Unexpected Marriage With Mr. Leighton: Rebirth of the Villain-Chapter 56: SOMETHING FAMILIAR
Chapter 56: SOMETHING FAMILIAR
Olivia had skin that glowed healthily, and it was the most beautiful skin she had ever seen. She would love to have such skin.
However, Olivia thought that the moniker from River was an insult. That was a misunderstanding, yet River didn’t have any desire to explain it to her. They were not in that kind of relationship. Such interaction was too sweet for their taste.
River let her think she mocked her because that was how the relationship between them always was.
"What is it? Did River talk to you about me? This is ridiculous. Who are you? Who are you actually?" Olivia was actually startled when she heard someone else call her that. Because aside from River, no one was daring enough to mock her with that name.
"Well, we didn’t actually talk about you, but she simply mentioned your name with the shortened version of it."
"A shortened version?" Olivia scowled. "That’s not a shortened version. That was her way to insult me."
Hazel shrugged her shoulder nonchalantly. "In my opinion, you think too much about it. Did she ever taunt you about your skin color? I don’t think River was such a person. She is actually pretty good, beautiful inside and out, and very kind. You know, the type of person who will help the other who is in distress and then be willing to sacrifice herself for the greater good and for the happiness of others. Not to mention she is very brave. Someone that you could look up to."
The more Hazel talked, the more Olivia wrinkled her brows and looked at her with disgust.
"Excuse me." She stopped her with bewilderment. "Are we talking about the same River? Because the one that I know, the one who bought that wedding dress, is not kind at all. I think you’ve just described the wrong person, or maybe you have mistaken her for someone else."
Hazel pursed her lips. "Of course not. She is good. What do you mean with that? She is very kind. She saved my life."
And then Olivia started to laugh. She even doubled down and held her stomach as if this was the most ridiculous and funniest story that she had ever heard, which was an annoying thing to see, but then Hazel let her continue with her attitude.
It took a while for Olivia to regain her composure again. She wiped the tears from her eyes before she apologized for laughing so hard. Even though her apology did not sound apologetic or sincere at all.
"I think we know a different person, or she shows you a different persona. Well, I should admit it that she could be very charming if she wanted something. Now you can tell her that she can come to me and get the wedding dress herself, or I am not going to give the wedding dress to you. You can say that to her."
Olivia spoke with so much attitude, and this was upsetting for Hazel. She didn’t have time for this bullshit. Therefore, even when she hated to use this, she thought it was necessary.
Hazel stood up; her whole demeanor changed, and she spoke with her powerful voice. "Do you even know me?"
Hearing the question, Olivia actually snickered; she raised her brows, and she looked more arrogant than ever.
The tension was building up in the air as the two women stared at each other. They showed their dislikes in their first meeting. This must be fate. No matter whose body River used, the relationship between them couldn’t be better than this.
This woman knew how to upset her.
"Of course, I know you. You have made sure that everyone in this city knows about you." Olivia shook her head. "No, actually everyone in this country knows about you. You are not very quiet or secretive with your loving relationship with that man from the Leighton family, remember? So, it’s not a surprise that I know about you." Olivia stood up as well. "You are Hazel Rose from the Rose family. You are the youngest of the family, but that’s not important," Olivia said after she listed what she knew about Hazel. "The important part here is: I want you to tell River to come and see me, or else I will not give the dress to you. That’s very simple, right?"
Hazel narrowed her eyes. Olivia was not the only person with a bad attitude here. "I don’t think River will want to talk with you. She’s very busy right now. You know, she doesn’t have time to doodle around like you."
This retort made Olivia silent for a while. Not because she didn’t have anything to say, of course; she had a lot of things to say. But then she felt like she was bickering with River instead of Hazel Rose, someone that she didn’t know before, since that was what River used to say to taunt her.
She was only doodling.
That was what she said about her designs. And yet there she was, buying her wedding dress because she liked it, even though she hated her. She liked her design, yet she would never admit that.
It was as clear as day when River bought her wedding dress; she said that she took pity on her. That was why she bought the dress. Yeah, like anyone would believe that. She didn’t need anyone’s pity.
However, her boyfriend was involved in something dangerous, and she needed a lot of money to bail him out; that was the only reason why Olivia let River buy her dress.
"I don’t have time all day; I will take my leave now."
Olivia’s face turned sour right now, which Hazel thought she had struck a nerve with her.
"It’s like you know River very well. You can speak on her behalf." Olivia eventually spoke before Hazel could leave the room.
"You can say that we are pretty good friends. We are best friends."
Actually, Olivia was surprised when she heard that. "Hazel doesn’t have a friend; she is not a friend material."
