Unexpected Marriage With Mr. Leighton: Rebirth of the Villain-Chapter 17: CONFRONTATION WITH HER FATHER
Chapter 17: CONFRONTATION WITH HER FATHER
As River, she had met with Greyson Rose a handful of times, but as all of her missions had never crossed paths with him, she didn’t really know him personally, aside from a few pieces of information that you could access in public.
But, as Hazel, she didn’t really know him either. He was not remarried after his wife died, giving birth to his daughter. She only knew that he was not a good father. The image that he showed in public compared to the one in Hazel’s mind was completely opposite.
Greyson Rose in Hazel’s eyes was a short-tempered guy who had really bad anger issues and wouldn’t even think twice when he had to discipline his children by using physical punishment.
Hazel, Dylan, and Logan had tasted his belt a couple of times, especially Logan, since he was the eccentric one, and Greyson seemed to hate him second to Hazel.
"Where did you go?" Greyson approached his daughter, who didn’t answer the question.
Hazel snapped from her own thought, alert with their close proximity. "I went out to meet a friend." She didn’t lie, though she couldn’t say Ranon was her friend.
Greyson narrowed his eyes when he heard that. He looked at her grimly. "What did you do to your brother?"
"Oh, that..." Hazel gave him an innocent look. "We had a sibling fight," she said simply. She didn’t have any idea what happened to Dylan after she left, but certainly the news of it made it to their father.
"A sibling fight?"
For a moment, Hazel thought he was going to slap her, so she immediately moved back, but Greyson actually bent down his body and grabbed a remote. He turned on the television and switched the channel to a news station, where Hazel could see a few reporters rush behind Dylan to ask about the wound on his head.
There was a visible bandage on Dylan’s head, the spot where Hazel hit him. She really wanted to laugh because on the screen, Dylan looked so annoyed. His handsome face looked ridiculous with the bandage.
However, sensing Greyson’s anger, Hazel cleared her throat and shifted her attention back to her father, who was staring daggers at her.
"You said that’s a sibling fight?!" He finally roared and marched towards Hazel; he was going to slap her, but she dodged him and created a safe distance between them, which only angered him even more. "COME BACK HERE!" he yelled so loudly at her.
At the top of the stairs, Hazel could see Logan poking his head, seemingly curious about what was going on. He must be enjoying this sight so much.
"No," Hazel said defiantly. She used a sofa as a divider between them. "He was going to belt me, so I hit him."
Greyson furrowed a bit. "He is going to do what? Belt you?" He was the only one who could do that in this house. But then, it would be another problem between him and Dylan. Right now, he was going to deal with Hazel first. "He is your older brother; you must have done something for him to discipline you harshly."
Hazel sneered when she heard that, and this only antagonized Greyson further. Logan widened his eyes seeing his little sister’s defiance.
"Did she use drugs? Why is she being so bold?" Logan muttered to himself. He had sensed her drastic change lately, but he didn’t expect she would go against their father openly like this.
"Oh, and you do not bother to ask what I have done to deserve that!?" Hazel yelled back at him, which made Greyson startled. Among his children, she was the quiet one; let alone glaring at him like this, she didn’t even dare to look in his direction or speak in his presence.
"You really need to be taught a lesson! How dare you talk back to me!? You still live under my roof! Mind what you say!"
Greyson was losing it. He was not going to be disrespected by anyone, not even his children, especially his daughter. He marched towards Hazel, but she shouted at him viciously.
"He drugged me!"
It managed to stop him in his tracks. His anger morphed into a shock. He staggered back, but then he clenched his jaw, as if he was trying to comprehend it.
"Wh-what?" He gritted his teeth, his eyes focused on Hazel. "What did you say?" freeweɓnovel~cѳm
Hazel smirked. She was not willing to repeat what she said. "You heard me."
"How?" Greyson furrowed his brows. It didn’t make sense to him.
"If you want to know, you can ask him." Hazel fixed the bag on her shoulders. "A scratch on his head is not even close to punishing him."
And after dropping the bomb, Hazel walked away from Greyson. This time, he didn’t stop her. He stared at his daughter, yet he said nothing.
"The entertainment is over; go back to your room," Hazel said when she walked past Logan, who was still standing on top of the stairs. He stared at her with wide eyes, his mouth opened, but there were no words that came out.
Hazel didn’t stay to listen to what he was going to say. She strode straight to her bedroom. She was tired, and she was going to move out of this house as soon as possible, especially when Greyson had returned.
But, of course, Logan would find a way to annoy her. He actually chased after his little sister and grabbed her hand before she could enter her bedroom.
"Did you tell the truth? Dylan drugged you?" He asked; his voice was tight.
"Why? Feeling sorry for me already?"
Logan groaned. "I have never done such a nasty thing to you!" He was annoyed.
Hazel swatted his hand away and smirked. "So, you think you are better than him just because you never drugged me?"
"Why did he drug you?" Logan ignored her sarcasm.
"So, I can sleep with Ronan Leighton, and he can form a business connection with him."
