Twin Reincarnation: Epics Of The Worldline-Chapter 341 [Break notice]
[OP: ]
There was a kind of area made in the centre of this vast floor that had only windows on all sides of it.
The floor looked more solid and durable than the wooden floor they had downstairs.
There was no one else in here aside from the two shadowy figures and the way they were looking at the two of them reminded them of their rare but seriously angry moments.
"He looks cool."
"And she looks ferocious."
The system’s instructions on this test that were revealed to them were pretty simple.
They had to fight the opponents before them, which meant Lucy had to fight El’s doppelgängeron the left and she would have to fight his doppelgängeron the right.
The restrictions the two of them had were going to remain the same while the opponents before them were a complete copy of themselves that possessed the same set of skills and abilities that they had, with unique abilities being the exception.
They possessed their complete powers, had original stats of their bodies and instead of restrictions, they had additional powers of their own as an <SS> rank perfect doppelganger.
However, the creatures were going to be limited to the two of their abilities.
"Should we start together then?"
"Obviously. But I’m going first."
"Of course you are."
The opponents before them, the shadow-like creatures displaying a near perfect replication of the two of them, were smart creatures that were programmed to be the two of them in all possible ways.
The headmaster himself had selected and cultivated these two like he had once done in one of the runs during their game times so they were familiar with this concept of fighting their own complete version while having handicaps.
This thing itself wasn’t that new to them but... they weren’t sure about how they should go against these creatures to get a ’perfect’ result as they usually do.
They might die, they knew that.
They knew just how strong they were and they knew the difference between themselves and these creatures before them was too great that their current selves would be one sidedly fucked over by the opponents.
They were strong beings with stronger stats and more options available to them so the two of them would at least have to accept the fact that the opponent might possess all the techniques and abilities that the two of them had ever used in their lifetime.
They would also have to consider the fact that as doppelgängers, the opponents would learn any new things that they would use and insanely.
They might only have one chance of using anything new if there was anything new left, and if the opponents possessed the same level of tactical abilities, the same kinds of intelligence, and the same kind of Skill, they knew for a fact that killing these creatures was a near impossible task.
They themselves were too strong for this world and they knew that already so, this battle, was one thing that they could not predict the outcome of.
"Then, here goes nothing..."
But that very fact made this whole situation more exhilarating for them than anything else they had ever experienced.
He used three more energy packets of {Origin} to boost his physical abilities, leaving only the last 15 of them for further use.
The sun wasn’t present in this unique illusion space so there was no way for him to charge these energy pockets and even if the sun was out, it took an entire day for all 36 of the energy packets to recharge.
So, he knew there were only a few chances left for him.
-Swish!
And also that he had to be very careful with every single move from this point on.
-Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong...!
When he moved inside the arena-like area in the centre, the enemy also made her move by conjuring a few magic shields, a lot of magic circles all around the area, and physical weapons created with various elemental powers.
[ "Well, fuck." ]
This was unexpected.
But, it was also exactly something that she would do.
-Oooooooong!
-Boooooooooooooom!
There was no way he was going to block that kind of attacks so, with most of his physical enhancements focused on the agility and stamina, he masterfully dodged every single spell that was shot at him, including the spells that were made to target him.
-Swiiiiiiiiiiiish!
He used the power of his flame elemental Mana on some other elemental spells she was using and with his excellent control, he redirected her own spell in her direction that she ultimately had to counter against the other spells.
-Oooooooooooooong!
The creature was a perfect clone of hers so even the stats they possessed were the same.
Which meant even though she could use that kind of spells with such mastery, she had limited Mana.
And that meant she wasn’t going to be able to use all these spells for much longer.
And, since they did not have any of the artifacts that they had in their storages, the creature could also not recover their Mana as fast as they could have.
And that balanced things out perfectly.
They knew there would be some kind of a way to kill these things and even though the chances were only closer to nothing, and not nothing itself, they were going to do what they had to and damage these things as much as they could.
