Chapter 317: 317 Successors of the conqueror

[Lucy’s POV: ]

The great creature was as big as mountains, as ferocious looking as the demons of deepest parts of the hell, possessed an aura so dense it felt like it was something that can destroy even the toughest castles of this world with merely its breath and, it was looking down at all of us.

{ "As the last knight of the Conquerer and one that holds the oath of protection, I cannot let you pass this place. Though, as someone who has managed to defeat all the enemies in their paths, I admire your strength." }

The creature wa strong and big, and since it was a ghost, a astral body, there were no physical attacks that were going to work against it.

It wasn’t even like the common ghost that we have faced until now.

{ "I’ll give you a chance to walk out on your own." }

He was using Mana speech, there was a sword handing on his back, an astral weapon that, just like him, was not physical.

’But, it was still something that dealt physical attacks, and was something so dangerous that anyone that would face it would have to put their lives on the line just to avoid an attack from that weapon.

It was a powerful weapon and, the ghost holding it, a creature that possessed a kind of strength that just his words were enough to make our entire bodies shake with its pure force... it would have not been a simple task to deal with this one.

{ "As the knight of the Red Sword, I will let anyone who gives up on advancing further leave this place with a worthy reward.

However, as someone who had managed to slaughter my colleagues..." }

This entire place was as big as a field and he was a field boss that would require an army, not a few elites but quite literally an army of highly trained knights that knows how to deal with giant mosnter.

The thing before us also was something that covered everything in its range with multiple layers of debuffs and there were even things about it that were impossible to deal with, like its divinity.

’It was a creature so the Worldline rules were allied differently to it, and it was also an awakened being so, it knew exactly everything that was going on and was too same form even our perspective.’

It was the worst kind of undead that could be born in any kind of filed, and as a dungeon boss of the most powerful dungeon of this world, it also held exclusive privileges.

But, above everything else, he was a being of nature and a true knight.

-Krrrrrrrr...

He drew a line on the ground with his pure willpower.

He did not use Mana or Aura or any kind of power to do that, just his will was powerful enough to materialise into something that he wanted.

’This special will, this power to do things with merely one’s willpower was something that only a swordsman that had crossed the boundaries of a Grandmaster could achieve.’

He was already a swordsman walking on the path of true enlightenment, someone that was much better than the current me.

And I accept that.

We certainly were no match for this creature. Even with the combined power of El and me, and the rest present with us, there was no way we could dearest this one with our current strength.

{ "If you want to challenge me and cross that line, just remember... I will not hold back in any manner." }

[The gallant knight of ancient times was a ghost, and still he had not forgotten the dignity of a knight.]

He challenged us and gave us a chance to walk away at this moment, to just leave this place in the state we were in along with a kind of reward that would be unlike anything the previous challengers had ever received.

’It was a kind offer. We would have been able to do what we were here for along with getting the reward for passing the dungeon.’

But we weren’t doing that.

The current Us had no need to.

{ "I think you are mistaken, mister knight." }

El spoke up with her own Mana voice and looked up at the intimidating figure of the creature fearlessly.

{ "We aren’t someone you should fight against." }

[One of their protractors, the One in White clothing that made her look more angelic than many other angelic beings of the lower heavens, and spoke up against the knight general fearlessly.]

She crossed the line, and alongside her, I did as well while the rest of them, as she had signalled, stayed behind.

{ "We aren’t your enemies." }

She took out the (Ring of power) that I got after clearing the Shrine of Chiragya, and put the unique ring on her finger... an artifact that the enraged ghost who could not understand what kind of bullshit she was spouting, recognised instantly.

{ "How do you...?" }

He knew what that ring was, and there was only one person in this world that was allowed to possess it.

{ "Knight of Red Sword, protector of Throne and Sword Saint of the fallen metropolis, Francis Alexandria Kristen." }

I called him out by his true name, a name that no one in this world was supposed to know, a name that he himself might have forgotten about...

I was standing right beside her, a silver blue key that he must have recognized as the (Key of succession) in my hand, and seeing this was more than enough.

{ "Ah..." }

{ "What are you doing?" }

{ "Right. Apologies." }

-Skrrrrrr...

[The great ghost general that had never once fallen after becoming an undead, a knight that had protected the throne and its successors throughout the eons and beyond, the sole entity that had managed to fend off even the absolute powers of this world...]

He took out his sword and in a dramatic manner and though it surprised the people- her babies standing right behind us- when he placed that sword into the ground instead of swinging it directly at us, they knew it wasn’t trying to hurt us.

[The divinity that lingered between the life and death, and was bound to this world by its oath of origin, the strongest and most fearsome foe anyone in this world could face, a being of power, authority, chivalry, and pride that had not fallen once in thousands of years... knelt.]

With his head down, his armour-covered body knelt before us, and his red astral sword shining with a pulsing light, the knight gave his greetings.

{ "I greet the successors of true throne, successors of the original crown, successors of the first master, the chosen ones, the overcomers of hardship, the new masters of His legacy..." }

The entire air, along with the rest of the castle, shook a red light flowed out into the ground and covered the entire area they were in, along with the fortress, the walls, and the rest of the island...

[It was an unbelievable Spectacle...]

This was the end, both of us can feel the voice of the world that was reciting the epic until now getting lower and lower with each sentence it spoke.

[The knight that had fended off all enemies until now, was greeting the guardians of the challengers of the dungeon as the new masters.]

The epic was ending for certain now, and though it wasn’t a dramatic ending where the ’celestial’ stood over a dying lich that was ultimately pitiful, this mysterious ending was not so bad either.

{ "Apologies for being foolish enough to not recognise you, and welcome." }

[It was an undead, a ghost even and still... it greeted them with a kind of warm voice that only someone with a beating heart could make.]

If he had eyes he would be crying, if he could show emotion he would show them without restraint, if he had any fragment of his humanity left, he would be joyous and happy like he used to be in the past.

Alas...

{ "We have been waiting." }

[The undead that was considered the strongest power of this world... had submitted itself to someone else... to someone that the challenger- overcomers of this dungeon- followed willingly... and the result of this happening was going to cause many changes in the following times...]

He was an undead. A very strong one, everyone knows that much already.

But he was still, as only we understood completely, an undead.

There was a future ahead of him that could have been filled with all the colours known to our kind, but, since he was an undead, he won’t be able to do so as much as the rest of them.

’He would still be a creature to the system, and he would have to live with it.’

And this fact saddened me every time I thought about it.

[They were satisfied by the results, however... for them... this was just the start.]

He deserved much more than what the rest of them would get, he was a fun person in my memories but here, he was only an undead that had limited emotions and judgement.

’He was a sword saint so it would have been fun having him around as his complete self, but, as he was right now...’

[They were only beginning to move towards their ultimate goal...]

He was only going to be a good multipurpose tool.

[Which, sooner or later, they were- undoubtedly- going to achieve.]

With the last lines being deeper and more distant from one another, the voice of the epic completely faded away.

And, every single one of the people who were connected to the Worldline system in this world as well as around a few other worlds around this one, got a certain bunch of messages.

[Ding!]

All of us inside here got them as well, and her ’babies’ were stunned to actually read what was present before them.
