Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer-Chapter 738 - 329: The Blooming Celestial Flower
At the Celestial Flower, located at the very center of the Island, there were many Priests and various Church members busily working. The Great Gardener, leader of the entire land of spirits, was preparing with the Priests nearby. Apart from these individuals, one other person was present, seeming somewhat out of place. It was Simon, sitting in a corner and adjusting some sort of mechanical construct.
After adjusting the construct before him, Simon turned his head to look at a girl in priestly robes standing by his side.
"I'm going to start now. Is that okay?"
"It's fine, My Lord. You may proceed at any time."
Simon nodded, closed his eyes, and then opened them again slightly. His eyes burst with a blue glow, intensely focused, which did not diffuse outward. His eye sockets and pupils transformed, taking on a structure similar to machinery. The Treasure on the index finger of his Hand of Precision also flickered with an intensely concentrated blue light.
He raised his Hand of Precision, inserting the entire arm into the slot of the device before him. His left mechanical arm lifted, and he placed it on top of the mechanical structure. The floating platform carrying Ling and Shi slowly rose. The mechanical platform then fixed itself to the top of the entire mechanical structure, connecting them. Magic patterns appeared on the bottom of the floating platform. Shi sat on it, drowsy, while Ling remained beside her, maintaining a protective stance.
The entire mechanical construct began to emit the sound of whirring gears. Blue light emanated from crevices in the structure. This indeed attracted many gazes, but no one came to disturb him.
Soldiers patrolled various locations. The metallic objects they held began to flicker and tremble slightly.
"Captain, this thing is moving!"
Hearing this, the squad captain turned and saw the mechanical construct in a soldier's hands trembling slightly.
"Quick, inject some Magic Power into it!"
The soldier nodded and promptly infused a bit of Magic Power.
As the Magic Power was infused, faint patterns appeared on the surface of the mechanical construct. Some of these patterns connected, forming a Spell, and the mechanical construct instantly vanished in a burst of light.
"Did it disappear?" the captain asked.
"No, it's still in my hand, but it's invisible now," replied the soldier holding the mechanical device.
"It's... it's moving! It's flying up!" the soldier exclaimed as the weight in his hands vanished.
A buzzing sound filled the air around them. The invisible construct transformed into a Sentinel Flying Device and soared into the sky. Buzzing sounds arose from all directions as countless Sentinel Flying Devices ascended simultaneously.
「At the same time.」
The Puppet Knight Order, divided into six groups, was stationed at six nodal points throughout the city. If their nodes were connected, they would form a hexagram. Their positions were not random; they were hidden in various concealed corners. Below each of them was a cylindrical stone pillar about two meters high. On the surface, it appeared to be made of stone, but internally, it was a complex mechanical structure.
At that same moment, the mechanical structure began to shift and rotate. Seeing this change, the Puppet Girl captain immediately took out a blue Crystal Pillar Stone, similar in size to her own body, which was strapped to her back. She inserted it into a slot that had appeared on the construct. Afterward, these Puppet Girls began to stand guard in the vicinity.
「Time flew by.」
Alka and the others had dispersed to various locations, fully prepared, and were silently waiting for a potential enemy.
An entire day quickly passed. However, the residents and tourists, who had gradually begun to stroll the streets, did not depart as night fell. Instead, they grew even more excited. The number of people at night far exceeded that of the daytime.
Alka stood below the giant sacrificial platform that had been erected, looking up at the starry canopy of the night sky. Tonight, the sky seemed to have undergone yet another change. Although it was different every day, today felt particularly interesting. Some stars in the sky were visibly moving and beginning to arrange themselves into combinations, as if gathering above their heads.
"This scene feels so familiar," Chadite couldn't help but remark, looking at the changes in the sky.
Julia also found herself nodding. The changes on that particular day had been so intense they had nearly been frightened to death.
"Really? Why don't I feel it?" Alka asked, watching the sky's changes without any sense of familiarity.
Upon hearing this, those beside him glanced at him but said nothing more.
It seems this is related to me, huh? Alka thought.
Moreover, seeing that the gazes from the people around him weren't very friendly, Alka decided it would be best to keep his mouth shut and not say more.
Let me think carefully... Alka mused. The only time matching this scene would be when we had just escaped the Broken Island Chain, and I consumed a fragment of the Divine in a Dream Realm. According to what Chadite and the others described, the changes in the sky back then should be similar to what's happening now. So, pretty much the same...
So, as expected, whenever something is related to the Divine, the starry canopy changes.
Realizing this, Alka committed it to memory.
As true night descended, it was vastly different from previous ones. The stamens of every flower were in full bloom, emitting light like lamps in the night. The immense radiance from countless giant, conservatory-like flowers across the Island instantly illuminated it, making it as bright as day.
