Chapter 325: Chapter 325: Discharged from the Hospital

"It’s not that exaggerated. After all, we’re old acquaintances. We should give each other some trust, right?" Rosalie Quinn spoke softly, fearing that Seraphina Sinclair might slap her.

In this matter, she indeed felt guilty. Initially, she just hoped Seraphina could forget Desmond Fairchild and start a new relationship, without considering too much.

Back then, she believed that in terms of family background, looks, and all aspects, Keith Hughes was not inferior to Desmond Fairchild. A man like him being with Seraphina was not a loss.

"Okay, it was my mistake this time. Can you forgive me? I really did it for your own good." Rosalie acknowledged her fault and quietly asked for Seraphina’s forgiveness without daring to argue any further.

Seraphina Sinclair understood Rosalie’s intentions and couldn’t really blame her.

For so many years, Rosalie had always thought of her and worked tirelessly for her benefit, so she had to appreciate and remember this gesture of hers.

"Let’s forget about it this time. In the future, if anything like this happens, you must tell me immediately. Understood?" Seraphina was indeed unhappy about being kept in the dark like a fool. She assumed that Keith Hughes only had a usual classmate feeling towards her, not expecting that he actually liked her.

If she hadn’t found out now, wouldn’t it be awkward if he had done something misleading?

"Understood, understood. I won’t hide anything from you in the future, okay?" Rosalie quickly conceded, maintaining a thoroughly respectful attitude.

Seraphina didn’t say anything more, casting a faint glance at her before closing her eyes to prepare for sleep.

Rosalie suddenly remembered something and reminded her, "In a couple of days, you should be able to get discharged. I must tell you that recently Nina Kerr has been unusually quiet. I suspect something strange is going on. After discharge, be cautious in dealing with her."

"Don’t worry, I’m well aware," Seraphina responded softly without even lifting her eyelids.

"Do you remember Eric Holt, Desmond Fairchild’s brother? I’ve heard that he’s been doing great at Cloudsea Group lately and might become Desmond’s biggest obstacle."

Rosalie used to favor Keith Hughes more, but she couldn’t help feeling worried seeing Desmond Fairchild’s affection towards Seraphina recently.

Eric was no pushover. In just a couple of months, he managed to win over many senior employees and directors to his side, asserting himself within the company. He’s quite a talent.

If Desmond Fairchild doesn’t handle this properly, Cloudsea Group may soon change hands.

Rosalie knew about this, and naturally, so did Seraphina. She just deliberately avoided paying attention to these matters, not wanting to be troubled by Desmond’s affairs.

If Eric Holt were to become CEO of Cloudsea Group, their cooperation with Kevin Group might come to an end.

"Desmond Fairchild must be under a lot of pressure lately, so be a bit more courteous to him," Rosalie even felt a bit sorry for Desmond. Failing in business and in love, how much of a blow would that be?

"When have I not been courteous to him? Haven’t I always been polite?" Seraphina showed a bitter smile, slightly curling her red lips.

Their relationship was so courteous it felt like they were strangers. Isn’t that polite enough?

"I’m going to pick up Jude Sinclair from school. You should get some rest, Pomelo should be back soon." Rosalie moved the fruit bowl to the center of the coffee table and left.

Recently, Pomelo had become much more lively, not crying as often as before. Having Jude Sinclair as company made her quite happy in the hospital.

A couple of days later, the day of Seraphina Sinclair’s discharge arrived, and Pomelo was very reluctant and did not want Seraphina to leave.

Seraphina felt helpless too; she couldn’t stay in the hospital forever as she had her work to do, but Pomelo couldn’t be left without company either.

"Aunt Seraphina, will you come back to see me after you leave? Will you stop caring about Pomelo?" Pomelo feared that once Seraphina left, she wouldn’t return, just like her abandoned by her parents.

Seraphina promised repeatedly, "Silly girl, Aunt will visit you often. I’ll have Chloe come and keep you company every day."

"Really?" Tears welled up in Pomelo’s eyes as she reluctantly held onto Seraphina’s sleeve.

Truth be told, Seraphina also couldn’t bear to part with Pomelo, but there was no choice. She had to leave the hospital to continue her work, and many tasks awaited her attention — she couldn’t afford to waste time in the hospital.

Seraphina thought for a moment and said to Pomelo: "I’ll ask the doctor if your condition can be treated at home. If it can be, I’ll bring you home with me, okay?"

"Thank you, Aunt. But Pomelo doesn’t want to trouble you. As long as you remember to visit often, Pomelo will be content." Pomelo was fully aware that Seraphina couldn’t always be there for her; she was, after all, just a stranger.

Having had their company for these days, Pomelo was grateful, although somewhat regretful that she might never see Jude Sinclair again.

"Silly girl, what nonsense are you saying? Just wait. I’ll handle these matters, and it’s my honor to live with you." Seraphina gently rubbed Pomelo’s head, her eyes slightly shimmering.

If it weren’t due to Pomelo’s medical condition, she would undoubtedly have taken her home without hesitation.

Of course, if Pomelo hadn’t fallen ill, perhaps her parents wouldn’t have abandoned her, and she wouldn’t have had the chance to meet her.

"Thank you, Aunt Seraphina." Pomelo, with red eyes, couldn’t stop herself from crying.

In this life, apart from her parents, Seraphina was the best to her.

"Don’t cry. I’ll talk to the doctor. Perhaps things aren’t as difficult as we imagine." Seraphina hated to see little kids cry, particularly someone as adorable as Pomelo, whose tears would evoke more pity.

After discussing with Pomelo’s attending doctor, the conclusion was that Pomelo could be taken home, but she must come back to the hospital for regular chemotherapy.

If feasible, it was best to have a family doctor at home, just in case. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Seraphina was prepared for this. With Camille White around, as long as there were no serious issues, there was no need to worry.

So, Pomelo followed Seraphina back to Azure Cloud Shores.

For Pomelo, this was undoubtedly the best outcome. Considering that her parents didn’t want her anymore, staying with Seraphina was a decent choice.

At least it was better than being alone and uncared for in the hospital.

Bringing Pomelo back to Azure Cloud Shores, everyone warmly welcomed her.

Especially Fiona Dunn, who was particularly enthusiastic. She tugged at Pomelo, talking nonstop: "Pomelo, you finally came! Let Fiona show you your room, alright?"
