Twin Reincarnation: Epics Of The Worldline-Chapter 314 As the night approached…
[OP: ]
[Furious and confused at the loss of all the life vessels, the lich- enraged- lost its cool and went berserk.]
-Ooooooooooooong!
In the past, this creature used to be the grand master of the kingdom, the master of magic and a person beloved by all the citizens of their country.
-Boooooooooooom!
He was caring, loving, kind, and generous to all those who asked for his help. Sometimes, he even sacrificed his own assets and put his life on the line for the people that the throne had the duty to look after.
He was kind and loyal... even when everything fell apart, when the greedy aimed for the treasures and lands left behind by the descendants of the great conqueror, he stayed true to his calling.
-Boooooooooooooom!
He protected, looked after the ones who were suffering at the hands of the ones who did not deserve what they had at the time, and when the last piece of land that the throne had to protect ascended into the sky... he remained with the last group of loyalists, and followed his duty.
[ "A: C-slash, right, left, left, crescent moon." ]
He was ready to give his all in this land, in this last fortress as well.
He did not have anything left in that world anyway.
[The one he had cherished the most had become one of the threats he had to face himself. The people that he had to protect, found salvation in the shade of new rulers who promised a better world. While the country he had sworn to protect, had already been shattered into pieces.]
Looking back, his last few thousand years weren’t anything fun or interesting. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
-Ooooooooooooooong!
When the grand ritual concluded and the Mage lord, the second in command of the nation, one who had been prepared the longest in their world, turned them into solder of eternity that would remain present until the new rulers, the legitimate successors of the thrones arrived here, he had believed he would spend eternity doing what he had dedicated his entire existence for.
He wanted to protect this last inheritance of the true throne with all that he possessed, with every fibre of his being... he knew it would not be easy, but he still wanted it.
{ "However, his wishes were betrayed when the fallen fortress present high up in the sky turned into an actual artificial dungeon, and he- the one loyal to the throne and the People- was assigned a place separate from anyone else." }
The Core of an artificial dungeon.
[His role in this dungeon was an important one. Not one he had ever wished for, but an important one that was assigned to him alone.]
For an artificial dungeon to truly parish, one must destroy the core of that dungeon And defeat the final boss that was like the tread binding every element of the dungeon.
It was necessary that one defeated the core as not doing that would result in the sustenance of the dungeon even after the final boss is defeated and the dungeon would automatically regress back to its finest state.
[The last hurdle is always difficult to deal with, the challengers fighting him right now understood it very well. And, night was also approaching...]
El was commanding them, their No.2 was aiding her, the others in charge of support were also doing whatever they can to follow Her instructions well so that they could decrease the damages to a good enough degree.
And still...
-Booooooooooom!
The ones fighting the berserk elderlich who was throwing around grand magic like it was nothing to them, a kind of magic that had already destroyed most that was present in this lab where he had spent last thousands of years of his life... were all wounded from head to toe, bleeding with their clothes stained with dried blood.
They were fighting the thing, attacking it with the strongest spells they had, using all that was available to them... they were doing what was required to defeat the creature, and still... they were not fine at all.
[Master of four major elements, Master of intelligence, Seer of truth, Possessor of divinity, Master of Spellcrafting, and the past successor of a Magus... no mortal should have been able to defeat such a creature even with the most powerful weapons of their world.]
Especially at night, when the powers of this creature would get another boost of the darkness.
But, thankfully, the weapons they possessed were neither of this world nor simple enough to be anything less than what Mainstream uses.
{ "Under the guidance of an heavenly voice, they moved as a single body, attacked the invincible enemy with weapons covered in the power of holy and divine, powers that they had had been granted by beings of eternity, and threw spell made of true runes at the creature that had only a single life left within him." }
Destroying the life vessels should have been enough to kill any kind of normal lich, however, this one was different from those normal creatures.
While confined in this small world that it expanded beyond its limited with the space expansion magic, it created a lab where it explored the truths of its life.
[Starting from the structure of the dungeon, it researched the fabric of the magic that his master, the great Magus of the ancient times, had left for them.]
