Unexpected Marriage With Mr. Leighton: Rebirth of the Villain-Chapter 116: THE WEDDING (2)
Chapter 116: THE WEDDING (2)
Ranon looked at Hazel in her wedding dress. She was stunningly beautiful, and there was something about her that made him unable to take his eyes off her.
Probably because of the mystery that surrounded her or the way she contradicted everything that he knew.
However, he was attracted to her in a way that was hard to explain.
Seeing her, smiling so innocently and staring at him with those soft brown eyes, made Ranon want to shake her body and stop her pretense.
He wanted to interrogate her, but at the same time, he enjoyed discovering pieces by pieces of her. She felt like a challenge, but in a good way.
"You smell like tobacco," Hazel said in a low voice when Ranon took her hand from her father. She scrunched her nose. "I can smell cancer from you."
And this was one of the reasons why Ranon enjoyed being around her. You didn’t know what came out of her smart mouth.
"I am nervous."
Hazel widened her eyes when she heard that. "Who are you?" Both of them knew that was a lie. Someone like Ranon wouldn’t get nervous in a fake wedding that they had agreed upon.
"Don’t be too harsh; this is my first wedding."
"Do you think this is my fifth?"
Greyson cleared his throat when he heard Hazel mumbling something. He didn’t hear the entire conversation, but as he stood closer to his daughter, he only heard her mumbling.
And with that, the ceremony went with no hiccups. They said their vows and kissed each other in front of all the people present.
Ema turned her head; she couldn’t watch this. It didn’t feel real for her. Ranon married someone else when she thought he would never be in any relationship.
As malicious as it sounded, Ema thought she had broken him completely to the point he would never be with someone else; and for some reason, that thought brought comfort to her.
At the very least, she would always be his woman, even though they were not together.
Yet, when the reality was presented before her eyes, it shattered her little world.
"Don’t you dare turn your head away," Denzel said in a low and warning tone. They had a huge fight when he learned about Ema’s visit to Ranon’s office, which caused quite a ruckus there. "Watch this."
It was cruel.
Ema didn’t want to come to this wedding, but in Denzel’s eyes, it was part of her punishment.
"It has been seven years; you should have gotten over it."
Ema should, and she thought she had, but the truth said otherwise.

The wedding went beautifully, and all the guests enjoyed the scenery while having a light conversation to widen their connections and watching the sunset.
The ambiance was light and serene as many people tried to chat with the bride and groom.
They wished the happy couple a happy, long marriage, flattering Hazel for how beautiful she was, and were surprised to learn that the wedding dress was designed not by a famous designer.
And these curious people would go to find Olivia and express their admiration for her dress. Of course, this was the opportunity that she had been waiting for.
As much as she was annoyed by coming to this wedding, in the end, it was worth it.
"I am hungry," Hazel whispered in Ranon’s ear when she was about to leave secretly as he had a boring conversation about business with two men, and they didn’t pay attention to her at all, but he caught her hand.
"I will come to you later," Ranon replied. "We will have a family photo."
"Okay."
Hazel didn’t say that he didn’t need to come because she needed her alone time. Smiling all day and showing a happy face was not her best forte.
She was emotionally drained now and sleepy; thus, food was her comfort.
From afar, Hazel could see Laurel. She was walking towards her husband, who was currently on the phone, standing behind one of the pillar decorations.
Because of his position, he didn’t realize that Laurel was coming and continued with his conversation.
Hazel shrugged her shoulder and continued eating.
Last time, she learned that Laurel was having a marriage problem, but they came together with Carl too, and now that young boy was sitting in his seat, staring at the distance, seemingly; his mind wandered off somewhere.
Not her business though...
Meanwhile, Laurel came to James because she wanted to inform him that they were going to have a family photo.
However, Laurel overheard James say a name that made her stop in her tracks. She stood a step away from him, but because of the music and how engrossed James was in his conversation, he didn’t realize Laurel heard his conversation.
"Amelia..." he said in a tired voice. "I am a few cities away. I can’t come to you right now. I will see you the day after tomorrow. I will find a way to come back sooner. Yes, I will bring Carl with me."
Amelia, Carl’s biological mother.
They had been in contact for the last two years now when she suddenly returned to Carl’s life and wanted to know the son she had abandoned for years.
Laurel was not stupid; she noticed Carl started to change his behavior around her ever since he met his mother. It didn’t happen immediately, but very subtly.
Yet, every time Laurel raised this concern, James would always dismiss it, telling her to be more understanding, and Laurel chalked it up.
After all, Carl was the one who decided whether he wanted to see her or not, and from the look of it, he enjoyed his time with his biological mother, getting to know her, and catching up on all the years they lost.
"Yes. I will call you back." James cleared his throat and lowered his voice; it sounded gentler. "I miss you too."
Laurel was not sure what got to her, but the moment she heard it, she turned around and left, as if she was afraid to get caught.
It was very cowardly of her to leave, as though she had done something wrong. She should be irate to learn that her husband missed another woman, but the only feeling that came forward was... fear.
She didn’t know why, but she was scared of the reality.
"What happened, Mother? You look pale," Carl asked Laurel when she sat down next to him.
Carl and James had been acting normal, but you couldn’t deny the tension. There was no apology, and the only conversation Laurel had with James when she didn’t return to their bedroom was: he was giving her space to calm herself down.
James acted as if Laurel was being irrational, and he was very understanding to leave her alone to process her emotions.
"Call your father; we will take a picture," Laurel replied without looking in his direction.
It had been bothering Carl because Laurel refused to look him in the eyes, but he couldn’t address this concern since he would need to talk about what happened, and he was ashamed to admit he was wrong.
He must have taken this trait from his father...
"Okay." Carl stood up and walked away to look for his father, while Laurel sat there, processing her emotions and replying in her head to what just happened.
All the possibilities scared her, and deep down, she knew what actually was going on...

"I don’t think I need help with my dress," Hazel said when Ranon came with her to change her dress to an evening gown. This time, they chose Jacob’s design.
"I am the one who needs help with my suit."
Hazel furrowed her brows. This was the first time she heard a man needed a helping hand to help him get dressed.
"Stop frowning." Ranon leaned over to smooth her creased brows with a kiss. "There is something I want to give you."
"Money?"
Ranon chuckled. "Do you still need more money after you won your share in your family’s company?"
Hearing that, Hazel grinned. "It’s easier than I thought."
"You are good at threatening people."
"I will take that as a compliment."
Both of them went to the changing room, where Ranon called for Ares to bring the document that he had prepared.
"This is what you wanted." Ranon put the document down on the table. He sat down and watched Hazel struggling with the dress. "Need help?"
"No, thanks. The last time you helped me with the dress, things went south pretty fast."
It was pretty bold for Hazel to blame Ranon when she was the one who initiated it. Yet she wouldn’t admit it, and thankfully, Ranon was generous enough not to point it out.
"What is that?" Hazel gave up and decided to check on the things that Ranon wanted to show her first.
The two of them currently were in the changing room; it was the main bedroom on the second floor, thus you could see the cliff from there.
"Oh, did you find it?"
"It’s in the location that you wanted."
It was the house that Hazel wanted.
Hazel beamed; she went to Ranon and peppered his cheek with kisses. "You are the best!" It almost felt natural for her to do this.
And to make herself more comfortable, she sat on his lap as she flipped through the documents to make sure this was indeed what she wanted.
Ranon didn’t give it to her before because he had to deal with Laurel’s tantrum, and Hazel vented out her frustration on him; not to mention he was livid with Ema for the confrontation in his office.
