Chapter 263: Chapter 263; Lu Yuze 15

She pulled the door open and walked out with Chen Xiao, closing it behind them.

In the hallway, they immediately encountered Ah Ling and Ah Ying returning from wherever they’d been.

The two glanced at the study door, clearly intending to go in.

"Daddy’s busy in there," Yuyan warned cheerfully. "I don’t think it’s the right time to interrupt. And if you don’t listen, it’s not my problem when you get punished."

With that casual warning, she continued toward the dining room with Chen Xiao in tow.

Ah Ling and Ah Ying exchanged a glance, then wisely turned and followed the children instead.

Back in the study room, Lu Yuze moved swiftly.

His hand reached for the controls, switching off the camera and muting the audio feed. The meeting participants were still visible on his screens, frozen in various states of carefully maintained professional neutrality, but they could no longer see or hear anything from his end.

Though they’d already seen Shuyin’s face.

They’d seen her walk in. Seen her settle onto his lap with familiar intimacy. Seen the way she’d begun unbuttoning her top.

But who would dare speak of it? Who would dare comment on what they’d witnessed in Lu Yuze’s private study, in his own home, with his own wife?

But wait, wife? When did he get married?

And that to his nephew’s ex-fiance?

If something of this sort got out, it would be them definitely since no one knows so far!

The screens remained active on his side, a reminder that the meeting was paused, not ended, but for now, they were effectively alone.

Lu Yuze’s attention returned fully to the woman in his lap.

"Now, where were we?" he murmured, his voice low and deliberate as he gently nibbled her ear, his lips trailing down her neck to her collarbone with agonizing slowness.

"Where do you think we were?" she whispered back, her hands moving over his chest, feeling the warmth of his skin through the thin fabric of his shirt. But even as she touched him, she already knew, he wasn’t going to give her what she wanted.

Fine. If he wouldn’t give it to her, then she would give him blue balls every single time until he learned his lesson.

"My dear husband..." she said sweetly, her tone so honeyed that anyone foolish enough would believe she was truly in love with him.

"Yes... what’s the matter?" he asked, and with his teeth, he carefully worked open the first button of her top. He was teasing her, and she was teasing him, a game of push and pull, waiting to see who would break first.

"You know... I want you," she whispered, her fingers gently pinching his waist in reprimand.

"I know," he replied, a slight smile curving his lips as he kissed the exposed skin at her cleavage, moving lower as he freed the second button with deliberate precision.

"Hooligan!"

In an instant, she used her magic to fly out of his arms, lifting herself into the air and out of his reach.

Lu Yuze looked up at her, his lips curved in unmistakable amusement. "Honey... what happened?"

Shuyin hovered near the ceiling, her eyes narrowed at him even as she felt a surge of satisfaction. She was glad, so glad, that she’d already exposed her true identity to him and didn’t need to hide her magic anymore.

"What happened?" she repeated, crossing her arms as she floated there. "You know exactly what happened, Lu Yuze."

"Do I?" He leaned back in his chair, completely unruffled by the fact that his wife was currently defying gravity above him. "I was simply showing my wife some affection."

"Affection," she scoffed. "You were teasing me. Again."

"Was I?" His expression was the picture of innocence, but his eyes gleamed with that same maddening satisfaction. "I thought I was being quite generous."

"Generous," she repeated flatly, still hovering out of reach. "You call that generous?"

"I do." He stood slowly, looking up at her with that infuriatingly calm expression. "I could have stopped much sooner."

She wanted to throw something at him. Or kiss him. Possibly both.

Instead, she remained where she was, suspended in the air, refusing to give him the satisfaction of coming back down.

"The children are waiting," she reminded him pointedly.

"They are," he agreed, still looking up at her with that small, private smile. "Are you planning to float to the dining room, or will you be joining us on the ground?"

"I haven’t decided yet."

"Take your time." He moved toward the door, completely unperturbed. "I’ll let them know you’ll be along shortly."

"Lu Yuze..."

He paused at the doorway, glancing back at her. "Yes, my dear wife?"

She glared at him from her position near the ceiling, but he just smiled, that same enigmatic, knowing smile...

Shuyin remained floating for a moment longer, processing what had just happened.

He’d teased her. Again. Deliberately brought her to the edge and then... stopped. And he’d looked entirely too pleased with himself about it.

Maddening.

Absolutely, completely maddening.

Slowly, she lowered herself back to the ground, her feet touching the floor with barely a sound. She took a moment to compose herself, refastening the buttons he’d undone with his teeth, the nerve of him, and smoothing her hair.

Her body was still thrumming with unfulfilled desire, and she knew he knew it. That had been the entire point.

He reached for the door handle, clearly intending to leave and join the children.

But before he could turn it, Shuyin’s hand shot out, slamming the door closed with a decisive thud.

Lu Yuze paused, his hand still on the handle, and turned to look at her.

In one smooth motion, she closed the distance between them and pinned him against the door, her hands braced on either side of his shoulders, effectively trapping him. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

"Where do you think you’re going?" she asked, her voice low and dangerous.

"To dinner," he replied calmly, though she could see the flicker of interest in his eyes. "The children are waiting."
