Villain Ch 1193. Guild Leaders on The Run [Part 5]
Father^Alex looked taken aback, his brows knitting together in confusion. "Wait, you mean they—?"
Elio exhaled heavily, his eyes hardening. "Yeah. It wasn't just some in-game fallout. Sophia especially. She has a way of… twisting things, you know? Manipulating people to get what she wants. And for a while, I didn't even see it. I thought we were close. But I was just another piece on her board."
Allen scoffed, crossing his arms as he leaned back. "Sounds like her."
Elio shot him a sideways glance, something unreadable in his gaze. "You remember that night she got hammered at that party? The one where you with that model?"
Allen nodded slowly. "Yeah, I remember that."
Elio's face twisted in a wry smile. "It was a full-on disaster. She was calling your name the entire time. Thought I was you. Kept going on about 'her perfect guy' and how she had 'everything figured out.'" He let out a hollow laugh. He still could feel the sting of pain in his chest due to that accident.
Allen chuckled, though there was a hint of bitterness in his voice. "Sounds like classic Sophia. She's always been good at making people believe what she wants them to believe."
Mastercraft whistled, shaking his head in disbelief. "That's cold, man. Using people like that… and making you her backup plan?"
Arcana let out a low, dark chuckle. "Some people have no shame. They'll use you up, then toss you aside without a second thought. Makes you wonder why you even bothered with them in the first place."
Elio ran a hand over his face, nodding as he let out a heavy sigh. "Exactly. At first, it was little things—favors here and there, late-night calls, me covering for her when she didn't want to deal with her own messes. And I did it, thinking I was just helping a friend. But looking back? It was all calculated. Every time I thought I was doing her a favor, I was really just making myself more useful to her. And she knew it."
Allen took a long sip of his drink, glancing over at Elio with a small, sympathetic smile. "Well, you should be grateful it's not your problem anymore."
Elio let out a bitter laugh, nodding. "Yeah, no kidding. I'm really grateful for that." He paused, flicking his gaze to Allen, his expression suddenly turning puzzled. "But I still don't get one thing. Why is she still so hung up on you? Still obsessed?"
Allen raised an eyebrow, shrugging. "You know what happened between us, right? She cheated on me, and that's when everything blew up."
As soon as Allen said "cheated," the others immediately leaned in, all eyes wide with interest, as if this was the juiciest gossip they'd ever heard.
Elio ignored the others' reactions, keeping his focus on Allen. "Yeah… she told me. Two years ago, she said. She told me she really regrets it, and that she's been hoping she could somehow… get back with you. Said she messed up, said it was her moment of weakness."
Allen scoffed, a bitter smile tugging at his lips. "A moment of weakness? That's rich."
"She told me her ex seduced her and manipulated her," Elio continued, almost reluctantly. "She said she didn't see a future with you at the time and got… confused, I guess. Wondered if she'd have a better future with someone else. So she cheated."
Arcana's face twisted with disgust. "Ew… sounds like a real excuse-fest."
Red_King shook his head, a faint look of disbelief in his eyes. "So, she cheated on you, then blamed it on being 'confused'? That's low, man."
Allen let out a dry laugh, shaking his head. "Exactly. 'Confused' isn't the half of it. She was 'confused' right into someone else's arms. And you know what the funny thing is? I was actually stupid enough to think we had something real. That she actually cared."
Elio sighed, nodding. "I get it. I really do. And honestly, that's why I didn't see it coming when she started talking to me about you. She looked so… sorry. Said she regretted it every day. She convinced me to give her the benefit of the doubt, to help her, because she was hoping you'd give her another chance."
Allen scoffed again, this time more bitterly. "She regrets it because it didn't work out with the other guy. If it had, she'd be off with him, living her best life without a second thought about me."
Father^Alex let out a low whistle, leaning back in his chair. "People like that… they're dangerous. It's like they're always looking for the next best thing, never satisfied."
Arcana nodded, his expression thoughtful. "And they always have an excuse ready, don't they? The whole 'he seduced me, I was manipulated' line is practically a classic."
Allen shrugged, glancing down at his drink. "I'm done with all that drama. She tried to worm her way back into my life a few times, you know? Every time, it's the same story: 'I've changed, I'm different, I made a mistake.' But the truth is, she hasn't changed at all."
Elio sighed, a look of regret crossing his face. "And I bought into it. Hook, line, and sinker. I actually believed she wanted to make things right, thought maybe she really had learned something. But now, seeing her jump to the Arcane Wardens the second it was convenient? It's obvious it was never about you, me, or anyone. Just about whatever benefited her the most."
Red_King nodded, his expression somber. "People like her… they always leave a trail of burned bridges behind them. And the worst part? They don't care as long as they're getting what they want."
Arcana glanced over at Allen. "So, do you think she's going to stop anytime soon?"
Allen smirked, shaking his head. "She's not the type to give up easily. If she wants something, she'll keep pushing, keep finding new ways to manipulate people into giving her what she wants." He paused, leaning back in his chair, almost as if preparing himself for what he was about to say. "She even joined my gym recently, you know? Started recruiting her allies there, probably thinking she can keep tabs on me in person."
