Chapter 316: 316 The Grand Ghost General

[Lucy’s POV: ]

"Ah, look at you. A complete mess."

His hand was detached as he lay on the ground, covered in blood, holding the spare arm that was almost falling apart... a dumb smile still present on his face.

"How are you feeling?"

"I... knew you’d come..."

-Ooooooooooooooooong!

"Ah I never left, so I didn’t come to rescue you all or anything.

You won. You passed. You did it... you earned this."

With a little of Cary’s powers, my magic and some strong potions, which were very costly apparently, I healed my bastards.

"You alright there, Miss Monica?"

"Yes!"

And somehow my bitches were fine so I didn’t have to pay a lot of attention to them.

A little healing and some potions did the job.

"Go check up on Gwen after that little one is alright."

"Yes~."

Gwen dear wasn’t mentioned throughout the epic much, but she did a lot of things for her group, even during this last battle.

’Dumb bitch was trying to find a way to get out of this place so that all of them could survive the lich since she had already diagnosed it was too strong for them to handle.’

She was finding any way to get out of that place, if that was one that is. And by the end, she seemed to have succeeded as well, but in the process, not only all of her bots had died, she herself was injured severely.

"You all are dumb!"

"Hahahaha..."

"Hehehe..."

"You shouldn’t have put us up to this then, haha."

I was shouting at them while they were laughing right at my face... these bastards.

"Haaa... you did well. Give yourself a pat on your backs. You survived fate."

It was perfect. Everything went well. The epic somehow did not end even after that perfect ending performance because of some fucking jerk doing something shitty somewhere faraway from here that apparently changed the ’course’ of this world.

Which is funny, but absurd at the same time since now the end that the epic would get would be even more interesting than the death of the lich by the hands of a celestial.

The entire area that looked like a fine room not long ago was a complete mess now, covered in blood and there were even parts of their inside mixed in the mess, covered in the rubble of the fallen room.

Their Apothecary did a good job treating them with medicine and the surgical techniques that I taught him, while the greedy old bastard did well healing them with the Holy magic.

"You overdid yourself, hun?"

He was dying on the floor even now, his entire body covered in blue veins that were a clear sign of Mana exhaustion.

[{ "Cary." }]

[{ Yes yes stupid master. I know. I have eyes so I can see as well. }]

He would have died in a few minutes if he was left like that. And I know after suffering the same fate many times that it was some of the most painful deaths in the Worldline.

-Ooooooooooooooong!

Thankfully, we had a being that could control Mana like it was an extension of its own body.

"You did well as well. No rest, you fucking oldass."

He handled the Divinity that we channelled through the holy sword since he was the only one who fit all the requirements to do it.

’Bastard handled divinity in that old ass human body of his.’

For which, he certainly deserved as much praise as I was giving him.

"You should step down from the position of a captain, you know? You are practically useless."

"I would do it if you want me to. It’s not like I signed up for that position or anything."

"Hmmm..."

My ace of Clubs is a cheeky bastard.

"Nah. You should suffer more. This much isn’t enough to open your eyes."

"I will learn as much as I can."

The white rouge as people called him was also a high position politician that a lot of people in this world knew about.

He cannot deal with the future enemies with the attitude he has right now.

"Bastard."

But it wasn’t as bad as it was before this dungeon run, so, this much was still good.

"Now."

They did great and they needed recovery now that things had ended for them.

"Get better, eat these things, and recover. We will leave at fifteen."

They had good enough time to recover and treat themselves and since they did not have to fight anymore, they could just sit back and watch us do our things.

[ "Lucy." ]

[ "Yes?" ]

We weren’t in the spectator mode anymore and were present with them, in this destroyed room, with Lucy still stuck with the steam things.

’He was doing much better than I had expected... damn bastard.’

I wanted his stream to end up as something good and unique so that we can have a better rank completion for this epic, but instead of just good, he ended up becoming a sensational superstar.

[ "When will you be done with that thing?" ]

[ "Five minutes. I’m almost done so just give me five minutes and we’ll be done." ]

[ "Finish it in three." ]

There were practically countless viewers watching him right now, perhaps in some of the smaller planets, this whole thing was being broadcast worldwide.

