Transmigration To Magus World-Chapter 51: New Feature Unlocked
The bright moon shone between the pine trees, and clear springs flowed over the stones. The shadows of the trees swayed gently under the cold, hanging autumn moon. Between the cracks of the rocky mountain walls, the spring water trickled softly. Near the mountain peak, beside a mountain path, stood a small bamboo grove, and nestled within it was a pavilion named Solarium.
Solarium used to be Krul’s residence, and stepping inside, one could still catch a faint trace of her feminine presence. However, Aizen had now taken over this place by force. The dead hold no value. What remains valuable are the possessions they leave behind—though even feelings of remembrance are fleeting. But Aizen had no sentiment for Krul.
Sitting alone in the quiet bamboo grove, Aizen sipped his wine by the window. As he raised his glass to the moon, his thoughts drifted away from the drink and into the system in his mind. After killing Krul, he had coerced a disciple into leading him to this pavilion. Though Krul was dead, she likely had treasures hidden here beyond what she carried on her person.
So far, Aizen hasn’t found anything of significant value. However, there was no need to rush. Everything here belonged to him now, and if there were treasures to be uncovered, no one would be able to take them from him. Instead, his attention turned to the system rewards he had earned, especially the new feature unlocked after obtaining the "Demonic Path Disciple" title.
By completing the mountain challenge, Aizen had been rewarded with 10,000 points of mission Wisdom value and was granted permission to choose a specific item from a medium-level Wisdom treasure chest. Both rewards were incredibly valuable. Even more significant than these rewards, though, was the activation of the new system feature: the Wisdom Shop.
Aizen was no stranger to the concept of the Wisdom Shop. Back when he played games, he often used Wisdom points to exchange for rare items in the shop. In the current system, 1,000 Wisdom points equaled 100 Wisdom coins. At the moment, the Wisdom Shop had a treasure sword for sale, priced at 200 Wisdom coins, which was equivalent to 2,000 Wisdom points.
The treasure Blade, named Curtana, was as sharp as steel-cutting mud and was on par with the renowned Dragon Tongue Blade. It was a top-tier rate-seven sword. Aizen was tempted, but 2,000 Wisdom points were no small amount. He decided to hold off for now. He glanced at the time for the next refresh of rare items in the Wisdom Shop, which was at midnight.
This refresh time didn’t surprise Aizen. From his past gaming experience, he knew that items in shops like this were never fixed and refreshed at specific times: 6 AM, noon, 6 PM, and midnight. Currently, there were only five items in the shop, with the most expensive being a secret manual—the Golden Snake Manual.
Aizen could only look at the Golden Snake Manual with longing.
It was priced at a staggering 2,000 Wisdom coins, equivalent to 20,000 Wisdom points. The high price was understandable, though.
The Golden Snake Manual was created by the Golden Snake Lord, Edward. It was a comprehensive Sorcery arts legacy derived from the instincts of serpents, containing techniques for movement, hidden weapons, swordsmanship, fist techniques, and inner cultivation.
If paired with the Golden Snake Spike and the Golden Snake Sword, two treasures of the Five Poison Clan, the manual’s techniques would become even more powerful. The system rated this complete legacy as a fifth-tier manual. The Golden Snake Sword Technique alone was ranked as a third-tier sword technique, while the Golden Snake Spike Technique was rated fifth-tier. The movement, inner cultivation, and fist techniques were only sixth- to seventh-tier, so the overall rating of the legacy was fifth-tier.
Aizen dearly wished to acquire the Golden Snake Sword Technique. Unfortunately, he couldn’t exchange for just part of the manual; it had to be acquired as a whole. Maybe he would get lucky and draw the sword technique from a treasure chest someday, just as he had previously obtained the Golden Snake Capture Crane Fist. Consoling himself, Aizen decided not to dwell on it.
He had always admired the character Edward. Ruthless and cunning, Edward would stop at nothing to achieve his goals, embodying the ways of the demonic path. The only thing Aizen despised about him was his weakness for Emily, a woman he loved deeply, which ultimately led to his downfall. To Aizen, it was a waste for someone with the heart of a conqueror to be defeated by love.
Aizen respected Edward in many ways but looked down on him for his emotional vulnerability. Still, he acknowledged that emotions were a powerful force. Even heroes and conquerors couldn’t always resist when love came for them.
He turned his attention to the other three items in the shop:
A bottle of grade-four Vitality Pills, priced at 100 Wisdom coins.A Essence Minor Rejuvenation Pill, priced at 200 Wisdom coins.A seventh-tier fist technique manual, priced at 150 Wisdom coins.
The prices were a bit inflated, so Aizen wasn’t planning to redeem anything yet. The Wisdom Shop could be further unlocked. Currently, only five items appeared per refresh, but he could unlock a sixth slot by spending 200 Wisdom coins. For now, though, he had no intention of unlocking it. If he was already hesitating to spend 2,000 Wisdom points on the Curtana sword, spending extra coins to unlock a new slot was out of the question.
Pouring himself another cup of wine, Aizen took a small sip, his thoughts drifting to the 11,200 Wisdom points he had accumulated. Before the mountain challenge, he had 400 unused points, and after successfully completing it, he had earned 10,000 more. This victory had elevated him to the status of an outer Clan disciple, and his title, "Demonic Path Cannon Fodder," had upgraded to "Demonic Path Disciple."
The title upgrade came with more than just a fancy name. It also brought useful attributes. The promotion had also rewarded him with 800 additional wisdom points. The title now had practical effects, unlike his previous title.
"Demonic Path Disciple (Ninth-Tier Title):
Grants a 5% increase in cultivation speed for demonic path techniques and a 5% increase in the power of demonic techniques.
Attached attribute: ’Demonic Path Villain, Despised by All!’"
The attributes were quite beneficial, although the attached attribute was somewhat of a double-edged sword. Aizen understood this attachment. With his current low-tier title, most people, whether from the righteous path or demonic path, wouldn’t hesitate to target him. However, if his title were upgraded to "Demonic Path Elite," the "despised by all" part would likely disappear. No one would mess with a demonic elite unless they had a death wish. A demonic elite, after all, was at least an inner disciple of a major demonic Clan like the Heaven Demon Clan.
Even a pig wouldn’t pick a fight with a demonic elite, let alone a regular person—though, of course, righteous cultivators were always an exception.
Aizen calculated his wisdom points. He decided to keep 8,200 points in reserve and used 3,000 points to exchange for six medium-level Wisdom treasure chests.
