Unexpected Marriage With Mr. Leighton: Rebirth of the Villain-Chapter 113: I KNOW I AM BEAUTIFUL
Chapter 113: I KNOW I AM BEAUTIFUL
Aubrey looked scared as if Arlo was going to disappear right before her eyes.
"I will not go anywhere; don’t worry." Arlo patted the back of her hand, reassuring her.
"I hope you are telling the truth to my daughter."
Ignoring what Arthur said, Arlo proceeded to explain the situation to Aubrey further. "I will not leave you, but I have to go tomorrow." He contradicted himself.
Aubrey was crying upon hearing that. "What? You said you will not leave me alone again. Where are you going tomorrow?"
And Jack finally got the gist of what happened. "Tomorrow is the wedding between the Leighton and the Rose family. He needed to be there."
"Why?" Arthur was not happy. There was no invitation for Lozen.
They didn’t have bad blood, but after the deal that Leighton won against the Lozen family, there was this tension between them, and the last murder attempt that Arthur planned failed miserably.
He was sure Ranon knew those assassins came for him.
More so, in public, the Lozen family was not big, since they did business for camouflage only and some other convenience.
Therefore, on the surface, they didn’t seem to have any acrimony, but behind the scenes, there was this tacit understanding that it was not wise to put them together in one place.
"Arthur, you need to understand Arlo needs to come to the Leighton and the Rose’s wedding because we need the connection."
"What do you mean we need the connection?" Jack knew that Arthur understood the situation, but he was too stubborn when it came to his second daughter.
After all, Aubrey was the apple in his eyes; everyone knew this.
"Look, I don’t know why you act like this, but this is not the right time. You need to think about it." Jack approached Arthur. "This is good for business, especially after so many errors that you have made recently."
Since River disappeared. They needed to strengthen their power, and Arlo needed to be there to build the connection and relation with other people again to ensure them that River’s disappearance didn’t affect them at all.
Jack explained that much to Arthur.
"I know that you are not blind or deaf. You must have known the rumor that spread around about our families going down without River."
There were also rumors that mentioned that River was going to take revenge on Arlo and Aubrey after the betrayal they did.
They were not sure where these rumors came from, but it was enough to create ripples in their community and shake their reputation.
"This is very important for our business."
Arthur knew about all of that; however, he was still not happy with it.
Meanwhile, Aubrey, who saw her father falter with his decision, started to cry. "I don’t want you to go; I don’t want you to go." She cried through her tears, and Arlo was there to comfort her.
"It’s only for a day. I will come back as soon as possible; you don’t need to worry," Arlo reassured her.
But in his mind right now, even though he was holding Aubrey tightly in his arm, he was thinking about how to meet with Hazel.
This would be his last chance before she was out of his reach, as she was under Ranon’s protection.

"Who is this?" Lucian’s sleepy voice greeted Hazel when she called him.
His sleepiness was understandable since it was still in the middle of the night.
"It’s me." frёewebnoѵēl.com
"Who is ’me’?"
"It’s me, Hazel, Ranon’s future wife."
"No way," Lucian groaned and yawned before he hung up the phone.
Hazel was about to say something, but Lucian had already cut the call, and she could only stare at her phone in disbelief.
"What the fuck..."
Without missing a beat, Hazel called Lucian again until he picked up the call, yet before she could complain, he beat her to it; irritation was very thick in his sleepy voice.
"If you are Hazel, then I am Ranon’s brother." Lucian stretched his body and hugged his pillow as the phone rested on his cheek.
He just got his sleep since it didn’t come to him easily.
After his visit to Valerie’s apartment, he had been in a bad mood. Something bothered him.
"There is no way Hazel knows my phone number."
"If I can even get Ranon’s phone number, yours is only a walk in a garden." Hazel was displeased beyond words. Of course, she knew they had been looking for information about her.
There was no way Lucian was not aware that she managed to get Ranon’s phone number before.
And what she said finally enlightened Lucian. He seemed to be more sober now, and his voice was not as sleepy.
"Hazel, is that really you?" He looked around him and saw the clock. "Are you drunk? Do you know what time it is? If Ranon knew, I would be in trouble."
"I am not drunk, but I need you to do something for me."
"You should have bothered his sleep instead of mine." Lucian then scratched his head and mumbled. "You don’t know how scary he is whenever he gets jealous, and now you are calling another man in the middle of the night."
Lucian seemed to remember something from the past.
"If he knows, it means you say something." Hazel tapped her fingers on the table. "More so, this is something that you can easily do."
Lucian was silent for a moment. "What do you want?"
Ten minutes later, Hazel was done telling him what favor she needed from him. Just like she said, it was something that he could easily do.
"Are you certain about the percentage? How can you be so sure?"
"Oh, I can read people," Hazel chuckled lightly. "Just did it the way I asked you."
And within half an hour later, Hazel wrapped up their conversation.
She meant it when she said that she could read people, because what Lucian did next was within her prediction, yet she didn’t care, since it didn’t affect her plan.
"She called me," Lucian said on the phone. There was a trace of admiration in his voice.
Ranon had made Lucian aware of this before. He didn’t say what was the specific thing that Hazel would ask from him, but Ranon knew she would ask something from Lucian.
It was very subtle, yet Ranon could see how Hazel tried to get close to Lucian since there was something that she wanted from him.
Knowing her intention to get her share from her family business, it was easy to predict that, and Lucian was the right person to be used.
"How do you know that?" Lucian was still in awe.
"I can read people."
Now he grimaced. The answer was eerily very similar. "I don’t think I will ever say this, but you guys scared the shit out of me."

Apparently, Lucian was not the only person who was losing sleep because it happened to Valerie as well.
She lamented what happened to her brother. She was not sure when he started to change.
He was not like this before. Marcus was sweet and caring. Not even once did he raise his voice at her, let alone hurt her physically.
Marcus took Valerie out of their house when she was only fifteen years old.
He did that because of how abusive their parents were. The chance came when their parents were arrested, and they had to serve twenty-five years in jail.
Ever since, Marcus has been the parental figure for Valerie. He took care of her and stopped going to school because they didn’t have enough money to pay the school fees for two people.
As far as Valerie knew, Marcus held three to four jobs at the same time.
However, during high school, she noticed that he started to mingle with the wrong crowd.
And by that time also, Marcus met with Olivia...
’She comes from a wealthy family.’
That was what Marcus told her. He looked heartbroken, and for the first time in their wretched life, Valerie witnessed how her brother looked like he was about to cry.
The sight broke her heart.

Today was the wedding day, and Hazel had been sitting in the changing room for a few hours, doing her makeup and hair.
Of course, Olivia came to the wedding despite her annoyance; this was her chance to get her business some recognition after being oppressed by her parents for years.
"I hate to admit it, but you look beautiful in the wedding dress that I designed." Olivia looked at Hazel smugly; she pursed her lips and nodded in satisfaction, while Hazel rolled her eyes.
Olivia was wearing a yellow bodycon dress with a white shawl. The color suited her skin so well, and when the ray of the sun fell on her, she glowed beautifully.
Meanwhile, Hazel was wearing a white gown. She was bedazzling and breathtaking. The detail was intricate and pretty, while the design was dreamy and looked magical as Olivia put the tiara on her head.
And when Hazel looked at herself in the mirror, she was stunned for a moment.
She once had a dream about this moment when she was little; the dream was full of color; it was vibrant and rich with details that little River liked. But as she grew older, her dream was lost in blood that she drew from her opponents; the color turned red, and without her knowing it, such a dream became ridiculous for her.
Her dream became dull; it lost its vibrancy.
"I know I am beautiful."