People were commenting nonstop, the donations were flooding in, and since the quality of this entire thing was the best there could be in the entire Worldline, the paying viewers could practically experience what all of the characters of the stream were experiencing at the moment.

’He was doing too good right now, which isn’t good!’

Why was he doing so well when my little babies were suffering!

Especially when he doesn’t want to give me what he was going to get from all that revenue!

He was a bastard that didn’t deserve all that attention. The tax free money was also a bad thing!

’He was practically getting a hundred times of what he was spending every second... and then he was going to invest it all into something stupid.’

What does money even matter if you cannot use it? What does it even mean if I cannot use it for something that would help the two of us anyway?

’We are going to get a big sum soon from the bastards of this world anyway.’

And I’m not going to give this bastard of mine even a single Oz when I get my hands on that sum.

[ "Phew. I’m finally done." ]

[ "Good." ]

-Dhum!

A punch in his chest for making me wait more than what time I had allowed him.

-Bam!

And one in his stomach for being a jerk throughout this entire thing.

[ "I did not deserve the second one." ]

[ "Oh you sure did, bastard." ]

I get that he had to stream and speak and write and manage and do a shiiiiiiit lot of stuff, but we were in the spectator mode and he did not make a Single move on me.

This bastard.

Dumb fucking bastard!

He was unbelievable!

[ "Now show me what we have got until now." ]

He was managing the status windows mostly, while I was doing the search and research on the higher beings watching us right now.

’This was a genuine dungeon even though it was an artificial one. There were many things present here that could be dangerous for one but there was only one thing that concerned us here.’

And that was to the interference of the higher beings in any point of the journey.

We were spending a good sum of money just to stop the minority that were obsessed with us for doing so well, while the majority was enjoying this and wanted to make it even more enjoyable by adding something of their own.

Their collective authority wasn’t something that could be countered with our own limited authority but it was manageable after spending some money.

’Raz was very helpful in matters like this one.’

If we had enough to spend, he could practically make us immune to attacks of the different bunch that wanted to hinder the entire thing in different ways.

But his services were costly even after negotiations and personal discounts.

’Thankfully, Lucy was doing well with that stream of his.’

And from how much we were getting these higher being bastards, everything was more than just manageable.

We were earning, and ultimately, from how much attention we have got until now, it was possible that we might just get a final epic of (Bronze) grade or above.

’It isn’t going to get a Gold rating, but there is a teeny tiny possibility of that happening,’

Though, it’s very little. So much so that it’s close to impossible so, I shouldn’t hope for something like that.

But still, bronze and silver... they might just be possible.

"Alright. Let’s move."

[The heroes who defeated the core of the dungeon, the ancient Elderlich, the master of magic and overcomer of death, finally after their rest and recovery, with a new passion in their hearts, along with the protectors who had looked after them throughout their journey, the angles that cared for them and were the reason for their success until this point, took their brave steps towards the final hurdle of this journey.]

The door that was covered by a black thing up until their fight was over was now open so all of us went out, walked for a few hours and, reached the biggest doors of this dungeon, the gates of the central area where the last protractor of this world resided.

"This is it..."

There were no creatures in our path this time so reaching here was pretty easy, and since no one was tired, we did not wait for anything else.

-Krrrrrrr...

{ "To think someone would defeat all four of them, as well as the core before coming here." }

This place was vast and perhaps three times bigger than the place we have seen until now.

And, there was only one thing here.

One creature.

{ "We had anticipated this day..." }

A ghost.

Or a Great Wall would be a better name for this creature.

[The great ghost general of Avatika, a descendant of the conqueror, the divine being of high status... they stood before their final hurdle, a being that was beyond the bounds of this world, a being that possessed enough achievement to be a celestial, a knight... that had accepted its fate of eternal Wait.]

{ "We didn’t think it would come this early." }

-Dhrrrrrrr.

What they were going to face now was no simple creature but...

{ "That’s right." }

Thankfully, they didn’t have to fight this one.