-Booooooooooooom!
However, it was not going to be that easy and they knew it as soon as El also stepped into her own arena and the doppelgänger of her beloved brother slashed at her with a very dark and muddy kind of Aura.
-Zaaaaaaaaaaa!
And though as powerful as Lucy’s perfect Aura, this wasn’t anything like what he possessed.
-Oooooooooooooooong!
Aura was one of the things that one could not copy even if they were an offspring of the Worldline.
Everyone had their own unique Aura that one could only manifest as an energy by achieving the right level of mental strength and through a subconscious awakening.
-Boooooooooooooom!
It was a difficult task and that was the very reason there weren’t many people that walked the path of a weapon in the greater parts of the Worldline.
There wasn’t much to it, but the power of Aura, the raw power that it possessed that could even destroy an entire planet if used in the right manner was something that only a small number of people could achieve.
-Ooooooooooooong!
Even El herself who possessed better combat powers than most other weapon users, had a deep understanding of the weapons she used and was connected with the youngest swordmaster of this world, did not possess the power of Aura so, it just showd just how unique of a power it was.
-Booooooooooooooom!
Though, it did not matter if she possessed that power or not.
[ "You’re strong, bastard." ]
[ "You are as well." ]
Her opponent possessed it and could use it as well as he could.
And, since she herself could not use her Mana or weapons, she had no choice but to use the borrowed power of her artifacts and Spirits in the other world to protect herself from the relentless attacks of the creature before her.
-Swish! Swish! Swish!
One was a master of magical spells, a creature that could use magic like that of a Spellmaster and since the creature could also use all six elements like her, dealing with her was difficult for him.
On the other hand...
The one she was facing was in fact stronger than the swordmaster of the original that it had taken the form of.
-Booooooooooooom...!
Lucy at least had the support of his weapon while his stats were sealed. He could use his own abilities to deal with the spells and magic of the one before him.
She on the other hand was not as proficient with the weapons as he was.
-Tang! Tang! Tang!
Yes she was good with swords but that was only thanks to her skill that made it much easier to control both of the swords.
Here, she did not have any skill while at the same time she also could not use magic in any way.
Her mana was restricted to a certain extent as well, but thanks to the stats she still had, she was able to hold her own against a creature of that kind.
[ "I think I’m going to..." ]
[ "We both are." ]
The opponent was the strongest thing they had faced in this new life of theirs.
They were unreasonably strong.
It was also a fact that the ones they were fighting were the same individuals that they saw every single day, the same people that they had been with for the longest.
They knew how strong they were and they knew how much stronger the other one was.
They had already known each other well for them to know the other never used all the strength they had during their sparring sessions.
-Booooooooooom!
But these creatures had no relation to them and only existed to defeat their opponents. And on top of that, they weren’t even playing around with the two of them like the two of them would usually do with their opponents.
There was no reason for these creatures to hold back in this fight, they didn’t even have any desire to play with them since they didn’t have the same ’will’ and the two of them.
[ "What now?" ]
[ "I don’t know..." ]
They were no match for these creatures... for their perfect selves.
The difference in power was as large as a normal human being and the two of them with their complete powers.
[ "Well... I’ll see you soon then." ]
The way the doppelgänger of Lucy used sword was ruthless and since there was no restrictions on Mana or magic, he freely used a kind was magic that completely focused on the destruction and death of the opponent before him.
And just like him... the doppelgänger of El used physical weapons made and refined with spells that were created with her creation skills.
It was a sight to behold how she created countless weapons in the air for the one that was observing this fight however, for the one fighting this... this was less than like despair.
-Boooooooooooooom!
[You have died.]
They weren’t strong enough to defeat themselves, but, they were glad to at least the extent of each other’s powers that they otherwise might not have ever witnessed.
And for that at the very least... there was a smile on their faces when their bodies turned to particles of light, and vanished from this endless room.
