Unexpected Marriage With Mr. Leighton: Rebirth of the Villain-Chapter 19: THE RESULT
Chapter 19: THE RESULT
The only one inside this car who needed medical attention was Dylan; thus, you couldn’t blame Hazel when she thought they were all going to the hospital to accompany him.
"It’s not me, it’s you!" Dylan said through his gritted teeth. From the way his hands were shaking, Hazel could say confidently that he really wanted to, at least, slap her. "We are going to check whether you are pregnant or not."
"What?" Hazel raised her brows. She almost laughed but managed to stop herself. Instead, she leaned her back and took a nap; she didn’t have the slightest worry about the result of it. It was already very ridiculous to think she was pregnant.
Arlo chose Aubrey because she was pregnant with their child, while she... she was barren. What happened three years ago took so much from her.
This time, Hazel dreamed of the time when Arlo asked her out for the first time.
Both of their families were very close, as they were in the same line of business; thus, she had known Arlo ever since they were little. He was a cute, quiet kid in River’s eyes back then.
If the Lozen family was the family of assassins and they gathered crucial information, then the Barlowe family was the one who found the clients for them. They had an intricate connection. You could say they had their hands in almost all illegal businesses.
While on the surface the Barlowe family was a family of businessmen from Aspen City, behind the closed door, well, you could say they ruled the underworld. Not many families had the same standing as them.
Therefore, for Hazel not being able to give an offspring to Arlo was indeed a problem, yet he could end things with her and pursue Aubrey. It was not like Hazel would grovel and beg him to stay. She was not going to lower herself like that.
But to kill her... they had taken things too far.

"When will you tell Father about us?" Aubrey called Arlo from inside her bathroom. She started her morning sickness, and she hated it with passion. It made her feel awful, and everything that she ate tasted like sand. She couldn’t get up from the bed for days, and thankfully, her father didn’t pay attention to that since he had been busy looking for River. "I am showing."
"You are not, Aubrey. You are still ten weeks."
Aubrey gritted her teeth, fighting back her tears, not out of sadness but annoyance, because Arlo had been distancing himself from her. ƒгeewebnovёl_com
Their fight yesterday was very awful, and he didn’t pick up his phone at all the whole night; and this morning, she learned that he was drunk at Noah’s club.
She didn’t want to talk about what happened yesterday and started a new fight, but she really needed him to step up and talk to her father about them.
"The servants have been staring at my stomach. They knew."
"That’s only in your mind."
Aubrey burst into tears when she heard that. She cried so hard and talked too fast; she was not even sure what she said. Probably, she was cussing him out in her rambles.
"...How could you do this to me?!"
"Fine. I am going to meet your father tonight for a meeting. I am going to tell him." They were going to have a meeting tonight to discuss the canceled order since River had gone missing.
Arlo’s father was not happy about that either, and he had been pressuring Arlo to find out where River was and the reason behind her sudden disappearance.
’Did you two fight?’
’We have broken up.’
Arlo didn’t lie. They broke up the moment River learned about his infidelity. And with that answer, his father only raised his brows and talked nonchalantly.
’So, is she sulking now? How unprofessional. She should know her responsibilities. How disappointing.’
No. She was not sulking. She was shot and fell from a bridge into the cold, dark river. The irony of her name...
"Really? Are you really going to tell Father tonight about us?"
"Yes."

"Do you even know what you have done?!" Greyson punched his son so hard that Dylan fell on the floor after he hit the table.
Doctor Reynald immediately separated them; he pulled Greyson aside to prevent him from hitting his son again, while Hazel was sitting on a sofa, staring at the result.
They took Hazel to the hospital to have a blood test, and the result came out a few hours later, which told them that she was pregnant.
"Impossible..." Hazel muttered under her breath; she shook her head.
But then she realized her mistake. This was not her body. She knew that her body wouldn’t allow her to conceive a child, but she was not River; she was Hazel, and Hazel could. Her body was perfect. She was healthy and fertile.
How could she miss this detail?
This was a disaster...
Meanwhile, Greyson was screaming at Dylan for his stupidity while the latter was still sitting on the floor, wiping the blood that gushed from the corner of his lips. He glared at his father, enraged.
"This is what you wanted, right?! I only make a way for you!" Dylan snarled, but it only aggravated Greyson more.
Right now, they were in Doctor Reynald’s office. He was the family doctor and also Greyson’s old friend. Therefore, he trusted him with this big affair.
"Calm down." Reynald tried to make Dylan stop talking because he didn’t help with anything by irritating his father. "Dylan, leave for a while. If you two keep shouting here, someone might hear you."
This room was soundproof, but someone could accidentally walk in and overhear the conversation.
"You should thank me, Father," Dylan said irritatedly; he slammed the door behind him.
"Bastard!" Greyson cussed his son out. "Where are you going?!" He snapped when he saw Hazel was trying to get out of the room secretively too.
Hazel looked for an excuse. "Hmm... toilet."
