Chapter 60: NOSY RIZE

Actually, Hazel only needed something to make sure a bullet pierced through that man’s and woman’s skulls, because that was the only reason why she purchased this beautiful gun in the first place.

Hazel knew Rize because she used to get her supplies from him in a special case when she couldn’t get them through her family’s link.

They were not very close, but at the same time, they had known each other for long enough. You could say a decade. He was a few years older than River, and she used to see him like a big brother, even though their relationship was not that close, since this man used to give her random advice without being asked.

Rize was still the same as the last time Hazel saw him. His short, curly hair looked a little messy, and he smelled like tobacco because of how much he smoked every day, which made Hazel always scrunch her nose because of the smell.

"What are you going to do with the gun?" Rize weighed the gun in his hand and looked at Hazel with bewilderment.

This was not the first time for him to meet with someone that was completely unexpected to be in a place like this, especially to know the code in this place to meet him.

"Will you kill your groom on your wedding night, or is there someone you want to kill before your wedding with the man from the Leighton family?" He asked casually, and Hazel simply glanced at him.

Obviously, Rize would have learned about the relationship between Hazel Rose and Ranon Leighton and the news of their wedding.

Therefore, out of everyone else, Rize didn’t expect to find Hazel here, especially when she knew the code. If it was not for Ranon Leighton, Rize wouldn’t have known the existence of Hazel Rose, let alone to think someone like her would hold a gun.

"There is no need for you to know. The more you know, the more you will get into trouble."

Subconsciously, Hazel quoted one of the pieces of advice that Rize used to give her, but thankfully, he didn’t even realize it.

Rize was amused by Hazel and he knew that he crossed the line by asking since that was the highest rule here. No questions, as long as you paid.

"So, what are you going to do with the gun? Do you even know how to use it? Don’t hurt yourself."

Hazel knew that he was a chatter, but today, he simply talked too much.

"Here is your money, and stop asking unnecessary questions."

Rize raised his brows when he heard that; he chuckled a bit and then shook his head. "Well, you remind me of someone, especially when you are being a little bit rude like this. "I believe if the two of you met, you two would be best friends, even though I can’t say that she is interested in making any friends with other people that don’t give her benefits."

"Smart," Hazel replied curtly. She knew who he was talking about. If you didn’t benefit her, why would she make friends with them? It would only waste her time. In the world where she lived, time and connections were everything.

Rize must have picked up the way Hazel was talking; that was why he said something like that. What to do? Hazel couldn’t easily get rid of her habit, especially when she did it without even realizing it.

It was her own instinct, but because Rize didn’t seem suspicious and only thought this was only a coincidence, Hazel shrugged her shoulders and didn’t think much of it.

He wouldn’t believe her either if she said she was actually River. It was understandable that he would think that Hazel reminded him of River.

That was why there was no need for the explanation. The fewer people knew about it, the better.

Yet, Hazel should have known this man was relentless. "So, who are you going to kill? Your future husband or your father-in-law?"

Hazel rolled her eyes to hear that; you couldn’t expect less from Rize as he looked for more information to sell.

"That’s none of your business."

After Hazel put down the money and secured the gun in her handbag, she walked away. That man loved to find trouble and enjoy the way Hazel was very nonchalant with him, reminding him of River.

But then, he had the audacity to yell at her with a cheerful tone, which used to make Hazel annoyed but right now made her feel like there was nothing changed.

To be honest, Hazel felt rather nostalgic.

"Well, I wish you a happy wedding. I hope that man can make you less grumpy because that look doesn’t suit you really well." He grinned and waved at her.

Hazel couldn’t help it; she flipped him off and then continued to walk out of the room, which surprised that man.

He didn’t think Hazel was someone who would do that. He didn’t know this daughter from the Rose family really well; she was out of his radar since there was nothing interesting or important about her until recently.

Ranon Leighton.

There was something about her that caught his attention. She looked so different in person than what people used to perceive her. He was not sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing, but the thought of her buying a gun was inconceivable.

Hazel was happy when she returned to her bedroom and was already imagining the comfort of her bed and the movies she wanted to watch. She had never been this relaxed when she was River.

It almost felt like a very long vacation.

She came into her bedroom the same way she went out, which was through the window, but her heart almost stopped beating when she saw Ranon was there, sitting in her favorite single sofa.

His dark eyes trained on her, they filled with judgment as he watched how she climbed into the room.
