Unexpected Marriage With Mr. Leighton: Rebirth of the Villain-Chapter 115: THE WEDDING
Chapter 115: THE WEDDING
It was only a simple sentence, but you could feel the threat within.
Hazel looked Greyson dead in the eyes, challenging him to do it, and she would give him a spectacular show that he would never forget with the high possibility of crippling his reputation.
That was what she promised him in her silent gaze.
"What has gotten into your head?" Greyson asked, but his voice was less hostile than Hazel predicted. There was this unreadable emotion on his face. "You changed so much. I don’t recognize you anymore... I don’t know who you are."
"Who are you kidding?" Hazel tilted her head. "You never knew your daughter from the beginning, and this is too late to understand her."
In a way, Hazel was right. There was no more chance for Greyson to understand the real Hazel because she was already dead.
"Let’s talk about the important thing. I have a wedding in less than half an hour. I don’t need you to accompany me to the altar, just like how you never accompany me to anything in my life."
Hazel said those things to spite him, but it hit Greyson deeper than both of them thought. He realized now that the little girl, who always looked for his acknowledgment, would no longer be around anymore.
She would live away from the house, and this would be the first time he wouldn’t see her as often. The realization hit Greyson hard.
Indeed, as a father, he had never paid close attention to her because he didn’t know how to deal with his children, especially Hazel.
Every time he saw her, she would always remind him of his late wife, and how much she took after her mother didn’t help at all.
When Jasmine, his late wife, was still alive, most of the time, the responsibility of taking care of the children fell on her; therefore, when she was gone, the only way that Greyson knew of how to raise his children was the same way he was raised.
"Ten percent." It was the number that he could agree to. "I will give you ten percent of the share."
The number was rational.
Currently, Greyson had fifty-five percent, Dylan had twenty-five percent, and Logan held five percent. The rest of the fifteen percent belonged to the shareholders.
By giving Hazel ten percent, Greyson’s share was still the biggest in the company.
"Fine. Ten percent." Hazel had calculated it. "I want a legal binding for this."
Greyson looked annoyed. As far as he knew, Hazel knew nothing about business, and giving her ten percent was already very generous of him.
To be honest, Greyson was a little bit sentimental at this moment, and some part of him saw this as a way to ease his guilt.
It was really not a good combination for a business.
"We will talk in more detail about it after the wedding."
"No, we will deal with this right now."
Greyson was even more furious now. "What do you mean? Are you out of your mind?" They were not going to talk about the details. There was not enough time, and Hazel should know about it too.
However, ignoring Greyson’s protest, Hazel took her phone and called Lucian. "I need the document now."
"Now?" Lucian was confused. He looked at his watch. "Aren’t you supposed to be in your changing room?"
"Yes, I am."
"Do you want me to go there?" Lucian widened his eyes and then glanced at Ranon, who was smoking on the balcony. He had been smoking a lot lately.
"Yes."
"You do know that I am not supposed to be there in your changing room, right?"
"It’s okay, just don’t let anyone see you here."
And before Lucian could protest further, Hazel had hung up the phone. "What the fuck..."
"What happened?" Ares asked with curiosity. He just finished his conversation with Ranon, and the man was walking behind him, lighting up one more cigarette.
"Hazel asked me to see her now."
Ranon stopped his movement. With the cigarette between his lips and the black Zippo in his hand, his eyes stared at Lucian sharply, which rushed him to provide more explanation.
"She wanted the document. I think she got her father."
"Give her what she wants."
And the fire licked the cigar.

Greyson was staring at the document that was handed to him by Lucian. Everything had already been written there. All the legal documents were ready, and they only needed to sign them.
Obviously, the process would take a while, but eventually, Hazel would get what she wanted.
However, the thing that Greyson couldn’t comprehend was the exact percentage on the paper. How did she know that he would agree to ten percent?
But then, all Greyson’s confusion dissolved when he saw Lucian. Lucian was the lawyer for the Leighton company, and it would make sense if Ranon was behind it.
"Did Mr. Leighton play dirty now?" Greyson smirked derisively as he glowered at Lucian. "He tricked my daughter into doing so?"
If everything was planned by Ranon Leighton, then it would make sense. It was nearly impossible for Hazel to be very cunning and wicked like this.
Greyson didn’t know his children very well, but he was certain Hazel was not someone who could create an elaborate plan.
Hazel couldn’t, but an assassin from the Lozen family definitely could.
"There is no benefit for Mr. Leighton to trick you into this. I am here because Ms. Rose personally asked me for a favor." Lucian went into business mode, where he looked sterner than his usual cheerful self.
"Right." Greyson mocked Lucian’s reply, and the latter was not happy about it. "That makes sense."
"Let’s not forget that your son is the main reason why there is a wedding in the first place."
And the answer shut Greyson up, while Hazel simply stood there, looking beautiful in her wedding dress, watching both of them throw insults in the politest way.
In the end, Greyson signed the papers begrudgingly.

"You need to stop smoking. You don’t want to smell like tobacco on your wedding day," Ares said when Ranon was about to light up another cigarette. "I understand you are nervous, but smoking excessively will not solve it."
Ares had never seen Ranon nervous, but he assumed he was right now since he almost finished a pack of cigarettes.
But the truth was: Ranon was not nervous.
Earlier, he received a phone call from his man to inform him that Hazel had gotten the dress from Olivia, and after some background checks and digging deeper into it, the information led him to River.
Apparently, it was River who had bought the wedding dress, and more importantly, Olivia was part of the family that was involved with the Lozen family’s underground activity.
The more he learned about it, the more confusing it became. Everything didn’t make sense. It almost felt like he had all the pieces that he needed, but the puzzles didn’t fit with one another.
After all, the Lozen family was the family who accepted the hit to kill the member of the Leighton family, and now his future wife, somehow, was tangled with their daughter, River.
’They are still looking for her. Our man spotted Arthur Lozen around the hotel, where Ms. Olivia stayed.’
That was the recent information that Ranon’s men could gather.
Olivia...
She was one of the guests that Hazel personally invited, despite the fact that there was no history of them knowing each other before this.

"This is ridiculous." Greyson looked at Hazel; he was displeased. "I can’t believe you work together with Ranon to trick me."
Lucian had left, and now it was time for Greyson to walk with Hazel and make a grand entrance.
"The ridiculous part is that you agreed to this when you can choose not to." Hazel put her hand on her father’s arm and smiled innocently. "Are you ready... Father?" she drawled the last word.
Greyson was so angry, but when he saw the smile on Hazel’s face and as they walked to the crowd of people who were waiting for them, the feeling ceased.
His chest tightened, and everything became surreal for him.
Everything came rushing back to his mind at this very moment.
Greyson remembered the first time he held Hazel in his arms. She was so small, crying so loud until her face turned very red.
He remembered the sweet moment when he chose the name Hazel for her with Jasmine. How his late wife loved this name.
He remembered when he used to talk to Hazel when Jasmine was pregnant with her. He was happy to have a daughter and hoped she would be as beautiful as her mother, and indeed Hazel was as beautiful as her mother.
He remembered the excitement when he felt Hazel’s first kick.
All those years of negligence flashed before his eyes as he walked the aisle with his daughter, giving her to someone else who would take care of her when he had not yet done it.
He had twenty-one years to correct his mistake, but only now did he really want to try when she was no longer his responsibility, and she would be out of his sight.
Greyson should apologize for what he had done, but he was not raised in that way...
The sky was clear, and in the background of the soft music, you could hear the crashing sound of the waves.
Hundreds of people gathered together to be the witness of this union. No one talked as they fell into a solemn silence.
