you and what about our marriage or have you changed your mind?"
"Of course not, I haven’t changed my mind but are you sure you don’t want your mother to know?"
Yang Meiyi shook her head and said "She will never agree. Instead, she will tell me to wait till I graduate before thinking of marriage, the woman has even banned me from driving."
Fu Mingze smiled and said, "I agree with her on that."
Yang Meiyi rolled her eyes and suddenly sat upright as she asked "What about the truck driver, is he alright?"
Fu Mingze frowned and said "The police didn’t find anyone in the truck, they traced who the truck belonged to and were able to find the original owner, he said his truck was stolen a week before your accident. The police checked their records and he indeed registered his car as stolen. You said you suddenly felt dizzy when you started driving?"
Yang Meiyi nodded and said "I knew I was going to drive so I only drank a glass of champagne and then drank an orange juice for the rest of the party but a few minutes after I started driving I suddenly felt dizzy and my vision became blurry. And also, the brakes in my car stopped working which is strange because it was fine when I drove to the party."
Fu Mingze sighed and said, "Someone at the party probably spiked your drink and I highly doubt that truck hitting your car to be an accident. Who served you the orange juice?"
"It was.....I can’t remember." Yang Meiyi said, how did she forgot who served the juice.
"It’s alright, don’t stress yourself to remember anything. I will find out what happened at Zhang Chun’s birthday party, ok?"
"Ok." Yang Meiyi replied and pressed her head to his chest.
...
The next day, Yang Meiyi left the hospital with her mother, and rather than going to the Yang mansion she was surprised when they went to the Sang mansion instead. She looked at her mother and asked: "Are we going to be staying with grandpa?"
Sang Xiu nodded as she opened the door for Meiyi and said "Staying with your grandpa will help you to recover faster and your grandpa misses you very much so the both of you can have some bonding time."
Yang Meiyi sighed sadly, does that mean she is going to spend the remaining two weeks of her holiday with this strict man?
As they entered the Sang mansion, Sang Xiu looked at her daughter and said "Your grandpa is upstairs, go greet him, I will assist the maids in making lunch."
Yang Meiyi nodded and went upstairs, she knocked gently on her grandfather’s room and heard him telling her to come in, she opened the door and saw her grandpa lying on the bed. Meiyi immediately went to him and asked "Are you still not feeling better Grandpa?"
Grandpa Sang smiled softly and said, "You don’t have to worry about anything, grandpa still has a long time to live."
Yang Meiyi laughed softly and said, "Of course, after all my grandpa is the strongest man in the world."
"I’m glad you are better now Meiyi, I’m sorry I couldn’t visit you much in the hospital, and although I don’t always show it but I do love you"
"I know grandpa and I love you very much as well." Yang Meiyi said as she hugged the old man for a few seconds before giving him time to rest.
Yang Meiyi went to her room after visiting her grandfather and bought out her phone when she saw a message from Fu Mingze.
[Do you have your passport with you?]
Realizing why he was asking that question made Yang Meiyi a little nervous as she typed [It’s with my mom.]
[Find a way to collect it and meet me at Spring Park tomorrow by 9 am.]
Yang Meiyi smiled as she typed [Ok.]
After lunch, Yang Meiyi met her mother when she was taking care of the dishes and said "Mom, did you bring my passport with you?"
"Of course I did, why?" Sang Xiu asked.
"I need it urgently. Can you give it to me tonight?" Yang Meiyi asked as she helped her mother in drying and storing the dishes in their rightful place.
Sang Xiu stopped what she was doing and narrowed her eyes at her daughter "Again I asked, why?"
"A fashion competition is coming up and I need my passport to apply for it. Tomorrow is the deadline, if I hadn’t been in the hospital for so long then I would have applied a long time ago. I really can’t miss this opportunity, mom." Yang Meiyi said pleadingly.
Sang Xiu sighed after hearing her explanation, for a moment she thought her daughter was planning to get married secretly. She continued washing the dishes and said "Fine I will give it to you but what is the name of the competition so that I can go and support you."
"No Mom, I can’t tell you the name."
"Why?" Sang Xiu asked suspiciously.
Seeing the suspicious look on her mother’s face, Yang Meiyi smiled sweetly and said "I will feel too embarrassed to face either you or Grandpa if I lose. I’m already applying so late, the chance of me winning is low but at least I will be able to have some experience when I apply again next year."
Sang Xiu nodded her head in understanding and said "Don’t stress yourself too much, you know you just came back from the hospital. And you said it yourself, you are just doing this for experience so don’t feel sad if you end up not winning."
Yang Meiyi suddenly hugged her mother and said "Thank you, mom. You are the best."
Sang Xiu laughed and said, "My daughter is also the best."
Hearing that brought a little guilt in her heart, she wondered if she should just tell her mother the truth but she knew that her mother would never allow her to marry Fu Mingze tomorrow if she knew they were planning on secretly getting married. Knowing her mother, she would want her to complete her studies before marrying, but she can’t wait that long, she wants Fu Mingze to become hers, to be her husband and she definitely can’t wait for three more years before that happens and the thought of that reduced her guilt.
That night, Yang Meiyi barely slept because of her nervousness, she kept looking at the passport her mother had given her earlier and the thought of what tomorrow held for both her and Fu Mingze made it impossible for the smile on her face to disappear and as she held the blue pendant that Fu Mingze had given her, she closed her eyes thinking of their lives together and finally fell asleep.
