Transmigration To Magus World-Chapter 28: Hitting the Dog
To find Valentino, Aizen had to return to Black Cloud Peak, to the Harmony Courtyard. π³π«ππ²π ππ―ππ¨πππΉ.π°πΌπΊ
Valentino did not reside in Demon Mountain City, as the city was territory designated to Leo by the left faction.
The Harmony Courtyard and the surrounding vast area of Black Cloud Peak were territories allocated to Valentino, making him the one in charge there, a small leader appointed by the left faction.
The division of territories always involved disputes over resources.
After all, the western courtyard of the Heavenly Demon Clan wasnβt solely dominated by the left faction. The rival right faction also held significant power, and besides these two, there were other minor factions as well, but weβll set those aside for now.
Within the Heavenly Demon Clan, fierce factional conflicts were common, and within each faction, there was even more intense internal competition.
The rivalry between Valentino and Leo wasnβt just due to clashes in battle but also because both were currently appointed representatives of the left faction among the black-clothed disciples.
They were both outstanding, young, and ambitious.
Naturally, this led to competition and friction.
A faction wouldnβt keep anyone useless around, and there had to be competition between two representatives.
The one who contributed more resources and gained more benefits for the faction each month would secure their position and receive greater rewards.
Both Valentino and Leo wanted to outshine each other.
However, Valentino was consistently suppressed by Leo.
Leo, being based in the resource-rich and populous Demon Mountain City, often had the upper hand. Moreover, his skills in making profitable deals earned him more success, making him stronger than Valentino.
This didnβt mean Valentino was incompetent. The discerning members of the left faction knew this, so they didnβt remove him from his position.
Still, the pressure on Valentino was immense, and he was the person who most desired Leoβs death.
Aizen understood Leoβs mindset, which was why he decisively killed Leo. It wasnβt just to avoid sitting and waiting for death but also a necessary step for his future plans.
Previously, Aizen had chosen to endure and not kill Valentino, not only because he lacked a surefire move to eliminate him but also because killing Valentino would have left him facing the pressure from Leo.
Would he then have to kill Leo too? What would he do after that?
Killing two left faction representatives in the black-clothed disciple region in a row, even if Aizen was stronger than both, would be a grave matter. The left factionβs pride was more important than his strength.
He wouldnβt have time to seek protection from another faction before someone from the left faction came to kill him.
Even an inner clan disciple wouldnβt dare recklessly kill a faction-appointed representative. Even if the person was as insignificant as a worm, everyone understood that you had to respect the owner when hitting a dog.
However, if it was a dogfight, no matter how fiercely the dogs bit each other, it was their business, unrelated to the people around.
Aizenβs current plan was to provoke Valentino, this dog, into barking and taking the heat himself.
To Lilith, this seemed a bit unbelievable at first. But after some thought, she realized the logic without Aizen needing to explain further. Sometimes, women werenβt as clueless as they seemed.
They entered the courtyard, where two black-clothed disciples at the entrance bowed to Lilith. Before they could straighten up, Aizen and Lilith knocked them out.
Anyone else visiting the Harmony Courtyard would have had to notify Valentino first, but Lilith never waited.
She also didnβt believe in standing outside, waiting for Valentino to summon her. She never saw Valentino as superior to her.
The last time Aizen came to the Harmony Courtyard, he had put on a humble and respectful demeanor.
But this time, he wasnβt going to act that way.
This time, he intended to make Valentino humble instead.
When Aizen decided to do something, he made sure he held the upper hand.
Valentino came out laughing to greet Lilith, just as he had last time.
He prepared to say some nauseatingly flattering words, but this time, he never got the chance.
Before he could open his mouth, Lilith had already made her move.
A flurry of silver light flashed. Lilith unleashed her full strength, sending out three flying lines of willow leaf darts, each connected in a deadly burst.
She didnβt target Valentino but rather his two sidekicks who always accompanied him, as well as the black-clothed disciple responsible for announcing his visitors.
The two sidekicks were Valentinoβs trusted aides, named Guts and Jerry.
Both had nicknames: one was called "Black Wind Palm," and the other "Azure Hand Imprint."
These two were to Valentino what the nine demonic followers were to Leo, though each of them was more formidable than any one of those nine.
Last time, the two had suffered minor losses to Lilith but had still managed to hold their own together.
This time, however, they couldnβt defend themselves at all.
They were completely unprepared and took a vicious attack head-on.
No one expected Lilith to strike immediately and so mercilessly. The black-clothed disciple responsible for announcements was killed instantly, not even managing a groan.
Valentino was startled, swallowing back the prepared words he had organized in his mind. His face flushed red, and his hand instinctively reached for the sword at his waist.
But despite his speed, Aizen was even faster.
Valentinoβs expression hardenedβwas Aizen planning to rebel?
The clang of metal rang out as his sword was drawn halfway from the scabbard, its gleam like a spring of crystal-clear water, threatening and intense.
But at that moment, the ground trembled violently, with dust and debris flying everywhere, as if the entire courtyard had collapsed under Aizenβs footstep.
Like a bolt of lightning, Aizen had already closed the distance, standing nose to nose with Valentino.
The speed was terrifyingly fast!
Valentinoβs pupils contracted, and his heart nearly stopped.
He knew Aizen was strongβhe had heard about him forcing Red Lady to retreat just days agoβbut he never expected Aizenβs power to have become so overwhelming, far beyond what he had shown in their past encounters.
"Agh!"
Sensing imminent death, Valentino drew his sword, his face twisted in desperation as he roared.
But by then, a surge of fierce internal energy erupted from Aizen. His long black hair whipped around like serpents, and his eyes shone with a piercing, dazzling light.
The air seemed to compress around him from the force of his sudden outburst.
In that moment, he struck with his iron swordβa simple, direct attack!
The blade bent into a shocking arc from the sheer force.
One strike, carrying the momentum of thunder and the explosive energy of a volcano, shattered Valentinoβs confidence and courage.
It was too fast, too sudden!
Valentino barely managed to raise his sword in front of him before Aizenβs thunderous blow smashed into it, sending shockwaves through his chest.
Clang!
Valentinoβs sword flew from his hand, his palms splitting open, and his chest felt as if something hard had shattered within.
Blood spurted out uncontrollably as he was flung back like a rag doll.
To make someone obedient, you had to first instill fear!
Against someone like Valentino, Aizen had no intention of negotiating before showing force.