He gained strength through the knowledge, and with the abundance of energy that the dungeon produced, the byproduct that no one else in this dungeon used, he continued gaining new strengths.]
It learned about the dungeons, the world, and when it Awakened, it also learned about the system and explored the new possibilities that had opened before him.
{ "It was an intelligent creature that would have continued getting stronger if these brave challengers had not arrived in this place." }
They were strong. But he was stronger...
-Oooooooooooooooooooooong!
There was a great difference in their strengths, but he was alone.
He had been alone.
{[ "Aghhhhhhhhhhh...!" ]}
He was the core of this dungeon and this confined place was his sanctuary, as well as the prison that he was confined to.
There was only one way for him to get out of this place, and that was to pass on the position of the dungeon core to something or someone else that can handle it, and something that was acknowledged by the system.
Additionally, the new elements that the dungeon core status was being passed on to, had to be something that the system could acknowledge as the subordinate of the previous dungeon core.
Without the set conditions being fulfilled, he could not get out of this damned dungeon and was destined to live alone.
{ "Maybe if the things had been different, if he was able to get out of this damned place, he could have done something more than he was currently capable of." }
He wanted to meet the others that he had once shared his life with, the ones that were confined in this very place just like him.
-Boooooooooooooooooom!
He was the only one that still had his complete intelligence even after becoming a complete undead.
-Ooooooooooooooooooong!
He was different from the attractive undead that lingered between the boundaries of dead, alive, and undead. He was an immortal that had his intelligence, which had progressed beyond the limits of his moratak self.
[He cherished the way he was right now. His only regret was his limitations.]
He had gained unexpected strengths while being in this dungeon, in this confined space that belonged only to him.
{ "He was like a bird trapped in a cage." }
He had wings but he could not use them.
He wanted to go out and explore the world, rebuild the world and bring back the glory of the throne that he had cherished, find the successors of the conqueror in order to fulfill his last obligation and ascend this world.
[He wanted to finish what he had signed up for. Even if he had to use all that he had in order to defeat the enemies that had proven to be more difficult to deal with than he initially anticipated.]
{ "His opponents were not that strong, but, they weren’t alone like him either." }
Under the guidance of their Black, they moved throughout the room and attacked the creatures from multiple angles.
Their Bishop had fallen with Mana exhaustion and was unable to move anymore and, there was a threat to his life as the Mana in his body was not stable anymore.
There was a certain threat to the life or Master T as well as he was the only person that was single handedly blocking the attacks of the lich.
He was protecting their No.6, the eyes of this entire battle who was perhaps the only reason they were still surviving until now.
The rest of them were in no condition to go on for another long battle but, they had to finish this.
-Boooooooooooom!
They were near anyway.
The creature did not have any defenses left anymore, there was a deep wound on him made by the insect like creature that their Queen had summoned, however, due to Mana limitations, she could not maintain the summons for too long.
-Oooooooooooooooong!
She was exhausted and she had given her all, so she was resting along with their King, who had alredy lost an arm to the creature.
He was hit by a powerful wind attribute spell and his arm was laying beside him.
He could reattach it, but for that, he had to stop moving and focus on the process.
And he was doing exactly that... however, before working on his own arm, he was helping their No.9 who had just been attacked with a very powerful spell.
[ "Master..." ]
They were falling, but the end was near...
[The brave who defeated all the challenges that hindered their progress on this path, the ones who had reached a point no challenger had ever even imagined, the ones who managed to drive a creature to the brink of death... the great warriors of new age, seemed to be on the verge of defeat.]
The creature was still too strong. Their teamwork could not keep up with their own limitations.
All of them were on the verge of falling apart along with the creature that was still gathering all the energy it had to at least kill off the writers of an epic... people who were doing something that the creature, the Elderlich, had always wanted to do.
[ "I have to use it, master." ]
They would have died in this battle along with the lich who would have self destructed at the end of this battle, and would have returned one day under the laws of the dungeon.
[ "You have my permission." ]
But, Friday did not want that.
[ "Thank you, master..." ]
He wanted more time with these people, with His team.
-Oooooooooooooooooong!
An end by a strong Lich bastard, was not something he desired for these people.
