Unexpected Marriage With Mr. Leighton: Rebirth of the Villain-Chapter 81: A COOL ADVICE
Chapter 81: A COOL ADVICE
Carl shook his head. "No, you don’t need to. I don’t need you to do that; I can drive myself."
"Get into the car." Hazel used her commanding voice to talk with him, and he looked offended, but then she didn’t take disobedience lightly; she simply nodded to the car. "Go inside the car," she said more sternly right now.
This young man was stubborn, and she could tell that immediately. Yet, after what happened, Carl listened to her. He got inside the car and gave the car key to Hazel.
"What about your car?" Carl watched Hazel enter his car and abandon hers.
As they talked, the four men had run away with their beaten-up faces. They would return, and Hazel was sure about that. She dealt with impulsive people like that countless times.
"It’s fine; someone will retrieve it." Hazel was thinking she would ask Nolu or Yara to get the car for her. "Get in now, or should I drag you?" She became impatient when she saw Carl was still standing outside the car.
Quickly, Carl got inside and buckled himself. Thankfully, he did that since Hazel drove the car like a madman.
"Can you slow down?" Carl turned pale. They were going to crash. He could tell that this future aunt of his was pissed.
Yet, instead of answering his question, Hazel asked him calmly. "Why did you even drive here?"
"Uhm." Carl was nervous; he glanced at Hazel a few times before he answered her. "It’s because they want me to be their friend... Actually, there was nothing serious."
"There was nothing serious?" Hazel glanced at Carl’s beaten-up face and scoffed. Carl could feel his face turn red.
"I was the one who wanted to give them a ride," he said defensively in a small voice.
"They are not your friends. Stop thinking that those people are your friends." ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
Carl lowered his head. He still wanted to defend them. "But actually, they are pretty nice." Even he himself didn’t sound certain with what he said.
"Yeah, they are pretty nice because you are loaded, and you give them everything they want, and what do you get once you say ’no’?" Hazel turned her head and waved her hand to Carl’s face. "You got beaten up, and you still call them friends?"
Carl didn’t answer and simply lowered his head, which was an answer enough for Hazel.
"A bad company is worse than being alone. Next time if someone punches you, you need to punch back." Somehow, Hazel took it personally, probably because she was being hormonal.
"I am not that strong."
"You know what? Even if you are not strong, you still need to fight back. At the very least, they will know that you won’t take the beating down. You will fight back, even if you know you will lose. That’s what you call dignity."
Somehow Hazel looked proud of herself for giving such a piece of advice; even so, she didn’t think that kind of advice was really helpful since she would take another route if it were her.
Obviously, she wouldn’t get into a battle that she couldn’t win, which meant if she had to fight and knew she would lose, she would just run away and come back with a strategy that would benefit her. As simple as that.
However, that kind of advice wouldn’t look cool at all.
And when they finally arrived at Laurel’s house, Carl immediately rushed into his house, leaving Hazel alone inside the car.
"Hey! Take the car key with you!" Hazel shouted at him, but he had already closed the door behind him, and she couldn’t stop him. "Damn it!" she hissed under her breath, starting to regret her decision to help that impulsive teenager in the first place.
In the end, Hazel didn’t have any other choice but to get out of the car. However, she didn’t see anyone in the front yard who she could ask to drive her back to the main road.
The problem here was the distance from the main gates to the main house was quite far, and Hazel didn’t have any intention to walk back.
Therefore, she went to the porch and was about to enter the house when Laurel walked from inside the house, looking confused and then surprised to see Hazel was there.
It could be said that the relationship between the two was not the best, since she disliked the fact that Hazel was pregnant with Ranon’s baby to get into the Leighton family. At least that was how things stood in her eyes, even though in a way it was not wrong either.
"Why are you here?" Laurel crossed her arms and stared at Hazel sharply. She looked like she was ready to fight her.
"I would love to have a warmer welcome for what I have done for your stepson; a simple ’thank you’ would be lovely too," Hazel said with annoyance; she didn’t even try to hide it.
"Why should I thank you?" Laurel frowned deeply. They stood a little bit far away from each other, indicating that they actually didn’t want to be in the same space.
"Ask him." Hazel threw the car key towards Laurel, and she caught it out of reflex. "Drive me back to the main road. I need to find a taxi and go home. It’s already so late."
Hazel’s phone ran out of battery after she informed Nolu about her car in the hospital, and she couldn’t ask them to pick her up here.
"Why don’t..."
"Can’t use my phone, running out of battery," Hazel said quickly, knowing what Laurel was about to suggest, which pissed her off. "Come on. I don’t like to be here, and I know that you don’t like me to be here too; just do us a favor."
Laurel really wanted to throw the car key at Hazel’s annoying face for ordering her around. She couldn’t imagine meeting her at every family function.
"I am not going to drive you anywhere."
